of his impotence Twin Peaks Law Courts Meggan nervously
paces back and forth in the hallway outside the courtroom as she waits to be called
into the custody hearing that is about to take place. She still can't believe
that Jeff is actually suing her for custody for Logan; she knows that he is upset
that she lied to him about being Logan's father but she always believed that they
would be able to come to an arrangement about Logan and his custody. She is scared
to death that her lie will cost her Logan forever but she knows that she will
fight for Logan with everything she has. "How are you holding up?"
Lukas comes up to his sister and pulls her into a hug. "Thanks for
being here," Meggan bites her lower lip. "I'm so scared that I'm going
to lose Logan." "You have to stop thinking that way,"
Lukas looks at her as they exit their embrace. "We have to think positively.
You won't lose Logan. I have to believe that." Meggan tries to put
a smile on her face. "I hope you're right. My God, I hope you're right."
*** Jeff enters the hallway and sees Meggan talking with
Lukas. He looks over at her for a moment and feels his blood boil at the thought
that she has lied to him for so long about being Logan's father. In his mind,
it will end today with him getting full custody of his son; that is what he really
wants now, is to have some sort of chance to make it back up to his son for missing
so much time with him. "Dad, are you ready for this? I can't imagine
it will be easy," Paige says as she comes up to her father. "I'm
ready," Jeff nods back to her. "This is the only way that I know how
to get my son back." "I know," Paige grabs his hand and
squeezes it. "I just hope Mom is ready. She's supposed to testify today."
"You know why I had to call her," Jeff looks back at his daughter.
"She also lied to me about Logan too." "I just hope she's
braced herself for this." "Only one way we will find out,"
Jeff looks over at Leah, who is about to enter the courtroom. "Come on, let's
go take our seats." *** Inside the courtroom, Judge
Franklin Ross sits behind his desk and looks out into the audience. "Ladies
and gentlemen, we are about to start the custody hearing for Logan Richardson,"
he tells everyone. "I understand that these things can get rather emotional
for everyone involved, however due to timing, we are going to get right to the
witnesses." Jeff looks over at Meggan, who puts her head down still
scared about how this will play out. "Leah Claus, please come to the stand,
you're the first witness." Leah slowly stands and looks at Paige
and then Jeff before she starts to walk to the stand, bracing herself for what
is about to happen. Tyler's Townhouse "Darling,
I'm surprised you're not at the office at this hour," Felicia notes to her
son as she moves into the living room holding a cup of coffee. She knows that
her son typically is at the office by now so she is wondering what is going on
with him. She moves around the sofa and sits next to him. Tyler looks
over at her and tries to put a smile on his face even though he is unable too.
"Sweetheart, what is it? Why are you so sad?" Tyler feels like
his lower lip is starting to quiver. "They reopened the search for Daisy,"
he whispers back to her. "After Lukas and Craig were found alive. But Mom,
they didn't find Daisy. Simona Lopez believes that Daisy is dead."
"Oh Tyler," Felicia sets her coffee down and pulls him into a hug. "I
know you were holding on to hope that she would turn up." "It
just feels like I've lost her all over again." "You have to
remember something," Felicia looks into his red eyes. "No matter what
happens, Daisy will always be in your heart." "That's the problem,"
Tyler admits to her. "She's still in my heart. I don't know how to let her
go, Mom." "I have an idea that might help," she tells
him as their eyes meet again. "Why not throw a small memorial service for
her? Having the chance to mourn her with friends and family might be good for
you. It might be a good way for you to start to say goodbye." Tyler
pulls her into another hug. "That's a good idea. Thanks Mom."
"Oh baby," Felicia gets tears in her eyes as the sight of seeing her
son in so much pain. "I'm always here for you, you must know that."
The Sugarbowl Trenyce moves inside the coffeehouse desperately
seeking another shot of caffeine this morning. She orders her coffee and then
proceeds to the coffee bar where she puts her cream and sugar into her beverage.
As she stirs, she looks over at the window and sees Brad sitting at the window
seat alone. She finds herself moving up towards him. "Brad, hi,
how are you?" she asks him as she sits next to him. Brad looks over
at Trenyce and immediately suspects that she is there because of Cheresa. He still
can't believe that Trenyce and Chris were revealed to be Cheresa's biological
parents last fall. He does know, however, that his sister is still dealing with
the truth. "Doing okay, how are you?" he asks her back. "And
before you go any further, I can't help you with anything related to Cheresa."
Trenyce uneasily chuckles back to him. "I appreciate that," she
tells him. "I'm hoping that by giving my daughter space, she will come around.
The last thing I want to do is pressure her. This has been crazy enough for all
of us." "It really has been," Brad nods back to her. "I'm
just glad that she is okay." "That really is the most important
thing," Trenyce takes a sip of her coffee. "Actually, I wanted to discuss
something else with you, if you have time?" Brad arches his eyebrow
back to her. "I'm not sure how I can help but I will try?"
"I know that you used to be a private investigator," Trenyce begins
to tell him. "I need you to do some digging for me, if you could."
"That's very cryptic," Brad chuckles back to her. "What does
this entail?" "You know about the avalanche that struck last
November?" she asks him back as he nods to her. "My Aunt Daisy was on
the mountain when it hit
she's presumed dead." "I head
on the news, I'm so sorry." Trenyce waves her hand in the air. "Thanks
but I'm still having a hard time believing she's gone. Lukas Richardson and Craig
Benton were found in a small cave on the side of the mountain. What if my Aunt
somehow did the same?" "Have you gone to the police with this
theory?" "I have," Trenyce nods back to him. "Simona
Lopez reopened the case for 48 hours but found nothing. She wants us to accept
that Daisy is gone. But, that mountain is so huge that it would have been impossible
to search the entire site in 48 hours. I
I don't know, I can't explain it
but something in me is telling me not to give up on my Aunt." "And
that's where I come in?" "Exactly," Trenyce looks back
at him. "What do you say? Will you take this case?" Brad finds
himself nodding back to her before he takes a sip of his coffee. "I won't
make any promises but I will see what I can do." "That's all
I'm asking," Trenyce beams a smile back to him. Twin Peaks Law
Courts "Please state your name for the record," Franklin
Ross tells Leah, who has been sworn into oath and she is sitting on the witness
stand. Leah clears her throat as she looks out at Jeff and then Paige.
"My name is Leah Robertson Claus, I am married to Jeff Claus."
Lois Kam, Jeff's lawyer, stands up and looks at Leah. "You and Jeff have
been married for a few years now, is that correct?" "Yes, that's
correct." "And you share a daughter together?"
"Yes, Paige is our daughter," Leah replies to her. "At
some point, your husband slept with Meggan Richardson and got her pregnant?"
Lois asks her next. "It is a very long story," Leah starts
to reply to her. "But, yes. Jeff and Meggan slept together. And, Meggan got
pregnant." "How did Jeff react to the news that she was pregnant?"
Leah shrugs her shoulders. "We were all surprised. But Meggan claimed
that another man had fathered her child. We all believed her." "But
you found out the truth, didn't you?" Lois continues to grill her.
"I helped deliver the baby," Leah reveals to the court. "While
she was a little out of it, Meggan kept mumbling Jeff's name. I was wondering
why so I had a paternity test done. And it revealed that Jeff was the baby's father."
"So, you find out that your husband is father again," Lois moves
closer to her. "You obviously went straight home and told him the truth,
didn't you?" Lois asks her as Leah puts her head down. "Do I have to
remind you that you're under oath, Mrs. Claus?" "No."
"Excuse me? Can you say that louder?" "No, I didn't
rush home and tell Jeff the truth!" Leah says as tears fill her eyes. "I
was scared he would leave me and our family if he knew the truth."
"So, just so we are clear," Lois looks at Franklin. "You purposely
kept this secret from your husband?" "I
I," she starts
to let a tear fall down her face. "If I could go back
I," she pauses.
"I would. I never would have kept this from you, Jeff. You have to believe
me!" "No further questions." Franklin looks over
at Josh Levitt, who is Meggan's lawyer, and asks him, "Cross examine?"
"Mrs. Claus," Josh stands up and looks at Leah. "Do you think
Meggan Richardson is a good mother?" Leah uneasily nods back to
him. "I don't think she's a bad mother." "Do you think
Logan should be ripped away from Meggan?" "Objection!"
Lois stands up and yells. "Sustained, please move on Mr. Levitt,"
Franklin confirms. "No further questions," Josh sits back down
next to Meggan. "You may step down," Franklin instructs Leah,
who looks over at Jeff and then Paige. She can't believe that she had to relive
all of that on the witness stand. "We will take a short recess before we
proceed." The Pampa Grill Robin slowly stands up
from her table as she just finished having a quick bite to eat before she heads
into the office. She has a million things to do but she is excited for the mental
break from her personal life as she still hasn't been able to move past the fact
that Adam slept with Helen all of those months ago. Had Adam been honest with
her, it might not have felt like such a low blow but he lied to her for months
about it. As she turns to leave, she can't help but see Helen sitting
at the bar by herself. Robin rolls her eyes at the sight of the woman who was
so gleeful in her announcement of her affair with Adam. She knows that she should
walk away from Helen but she finds herself moving closer to him. "Helen,
eating alone I see," Robin tells her. "Supposed you're used to that,
aren't you?" Helen takes a sip of her white wine before she turns
and looks at Robin. "I see you're alone too," Helen observes back to
her. "What's wrong? Haven't been able to forgive Adam for being unable to
resist me?" "Shut up," Robin spits back to her. "Adam
went to rehab with Dawn." "I know exactly where he is,"
Helen tells her. "He's with our daughter. You still didn't answer my question
though, you didn't forgive him, did you?" "My relationship
with Adam is none of your business," Robin tells her. "Don't you dare
forget that!" Helen chuckles back to her. "Keep telling yourself
that you have a relationship," Helen tells her. "Because you and I both
know that Adam will come back to me when he's home." "This
was a mistake," Robin pushes her way past Helen, who takes another sip of
his wine. Robin rushes outside and stands up against the door trying get her heartrate
down. "I can't stand that woman!" she tells herself. ***
At another table in the restaurant, Andrew sips his beer that is in front
of him while he plays on his phone while he waits for Abby to show up. He still
can't believe that she told him that the only way she would keep the secret of
his affair with Albertinah is for them to have a chance as a couple together.
Andrew almost feels sick to his stomach at the suggestion since he doesn't feel
that way at all for Abby. He just hopes that he can get through to her when she
arrives because there's no way that he will cave into her demands. "Oh
good, you have a white wine waiting for me," Abby announces as she sits across
from him. "It's been a rough morning." "This isn't exactly
a social call," Andrew rolls his eyes to her. "This is about our last
visit. And, I don't have a lot of time because I have to get to the university
since I am graduating today." "I assumed so," Abby purses
her lips together. "You've had time to think about my terms of conditions
I trust? I don't need this wine if you want to take me back to your place and
make love to me for the rest of the afternoon. I mean, after the graduation. I'd
love to see you in your robe and then strip it off you." "You're
making me sick," Andrew quips back to her. "But, yes I have thought
about it." "Well, shall we go?" "No,"
Andrew shakes his head back to her. "I called you here to tell you that I
won't be blackmailed into a relationship. We will have to come up with something
else to ensure you keep my secret." "No," Abby tells him
back immediately. "Either you do this or else." "Then
I guess I'm calling your bluff," Andrew replies to her. "Because, there
is no way in hell I will be in a relationship with you. Not now, not ever."
Abby uneasily chuckles back to him before she takes a sip of her wine. "Then,
don't say I didn't warn you or your girlfriend of what will happen next."
Twin Peaks Law Courts "Mom, are you okay?" Paige
rushes into the foyer of the law courts, where Leah is standing with her hands
over her face. Paige immediately hugs her mother, who is clearly distraught.
"That was horrible," Leah cries to her daughter. "I know I
had to tell the truth but I never thought that it would be so ugly."
"I hope you're happy," Jeff announces as he comes into the foyer.
"Jeff, I," Leah starts to tell him. "I meant everything I
said, I never meant to hurt you. If I could go back in time
"
"But you can't! And now here I am fighting for my son!" "Mom,
Dad
please don't fight. Not here," Paige pleads with them.
"There's one thing that annoyed me the most about your testimony," Jeff
looks at Leah. "And that's when you said you were my wife."
"But, I am your wife," Leah protests. "These are for you,"
Jeff throws some documents her way. "They are divorce papers. You won't be
my wife for much longer." Next on One Day at a Time -
