Twin Peaks Law Courts

"This is not going the way I wanted it to," Meggan sighs heavily to Lukas as the custody hearing is on a short recess. There have been two witnesses so far, Leah and Brad, and in Meggan's mind, neither one helped her cause. Leah admitted that she knew the truth about Logan's paternity for months and then Brad revealed that she got him to lie as well for over a year. She realizes that the Judge must think that she is a horrible mother for getting people to lie for her but she knows that she has her reasons. "I'm so scared that Jeff is going to win this case."

"Hey, just wait until you get to have your say," Lukas tries to encourage her sister. "This isn't over yet. Everyone knew coming in that Brad and Leah lied but that makes them look just as bad. None of these lies change the fact that you're a wonderful mother to Logan."

Meggan pulls him into a hug. "Thank you so much for being here for me Lukas," she lets a tear fall down her cheek. "I couldn't get through this day without you."

"I wouldn't be anywhere else," he tells as they exit their embrace. "Let's get back inside, the Judge is likely about to call Jeff to the stand."

Twin Peaks University

"Andrew Pherson," Clark Henderson, the dean of the university, reads the name into the microphone as Andrew walks across the auditorium stage to collect his diploma. Andrew holds it up as the audience claps for him.

In the audience, Trenyce and Chris stand up while Andrew collects his diploma. They look at one another feeling so proud of the man they thought of as their own child for many years. After everything they have been through with Andrew, they never thought they would see this day arrive.

"I can't believe that he's really done it, he's graduated," Trenyce smile back to Chris as they sit back down as the dean continues to read more names of students who are graduating.

"He's pretty amazing," Chris replies to her. "I can't wait to hug him again after the ceremony."

"I hope we aren't embarrassing him."

"Nah, I think he's happy with the attention."

"Ladies and gentlemen," Clark says into the microphone. "Now that all the graduates are on the stage, it is time to recognize one of our own professors. Each graduation, the staff votes on a professor who has gone above and beyond with his or her students by helping them achieve their best possible grades and goals. This award is going to a very special woman who really gave her students special treatment. Please give me a warm welcome to Albertinah Michaels."

Chris and Trenyce again stand up and applaud as Albertinah walks across the stage to collect as small award with her name on it. She kisses Clarks cheeks and raises the award into the sky. Andrew watches her with a huge smile on his face.

In the audience, Abby rolls her eyes as the sight unfolding in front of her. She is still livid that Andrew slept with Albertinah and he refused to give them a chance. She shakes her head to herself. "This isn't over," she whispers to herself. "Not by along shot."

The Tower's; Floor Eight; Victoria's Condo

"This is the test I recommend to my patients that they use if they want to do a pregnancy test at home," Victoria tells Shane as she pulls a box out of her large purse and sets it on the counter in the kitchen of her condo. Victoria looks over at her lover and realizes that they are about to take the home test to see if she is, in fact, pregnant. She still has deep concern that she is with child as she doesn't think she is actually ready to be a mother yet. Shane, however, has expressed great interest in having another child.

"That's great," Shane tries to stay positive with his girlfriend. He almost can't believe that there is chance that he could be a father again but he really is excited at the idea. "I think we should take the test now and see what it says."

"You want to do it now? Like right now?"

Shane chuckles back to her. "Yea, why not? No time like the present to see if we are going to be parents, right?"

Victoria uneasily nods back to him. "Yea, you're right. We should know for sure."

She picks up the box and then looks at Shane. "Okay, here I go. Wish me luck."

"You don't need any luck," Shane winks back to her. "I'll be here when you're finished."

A nervous Victoria nods back to him before she leaves the kitchen and walks towards the washroom, her heart racing a million miles per second at the thought of learning if she is carrying a child or not.

The Sugarbowl

"Well this must be my lucky day to run into you for a second time," Helen announces to Robin as she approaches the coffee bar and sees Robin adding some sugar to her coffee. Helen remembers how they ran into one another earlier at the Pampa Grill and they shared words over Adam; Helen has decided that she is going to try to fight for the man that she loves. She doesn't believe that Adam and Robin are meant to be together, not after she and Adam have been through together. In her mind, she and Adam belong together.

Robin grabs a lid for her coffee and puts it on her cup. "You can say that again."

"Look, I'm sorry for our conversation earlier," Helen tells her as Robin looks back at her in surprise. "I don't want to be mean or snarky with you."

"Nor me with you," Robin replies to her quickly. "But, the fact of the matter is, Adam and I are still a couple. That hasn't changed."

"Then why didn't you just say that you had forgiven him earlier?" Helen asks her. "I think it's because you haven't forgiven him yet."

"I'll remind you of something," Robin looks at her with intent. "And that is that my relationship with Adam is none of your business, Helen. You need to understand that."

"And you need to understand this," Helen shoots back to her immediately. "I still love Adam. I've never stopped loving Adam. He is the father of my child and the love of my life. So, his life is my business. I won't back down from that, so you better get used to it."

"If and when I decide to forgive Adam," Robin moves closer to him. "I will be in a relationship with him. Not both of you. So, for the last time, back the hell off."

Before Helen can reply, Robin storms past her in a huff. Helen gets a sly grin on her face. "I will get Adam back. I am sure of it," Helen whispers to herself.

Barcode

Leah continues to sit at the bar with her martini in front of her as she drowns her sorrows from her brutal testimony at the custody hearing for Logan earlier. Of course, after she was off the witness stand, Jeff served her with divorce papers, which is also contributing to her mood. She checks her phone but doesn't see a response from Robbie yet; she had texted her ex-husband to join her for a drink but he hasn't replied yet or showed up yet. She wishes he would arrive since she could use the company right now. Someone to listen to her about her struggles of the day.

"Fancy meeting you here," a voice calls out from behind her.

Leah turns and sees Cory standing behind her. "Cory, what are you doing here?"

Cory sits next to her and orders a beer from the bartender. "I need a drink," he admits to her. "I just came from the Calimo mansion. I gave Natasha divorce papers."

"Oh Cory," Leah puts her hand on his leg. "I'm sorry. I know that it couldn't have been easy."

"It was easier than I thought it would be," Cory admits to her before he takes a sip of his beer. "Natasha knew that I wanted to end my marriage. Anyways, what are you doing here drinking the day away?"

"I testified at Logan's custody hearing this morning," she reveals to him.

"How did it go?"

"Not well," Leah admits to him. "I had to admit that I knew that Jeff was Logan's father and didn't say anything. The look on Jeff's face…"

"Hey, we all make mistakes. You are paying for them now."

"In more ways than one."

"What does that mean?"

"After my testimony, Jeff threw, literally, divorce papers at me," Leah admits to him. "I had to pick them up off the floor and read them outside the court room."

"Wow, I had no idea he could be so vengeful," Cory replies to her. "How are you?"

"As well as to be expected," she takes another sip of her martini. "Look at us, both ending our marriages in the same day."

Cory uneasily chuckles back to her. "You will bounce back from this Leah," he tells her as he looks at her. "You're a smart, beautiful woman, this isn't the end of you."

Leah looks back at him and smiles to him. "That's nice of you to say."

"I'm being honest."

Leah and Cory continue to look at one another. Before either one knows it, their lips are touching. They separate for a moment before he kisses her again.

When they part ways again, he licks his lips and looks at her. "Let's get out of here," he says with lust in his eyes.

"Are you sure?"

"What's holding us back?"

"You're right," Leah nods back to him before she kisses him again.

Cory throws some money on the bar and they scurry off together. The bar door closes behind them and the bartender picks up the cash from the bar. The bar door then opens again and Robbie appears. He scans the venue for Leah but doesn't see her.

He pulls his phone out of his pocket and re-reads Leah's message, confirming that she said she was at Barcode. "I must have missed her," Robbie sighs as he puts his phone back into his pocket.

Twin Peaks University

"Congratulations," Andrew walks up to Albertinah, who is standing in the hallway following the graduation ceremony. "I had no idea you were up for the excellence award."

Albertinah uneasily chuckles back to him. "They told me in advance so I could be backstage but it was a pleasant surprise. Congratulations to you too, by the way."

"Thanks, I'm excited to have this chapter of my life be over with," Andrew looks back at her. "That includes whatever happened with us."

"We can't talk about that right now."

"I know," Andrew nods back to her. "Just know that I'm not going to pressure you about us anymore. I get that what we had is over now."

"Thanks Andrew, I really appreciate that."

"Let's go find Chris and Trenyce and celebrate, shall we?"

"I'd love too," Albertinah purses her lips back to him.

Meanwhile, Clark Henderson is still on the stage on the auditorium helping clean up from the ceremony. Abby slowly walks up to the stage and looks at the dean. She feels her heart racing but she knows exactly what she has to do.

"Mr. Henderson," she calls out, causing the dean to turn and look at her.

"Ah, Ms. Lawson, I'm sorry that I didn't get to call your name, maybe next semester?" he asks her.

"Maybe," she walks up the stairs to face him on the stage. "Do you have a moment for me? There's something I need to tell you and it can't wait."

Clark arches his eyebrow back to her. "Of course, anything for one of my students."

Twin Peaks Law Courts

Franklin Ross looks over at Jeff, who is sitting in the witness stand as he was just sworn in under oath. Jeff has been called as the latest witness in Logan's custody hearing.

"Can you please state your full name for the record?" Franklin asks Jeff.

"Jeffrey Claus," Jeff replies to the lawyer.

"Ms. Kam, your witness," Franklin tells Lois Kam, who stands up from her chair.

"Thank you your honor," Lois replies to the Judge. "Mr. Claus, you were married to Ms. Richardson, is that correct?"

Jeff looks over at Meggan before he replies. "My wife, Leah, was presumed dead in an explosion," Jeff starts to explain to the court. "While I was mourning her, I ended up falling in love with Meggan. And, yes, we were married. However, our marriage was invalid as Leah was alive and well."

"I see," Lois tells him. "After Leah came back, surely your feelings for Meggan didn't go away?"

"Of course not," Jeff tells her. "Meggan and I still loved one another a lot. It was a very confusing time in our lives."

"In the end, however, you ended up reuniting with your wife, Leah?"

"That's right," Jeff nods back to her. "While Leah and I were figuring out life together again, Meggan and I struggled with our feelings."

"And that's when you had your affair with her?"

"I'm embarrassed that I cheated on my wife but yes this is when Meggan and I slept together. It only happened once…"

"But she ended up pregnant?"

"Yes," Jeff replies to the court. "I didn't find out until later and by then she told me that Brad Lawson was the father of the baby. I had no reason to think differently."

"When did you finally learn the truth?" Lois asks him next.

"Last year," Jeff says back to her. "Leah's mother had realized she was keeping a secret and I overheard them talking about it. I confronted Leah and she finally admitted to me that Logan was my child."

"And how did that make you feel?"

"I was devastated and livid all at the same time. The fact that Meggan and Leah would lie to me about my son is unforgivable. It's why I want custody of my son; I need to make up for lost time. I need to know that I can have a relationship with him again."

"No further questions your honor."

Josh Levitt stands up and looks at Jeff. "Before you knew the truth, did you think that Meggan was being a poor mother to Logan?"

"I don't remember before knowing the truth."

"Really? Because you just shared a lot of details about what lead up to the truth about Logan coming out, Mr. Claus," Josh moves closer to him. "So, I'll as you again. Before you knew the truth, did you think Meggan was a bad mother to Logan?"

"No," Jeff rolls his eyes. "But a good mother sure as hell wouldn't lie about her son's paternity!"

"Objection your honor," Josh yells back at him.

"I will strike that last comment from my decision," Franklin announces to everyone. "Mr. Claus, please answer the questions and do not add your own commentary."

"I won't say that Meggan was a good mother," Jeff protests. "She lied! This entire mess was created because she lied!"

"Order in the court!" Franklin smashes his mallet down repeatedly. "Mr. Claus, one more outburst and I will hold you in contempt, do I make myself clear?"

Jeff slowly nods back to him as he feels his heart rate trying to come back to normal. He looks over at Meggan, who has tears filled in her eyes. Then he looks over at Paige, who looks horrified by the outburst.

"I'm so sorry," Jeff says back to everyone. "I'm just…I'm feeling so lost by this entire mess. Nothing is as it should be. Nothing."
