The Cascade Apartments; Apartment 607; Cassie's Apartment

"I got here as soon as I could," Helen tells Max as she moves into Cassie's former apartment. Helen recalls getting an urgent message from Max telling her that Adam was hyperventilating. Helen has no idea what could have caused Adam to react that way, but she hopes that he is okay. She knows that Adam is still recovering from the car accident that he was in with Chris, which resulted in some short term memory loss. "How is he?"

"I think he's okay now," Max replies to her. "He's resting on the sofa. I'm sorry I troubled you, I didn't know who else to call."

"You did the right thing, Max," Helen tells him. "Thank you for calling me."

Helen moves into the living room and sees Adam laying on the sofa with his eyes closed. She puts her hand on his forehand to ensure he doesn't have a fever and then looks back at Max.

"You can go if you want," Helen says. "I can wait for him to wake up and then take him home."

"Are you sure? I don't mind waiting with you."

"I thought you'd be going to the party?"

"Party? What party?" Max asks her back in surprise. He hadn't heard that a party was happening in Twin Peaks that night.

"Oh," Helen bites her tongue. "I thought that you would have known since you helped save Jacob and Paige in Banff," Helen continues. "I got a text from Natasha telling me that they were throwing a small welcome home party for Jacob and Paige, it's at the Calimo mansion."

Max shakes his head in disbelief. After all, he was the one who helped save Paige and Jacob's lives and now, he is the one suffering because his mother is dead. Yet, Jacob and Paige's families want to celebrate.

"I think I will take you up on the offer," Max looks back at Helen. "I'm going to take off. Make yourself at home until Adam wakes up."

"I will and thanks again for calling me," Helen nods back to him. "Oh, and Max," she calls causing him to stop at the doorway. "I am sorry about Cassie."

Max forces a smile on his face. "Thanks Helen."

Twin Peaks General Hospital

"How is Abby doing?" Cheresa asks Brooke and Greg as they stand in Abby's hospital room with Brad. She can't believe that Abby's baby was born dead; she feels incredibly sad for her sister, who was excited to become a mother. Of course, Cheresa is also still grieving the murder of Shelley, so she is feeling like there is a lot of death that is surrounding her right now. Sometimes, she wishes she understood why these things would happen to her and her family. "I can't imagine going in for a regular c-section, only to awake and learn that the baby isn't alive."

"She's trying to be brave," Brooke tells her children. "But, I can tell that she is devastated. I just don't know how to support her right now. None of us expected this news from the doctor when he came out of surgery."

"We have to do everything we can for her," Greg tells his family. "Abby will need us more now than she ever has before."

"I just wish I understood why this would happen," Brad admits to everyone. "Just when Abby decided to raise and keep the baby, this happens? Life doesn't seem fair, does it?"

Brooke lets a tear fall down her eye. "No, life isn't fair. But we have to try to stay positive for Abby."

Meanwhile, over at the hospital bed, Abby sits with her damp, red eyes looking at her family. She can only imagine what they are saying about her now that her baby is dead. She can't believe that her child is gone; she doesn't even understand how it happened. She went into labour and was told that she needed a c-section; when she awoke, Bryce told her that the umbilical cord was wrapped about the baby's neck and it was dead. She puts her hand to her stomach and bites her lip as her eyes fill with water.

"You were always so healthy in the checkups," she whispers to herself as a tear falls down her cheek. "You were supposed to be here with me now. You were supposed to live a long, happy, healthy life."

She wipes another tear from her cheek and turns to look into the hallway of the hospital room. She immediately feels her blood boil when she can see Albertinah holding a weeping Andrew. She scuffs at herself knowing that Andrew never wanted the child in the first place.

"Damn you, Andrew," she whispers to herself. "Damn you straight to hell."

The Calimo Mansion

Natasha looks at her phone and sees a text from Tyler telling her how much he enjoyed making love to her earlier in the evening. She puts her phone away as she sees the crowded room in the Calimo mansion as she has put together a small welcome home party for Paige and Jacob; she doesn't know what having sex with Tyler again means, but right now she has to focus on her son and the fact that he didn't die in Banff. She can deal with the fact that she and Tyler had sex again at another time.

She grabs a glass of champagne and moves up to Jacob and pulls him into a hug. "I'm so glad that you're home, darling," she tells him.

"Thanks Mom," Jacob smiles back to her as they exit their embrace. "You didn't have to go to all this trouble."

"Yea, Mrs. Calimo, this seems so extravagant," Paige chimes in to her, as she looks around the living room. "But thank you for the surprise party."

"Nothing is too much for my son," Natasha caresses his cheek. "I'm just so glad you're okay. I don't know what I would have done…"

"You don't have to worry about that," Jacob replies to her quickly. "Paige and I are okay and we will be going forward. And we don't have to worry about Cassie, she's dead.""

"There you are," Leah and Jeff say to Paige as they approach her. "You look stunning."

Paige hugs her parents before they look at Natasha. "Thanks for putting this together, Nat," Jeff looks at her. "It wasn't required but it is nice that we can celebrate with our kids."

"Don't mention it," Natasha tells them. "Now, let's get you some champagne!"

"I'm so proud of you, you know that right?" Shane hugs Jacob, as he just got the party and wanted to see his son.

"Oh Dad," Jacob chuckles back to him. "I didn't do anything other than almost die. You, Jeff and Max are the real heros of the day."

"Thank God Max figured out where you and Paige were," Shane nods back to him. "I'm worried about what would have happened if we had arrived even 5 minutes later."

"You don't have to worry about that anymore," Jacob says. "Paige and I are just fine."

"I'm not sure this is the time or the place for this," Kim giggles to Robbie as they each hold a glass of champagne in the back hallway. The hallway connects the kitchen and the living room together; the Calimo's aren't in this hallway very often as it is mostly used by Rosario and the other staff in the mansion. However, Robbie saw Kim at the party and pulled into the hallway so he could kiss her. He knows that he has to still keep their recent decent into being lovers a secret for now; he can't imagine how Natasha would feel if she knew that he was sleeping with their former step mother.

"Are you complaining about my lips being on yours?" Robbie pulls back and looks into her eyes. "Cause, I'm definitely enjoying it."

Kim runs her hands over his firm chest through his tuxedo. "I'm not complaining at all," she admits to him. "I am just worried that someone will see us, thats all. The last thing we need is for some drama to happen at this party."

"I can't disagree with that," Robbie tells her. "How about you sneak into my bedroom later after Natasha is asleep? We can be quiet?"

"You're hopeless," she says as they move to the exit way.

Outside the hallway, Natasha freezes as she is stunned by what she overheard. "Robbie and Kim?" she asks herself as she grabs another glass of champagne, needing another drink after what she just heard. After everything that she, Robbie and Kim have been through since Bob's death, the last thing she expected to hear was that Robbie was sleeping with their former step mother. "What the hell is going on here?"

She scurries away before Kim and Robbie emerge from the hallway. "Okay, best behavior," Kim looks back at him. "And, I'll make it up to you later."

Robbie smiles back to her. "I'll be on my very, very best behaviour, I promise!"

"Hey everyone," Jacob says loudly to everyone, getting the guests attention as they circle around him and Paige. "We just wanted to say a few words."

"First, we want to thank Natasha for throwing this party for us," Paige looks at Natasha, who is still reeling from learning about Robbie and Kim. "I also want to thank my parents, Leah and Jeff for all of their support. I love you guys."

"We know our relationship hasn't always made people the happiest," Jacob continues to say. "But, Paige and I love each other and almost dying has made us realize that nothing else really matters. So, to love!"

"To love!" the guests chime in as they all raise their glasses and take a sip of their drinks.

"Bravo!" a voice calls out from the entry way to the living room. The crowd turns and sees a fuming Max slowly walking into the room. "You are all here celebrating but you are forgetting one thing, my mother is dead! You couldn't even wait until after her memorial service to throw a party!? What is wrong with you all?"

"Max," Paige rushes up to him. "We are sorry, we didn't mean to be insensitive."

"You didn't mean too?" Max chuckles back to her. "Fooled me, because that's exactly what you're doing. You know, I wasn't even invited tonight and without me, you and Jacob would be dead!"

"Hey Max, come on, calm down," Jeff moves up to him, not sure that the public outburst is really necessary.

"Don't tell me what to do," Max yells back to him before he looks at Paige. "I would expect this from these people," he points to Jacob, Shane, Leah, Jeff and Natasha as he looks at Paige. "But, not you Paige. I thought you were different. I guess I was wrong."

He turns and starts to rush out of the party but he stops at the doorway and looks back at Paige and Jacob. "Oh and by the way, you're welcome for saving your lives."

Paige gulps as she watches Max leave before Jacob comes up behind her and puts his arms on her shoulders. "Don't let him get to you," he whispers to her. "He's just upset about his Mom."

***

A short time later, Natasha takes a sip of champagne when she sees Kim leave the living room and move into the foyer of the mansion. Natasha decides that she is going to confront her former step mother and makes a beeline for the foyer. Once she arrives, however, she stops when she sees Eva pulling Jacob into a hug. The sight immediately makes her get tears in her eyes as she and Eva have been at odds for weeks because Natasha knew about Kim's plan to pay Will to seduce her mother. Eva was livid with her for not telling her what Kim was up too at the time.

"Mom, you came," Natasha wipes her eye dry as she moves up to Eva and Jacob.

"I couldn't stay away," Eva replies to her as she grabs Jacob's hand. "My grandson was almost killed by that monster, I had to come and make sure he was okay."

"I'm fine," Jacob chuckles back to her. "I wish everyone would stop fussing over me."

"We will never stop," Natasha tells him. "You better get used to it."

Eva looks at Natasha. "It's true, a mother never stops loving her children, regardless of what has happened."

"Mom?" Natasha gasps back to her, surprised by her change of heart.

"I can't say all is forgiven," Eva looks at her. "But, you're my daughter, I love you."

Natasha lets another tear fall down her cheek as she pulls Eva into a hug. "I love you too Mom, so very much."

The Cascade Apartments; Apartment 607; Cassie's Apartment

Helen sits next to Adam on the sofa and watches as he rests his eyes. She is so relieved that he will be okay from his panic attack; she is so glad that Max called her to ensure that he is okay.

"You look so handsome while you're sleeping," Helen caresses his face. "I wish we could stay pretending to be married forever, Adam. I wish you still loved me the way you did when we were married."

Adam stirs a little in his sleep. "I would make sure you were the happiest guy in the world."

Adam slowly opens his eyes and sees Helen sitting next to him. "Helen? What happened?"

"You overreacted," Helen tells him. "You're fine, I'll take you home when you're ready to leave, okay? Just remember to stay calm."

"Thank you for coming," Adam leans up and kisses her on the lips. "I have the best wife in the world."

Helen smiles back to him. "I have the best husband," she kisses him back. The kiss suddenly intensifies until they part and look at one another. "I need you, Adam."

Adam pulls his shirt off and kisses Helen again. "I want you too Helen," he says as their kisses continue and he crawls on top of her.

Twin Peaks General Hospital

"So, everything is fine? The baby, he's healthy?" Lukas looks over at Bryce, who just finished a check up on the baby boy that Donovan and Lukas are adopting from Chantel, the young woman who gave birth to the child a short time ago.

"The baby is perfectly healthy," Bryce smiles back to Lukas and Donovan. "With the adoption papers signed, the only thing you have to do before you're free to leave is fill out the birth certificate. I've completed the portion about the birth mother, but you will have to sign your names and put on the baby's name."

Donovan looks at the baby in his arms and then over at Lukas. "A name? How is it possible we did all this planning but didn't discuss names?"

Lukas chuckles back to him. "I guess that was an oversight on our part, huh?"

"There's no rush," Bryce replies to them. "I'll leave this with you. Once you're finished, leave it at the nurses station and we will file the paper work."

"Thank you so much doctor," Donovan tells Bryce. "We owe this little guy to you and the team here at the hospital."

"It was my pleasure," Bryce nods back him. "Congratulations to you both."

Lukas sits next to Donovan after Bryce leaves the room. "I can't believe we have a child," Lukas admits to him as he looks at the sleeping baby. "What name jumps out at you when you see the baby?"

Donovan looks back at him. "This has been such a whirlwind," Donovan tells him. "But, I was thinking about Oliver. Oliver Twist is one of my favorite books and if it wasn't for us, this little guy would also be an orphan."

"Oliver?" Lukas asks him back. "Maybe Olly for short? Yea, I like that. Little Olly, it is!"

"Hey Olly," Donovan kisses the baby's forehead. "Are you ready to go home? Huh? You wanna come home with your Daddy's?"

"I think that was a yes," Lukas chuckles back to him as they notice the baby yawn. "Come on, let's go."

"Hey, I waited until your family left before I came in," Andrew announces as he opens the door to Abby's hospital room. He looks at the woman who just gave birth to his child and wonders how she is coping with the news that the baby didn't survive; he knows that he news was like a punch to his gut. He can't believe that the child they were expecting didn't make it through the delivery; this was not part of their plan at all.

"Did you?" Abby wipes her eyes with some tears. "I don't know why you're even here, Andrew."

"What do you mean?" Andrew moves closer to her bed. "Our baby Abby just passed away. Where else would I be?"

Abby glares back at him. "Our baby died? Our baby, Andrew? You mean the fucking child you never wanted? You always wanted me to get rid of him! You even asked me to abort him, remember?"

Andrew gets tears in his eyes. "I'm so sorry," he chokes on his words. "I never meant for this to happen," he says as tears pour out of his eyes.

"But it did happen!" Abby yells at him. "Now, I have to deal with the loss of my child. My baby is dead!"

"Our child Abby."

"No!" Abby leans up and hits him on the shoulder repeatedly. "My baby, you wanted it dead! You wanted this! You wanted my baby dead!"

Andrew holds her as she collapses in tears in the bed. Sobbing, Abby wraps her arms around him as she weeps uncontrollably. "My baby…" she cries as Andrew holds her tightly. "My baby boy!"

Bryce opens the door to the staff room and leans up against the wall as he shuts his eyes. He can't believe everything that has happened in the last few hours. He moves to the fridge and opens it, pulling out a bottle of water. He cracks open the bottle and takes a big sip of it. He looks to the door as he opens slowly.

"What the hell are you doing in here?" Bryce asks Vinny, who locks the door behind him. "If anyone catches you in here, you will be in trouble."

"I'm not worried," Vinny waves his hand back to him. "I need to know what happened. Is everything on track?"

Bryce sighs back to him. "Yes," he nods back to him. "There was a young woman who gave birth to a stillborn baby," Bryce explains to him. "She was going to give her baby up for adoption. That's when I told Abby she needed a c-section even though she didn't need one; she could have delivered naturally. But her being under in surgery, it was easier to tell her the baby was dead."

"So, you gave her the stillborn?" Vinny asks with a sparkle in his eyes.

Bryce uneasily nods back to him. "God help me," he runs his hand through his hair. "She thinks her baby is dead!"

"And the other woman has Abby's child?"

"No," Bryce shakes his head back to him. "She gave him up for adoption. A gay couple adopted Abby's baby."

Vinny chuckles back to him. "This is perfect," Vinny nods back to him. "I knew I wasn't going to let Andrew raise a child when he wasn't ready. Everything worked out just right."

"I don't know if I can keep this secret," Bryce admits to him. "The look on Abby's face…"

"You will keep your mouth shut," Vinny moves up closer to him. "Never forget that I know who you're really working for, and if that secret ever got out…"

"I know!" Bryce groans. "I just hate that a woman thinks her child is dead but is actually being raised by another couple. It doesn't seem fair."

"Life isn't fair," Vinny says ack to him. "We have ensured the future of that child is bright. Don't worry about Bryce, this is for the best, I know it in my soul. You and I, we will take this secret with us to our graves."
