Twin Peaks Law Courts

"You're doing great," Robbie looks at Brooke while the trial is on a quick recess. He is still there to support his former lover as he hopes that she is let off of these charges as he knows that Brooke had her reasons for buying Cheresa from the black market. As he looks at her, he can't help but remember how Greg was praising his wife for giving his family Cheresa; the way Brooke was looking back at Greg, Robbie thought that she still had feelings for him, which is confirmation to him that whatever they had is long over. Still, he can't help but have feelings for her still.

"Thanks, I can't tell you how nerve racking this has been," Brooke admits to him. "Thank you for being here. I know it's a long day for you."

"I wouldn't be anywhere else," he winks back to her. "And, it was nice that Greg said so many pleasant things about you."

"It really was," she nods back to him. "He has been supportive throughout this entire lead up to the trial. I'm glad I have the support of my family."

"Speaking of, I won't keep in case you want to chat with them," Robbie tells her. "Just know that I'm here, if you need me."

"Thank you," Brooke replies to him as he walks away. She looks over at her children, who are hugging Greg. "How are you guys holding up?"

"I think it's going pretty well, don't you?" Abby asks as she looks back at her mother. "The questions seem to be favoring you."

"I can only hope that it continues that way," Brooke chuckles back to her. "Brad, Cheresa, how are you two doing?"

"I'm ready for this day to be over," Cheresa admits to her. "Hearing all of this stuff being mentioned time and time again is really difficult."

"I'm ready too," Brad nods back to her, as Cheresa gives him the cold shoulder. "I just want this entire mess to be behind us."

"Looks like we are about to be one step closer to that," Greg chimes in as he notes Franklin returning to the court room to continue the proceedings. "Good luck Brooke."

Brooke uneasily turns back around and looks at the Judge, hoping that he can see that she wants to be back with her family; no other option will be a good outcome.

Twin Peaks Credit Union

"Thank you for getting us in so quickly," Meggan smiles over to Lucie Royer, one of the managers at the local bank in Twin Peaks. Meggan was pleased that the bank had an opening to see her and Lukas so quickly after she called to set up an appointment; the sooner that they are able to get their hands on the money that is sitting in Frederick's GIC's. She just hopes that this will be the end of Craig's rape charges against Lukas.

"It was my pleasure," Lucie smiles back to Meggan and then looks over at Lukas. "Your father was always one of our most valued customers. I still can't believe he's gone…"

"He is one of the reasons that we are here today," Lukas tells her. "Our father left us some GIC's, I have the account numbers here," Lukas passes her a file folder with Frederick's banking information. "We want to withdraw the money."

Lucie arches her eyebrow as she opens the file and looks at the information. She starts typing into her computer. "I can see that these are GIC's, there's a lot of money in these accounts. Are you sure you want to withdraw all the funds?"

"Yes, we are sure," Meggan purses her lips together. "We need 10 million for an investment."

"I see," Lucie replies to her. "The problem with a GIC is that it is a locked in investment product. If you withdraw the funds before the maturity date, you will have to pay a penalty."

"How much is the penalty?" Lukas uneasily asks back to her.

"It looks like it will be about 7 million because that's how much interest would be lost," Lucie explains to them.

"What? That's a lot of money," Meggan gasps back to her before she looks at Lukas.

"It is Meg," Lukas nods back to her. "But we need that ten million regardless. Dad's GIC's has enough to support both. Right?"

"He's right but why don't you too discuss this? I'll be outside," Lucie tells them as she stands up and walks out of the room so the siblings can have some privacy to discuss what the best options are.

"Meg, come on," Lukas pleads with his sister. "We need this money to pay off Craig."

"I know, I just didn't think that we'd have such a high cost to it. It's almost the amount that we are withdrawing."

"We had forgotten about these accounts," Lukas reminds her. "We really aren't losing anything?"

"You're right," Meggan nods back to him. "We need to get these charges dropped. Okay, you've convinced me … let's withdraw these funds."

Dominick's Townhouse

Dominick walks over to the desk in the living room of his home and picks up his phone. He sighs heavily when he doesn't see a message from his wife; he was supposed to meet Eva at the townhouse so they could go on a romantic lunch date together at the Riverside Delicatessen. He knows that Eva has been feeling like a second fiddle in his life lately so he wanted to try to make it up to her. However, she is rather late and he hasn't heard from her yet.

"Where are you Eva?" he whispers to himself as he looks at his phone again. "It's not like you to be late. This lunch was so important to you, why would you be standing me up?"

He sends her a quick text message hoping that she will reply sooner rather than later. He recalls how she recently told him that Will was out of jail and they had a drink together. He told his wife to stay away from Will but he can't help but wonder if Will is the reason she is running late.

"That better not be the case," he says to himself. "I told you to stay away from Will, Eva. You better do just that."

The Pampa Grill

"I better leave now if I'm going to get to my lunch date with Dominick," Eva says as she picks up her glass of wine and takes a sip of it. She had been looking at future possible vacation destinations on her phone with a glass of wine when the time seemingly escaped her. She has been looking forward to the lunch with Dominick for some time now because she has felt like he has been putting work and Felicia before her.

"We keep running into one another," Will smiles as he reaches her table and sits across from her. "You bought me a drink the other day, maybe I could return the favor?"

Eva uneasily chuckles back to him. "I'd love that but I am just on my way out, I'm having lunch with my husband."

"Ah, come on Eva," Will replies to her. "One drink won't hurt? We still have so much catching up to do."

Eva looks back at him and feels herself feeling flattered that he is taking so much interest in her; she hasn't felt that way in a long time from a man.

"Well, I suppose one quick drink won't hurt, would it?"

"Not at all, another white wine?"

"I'd love one," she purses her lips together.

"Perfect," Will smiles back to her. "It's been so long since I could enjoy the company of a beautiful woman, I need to take advantage when I can."

"You flatter me, Will."

"I'm being honest, Eva. You are just as beautiful now as you were when we were together," he looks into her eyes as she starts to blush a little.

The Victors Mansion

"You were gone most of the morning," Vinny looks up from his book as Victoria moves into the living room of the lavish estate that he owns. He knows that his new found roommate and lover has been exploring a lot of the large mansion since she's moved in; he's happy that she is getting used to the space but he does have it in the back of his mind that he has to be careful that she doesn't accidently find a secret passage that would lead to Daisy and Brett, who are still being held hostage.

"I know," Victoria moves up to the bar and pours herself a glass of water. "I just can't get over how huge this place is. I know you said it was large but being here is another story. It's like something out of a fairy-tale."

Vinny chuckles back to her. "Now can you see why I wanted you to live with me? I have all this space and there's no possible way that I can use it all on my own."

"I still appreciate it," Victoria purses her lips together. "I have to ask you something though."

"You can ask me anything," he stands up and moves closer to her.

"Years ago, when you were being held hostage here," Victoria looks back at him. "There was a secret passage way, many of them in fact. That's how Robbie was able to find you in the cage and where Dave died."

"That's right."

"So, whatever happened to the secret passages? Where are they now?" Victoria asks him causing him to become uneasy.

"I had them removed," he immediately lies to her. "I didn't want the risk of someone else getting locked or trapped in those tunnels."

"Really? That seems like a lot of work?" Victoria asks him back.

Vinny shrugs back to her. "I don't know, I think the contractors just sealed all of the entrances. I know I feel a lot better knowing that they are gone."

Victoria pulls him into a hug. "I'm sorry, I should have known that talking about the tunnels would be upsetting for you."

"Its fine," Vinny holds her closer to him. "We don't have to worry about them anymore."

The Park

Jeff slowly strolls through the park trying to clear his head. He was at the court house earlier when he encountered Robbie and revealed to him that Meggan has left him since she learned that he went to try to make his marriage to Leah work the night after Logan's custody hearing. Of course, that's when Jeff first saw Leah in bed with Cory and as a result, he went to Meggan and pleaded with her to make their relationship work, which they did until the truth came out. Since then, he has seen Leah and Cory together again, despite her telling him that she would leave him if they could be together. On top of it all, Robbie told him that he got what he deserved when Meggan left him.

"I guess he's right," he whispers to himself. "I did get what I deserved. I played both sides but it doesn't make it any damn easier."

He pauses as he wonders if he should reach out to Meggan again to see if she would forgive him. He shakes his head quickly as he realizes that it's likely a lost cause. "I just can't believe that I lose my wife, Meggan and my son as a result of this," he tells himself. "All because Leah gets to move on with Cory, of all people."

He looks ahead and freezes again. At the bench in front of him, Cory and Leah are sitting together side by side laughing at something one of them said. He squints his eyes clearly upset by what he is seeing.

"It's not fair that she gets to move on like nothing ever happened and here I am …" he says to himself. "It's not fair at all."

Twin Peaks Law Courts

"You may be seated Mrs. Lawson," Franklin tells Brooke, who just swore to tell the truth while she is on the stand. The Judge knows that he has to hear her side of the story about how she purchased a child from the black market all those years ago.

Brooke slowly sits in the witness stand and tries to calm her racing heartrate as she can feel her palms start to sweat a little. She knows that a lot of the outcome of this trial will depend on what she has to say.

"When your husband was on the stand a short time ago," Franklin starts to explain to her. "He explained your ordeal of finding out you couldn't have any more children and then you ended up buying a child. Is that your recollection as well?"

"For the most part, yes," Brooke nods back to him. "The key piece to me was that we were parent's second choice in the adoption process three times. The fact that we were so close but so far really hit me hard."

"How did it come about that you found a child that was on the black market?"

"I didn't know that it was a black market child," Brooke explains to him. "I just ended up meeting a man who said he could get me a child. I thought I was paying him for his services not buying it from an illegal market, you have to believe that."

"And not once did you think that it might be illegal to do this?" Franklin asks her sternly.

"I mean," Brooke's voice cracks. "After the fact, it crossed my mind, of course. But at the time, I wasn't thinking about it, no. I was just so desperate to have a child. I wanted to have another baby. Greg and I both did."

"Cheresa did claim that you two were great parents to her," Franklin nods back to her.

"I love her like she is my own flesh and blood," Brooke looks at her daughter in the crowd. "I would do anything for her, and Greg feels the exact same way."

"You and your husband, are you still happy together?"

Brooke sighs back to him. "The last 8 months or so have been very difficult for us," she admits to him. "But, at the end of the day, he is my husband. And, I love him very much. I would do anything to make it up to him, to have our family back together."

The words sting Robbie, who slowly stands up and walks out of the court room. He didn't realize that Brooke admitting her love for Greg would hit him like that but they have. He doesn't think he can listen to another word.

"I will do whatever I can to make this right," Brooke continues to tell Franklin. "But, at the end of the day, I did do something illegal. But, I want you to know, I want everyone to know, that I Would do it all again," she says as a tear falls down her face. "Because, Cheresa has been the best addition to our family. I can't imagine my family, our life without her. So, if that makes me guilty, then so damn be it!"
