Previously on One Day At A Time
- Leah exposed Robin’s pregnancy as a fake! Robbie and Leah also learned that Robin drugged Robbie, and they didn’t have sex.
- Leah’s father Dominick came to town. He and Robin had blood work done, revealing that Robin is his daughter! Leah embraced her sister
- Cory and Natasha returned home early after learning about Vinny’s death; Natasha found Adam waiting for her. They shared a good bye kiss
- Meggan struggled with Vinny’s death
- Robbie investigated the murder; evidence pointed to Meggan, so Robbie arrested her

Scene 1
Setting: Twin Peaks General Hospital; Shane’s Office

Shane sits in his office, trying to write up some reports. His concentration is lost however. He continues to think about Vinny. He was the doctor who tried to save Vinny. He failed. A tear rolls down Shane’s cheek. "Can’t save them all" he whispers, wiping away the tear.

Suddenly Shane has a flash of the wedding

[Flash]

Suddenly Shane arrives.

"What’s going on?" he asks Victoria.

"Nothing. Vinny and I were just saying hello" Victoria says, beginning to walk to Shane. Victoria turns to Vinny "We will talk at the reception. Hopefully we can talk before I talk to your wife, Meggan the police officer" Victoria winks a Vinny.

Victoria and Shane enter the church again.

[End of Flash]

"Odd, how Victoria was so mysterious with Vinny. What was she doing?"

Scene 2
Setting: Twin Peaks Police Department; the holding cell

Meggan sits alone in the cell. Her fingers are black from the finger printing. Her eyes are dark, as her mascara has run through her tears. She turns her head and sees a man standing at her cell. The man is tall and has his back to her cell. He is talking on his phone. Meggan gets up. She recognizes the man. It’s Chief Jones. Jones shuts his phone, and turns to face Meggan.

"I see you are awake. How’d you sleep?" he asks

"How do you think? I’ve been arrested for the murder of my husband."

"Yes. Last night you got here pretty late. You can have your phone call now"

Jones unlocks the door, and Meggan walks out. Meggan notices higher security around here. "Why the higher security?"

"McQuillan. Jackson, he escaped"

"What?! Chief we have to do something!"

"Officials around the border have been notified. And Meggan, you have your own worries."

They arrive in Jones’ office. Meggan sits, and calls Natasha’s cell phone.

Scene 3
Setting: The Towers; Floor One; Kim’s Apartment

Kim is finishing her breakfast when she hears the doorbell go. "I wonder who it is" Kim whispers to herself. Kim walks over to the door, and sees Robbie.

"Robbie! Hi"

"Hi Kim. Can I come in?"

Kim opens her arms, as Robbie enters. Kim shuts the door.

"Listen Natasha told me what happened. I’m so sorry. If there’s anything I can do..." Robbie says.

"Thank you Robbie."

"I have some bad news Kim."

"Oh no. What now"

"It’s Jackson. He’s escaped from prison"

"What? Escaped! How? Why didn’t you stop him?"

"Everything will be alright Kim. Trust me. Officials all around California have been notified. He won’t last very long."

Kim rushes into Robbie’s arms. "Please keep him away from me Robbie, please"

Scene 4
Setting: The Towers, Floor Twelve, Adam’s Apartment

Adam washes the rest of the shaving cream off his face. He looks in the mirror, and makes sure he didn’t miss a spot. ‘Natasha always liked cleanly shaven men’ he thinks to himself. ‘Now, if I could only find a way to get rid of Cory. Just long enough for Natasha to remember the good times’

Adam walks into the bedroom and gets dressed. He racks his brain trying to think of something. Anything.

"That’s it!" he finally says. "That’ll get Cory out of town long enough"

Scene 5
Setting: Twin Peaks Police Department; The Holding Cell

Natasha arrives at the cell. The guard opens the door.

"Leave us please" Natasha instructs the guard.

"Natasha! I’m so glad you came!" Meggan says, hugging her friend.

"What happened Meggan. When Cory and I left the wedding, everything was fine"

"It was. I don’t know what happened Nat. I left. I went back to see Vinny. He told me he wanted a divorce. I was crushed" Meggan says, sitting down "I was going to tell him that I loved him and I wanted to make it work, but he didn’t. So I left. I went back later to talk to him again, and I found him dead in Cory’s office. My husband was stabbed" Meggan wipes away a tear. "And they think I killed him! Please believe me Natasha, I didn’t kill Vinny!"

Natasha hugs her friend. "I believe you. But Robbie must have some evidence that he arrested you. We need to know what he has"

Scene 6
Setting: The Towers; Floor Three; Robin’s Apartment

Robin quickly sets the eggs, bacon and toast on the table. She rushes to the door, and finds Dominick and Leah.

"Dominick, Leah come in" Robin says. "I want to thank you for having breakfast with me" she smiles.

"We want to get to know you" Dominick says. "I want to know the daughter I never knew"

"This is all so overwhelming for me" Robin says. "Before yesterday I didn’t have a father, and I didn’t think I had a sister" Robin turns to Leah "Please forgive me Leah. For everything I put you and Robbie through"

Leah embraces Robin "I do forgive you. You are my sister. I want you to be apart of my life. Our life"

The newly formed family sit down for breakfast.

Scene 7
Setting: Twin Peaks General Hospital; Victoria’s Office

Shane arrives at his wife’s office. He enters and finds Victoria at her desk.

"What were you doing with Vinny at the wedding?"

"What? Shane leave me alone."

"I want to know Victoria. What were you and Vinny doing at the wedding?"

"None of your business."

"Vinny is dead Victoria. Did you know that?"

"I read it in the newspaper. Why?"

"Did you kill him?"

"What?! Oh my God Shane! You think I killed Vinny! We have nothing left. This is what it has come to! It’s over. Get out of my office! You can expect divorce papers very soon!"

Shane leaves. Outside the office, Shane wonders why Victoria got so up tight.

Scene 8
Setting: Twin Peaks Police Department

Natasha storms into Robbie’s office.

"Nat! Welcome home"

"Thanks. But I’m here on business."

"Alright" Robbie laughs.

"What do you have on Meggan?"

"Nat, come on. You know...."

"I know she is innocent. I know she is my client. I know that you must have some evidence for you to arrest her. Now, please tell me what you have Robbie."

Robbie looks at his sister. "Nothing concrete. The letter opener has her prints on it. Her letter opener is missing. A piece of blue fabric was found in the office, it matches Meggan’s shirt."

"That’s it?! No witnesses, nothing? Come on Robbie. You know this won’t hold in court. Judge Ulrich would throw this out"

"Natasha. We are still investigating"

"Investigate all you want, but release my client while you investigate"

Scene 9
Setting: The Towers; The Penthouse, Cory and Natasha’s home

Cory sits on the black leather sofa, going over Wild Night papers. He can’t concentrate as he continues to wonder how he can get people to go back to Wild Night after a murder took place there. His train of thought is cut off by the phone.

"Hello" Cory answered. "When did this come up? I thought the meeting wasn’t until March.....Yeah. I will be there as soon as I can." Cory hung up the phone.

Cory thought it was odd. The LA meeting wasn’t suppose to be until March. Now it was moved up until tomorrow. The meeting is about promoting Wild Night. "I have to go, despite how odd it is" Cory thinks.

Meanwhile in Adam’s apartment...

Adam gets a call. "Hi Marcy. Did you do it?....Great. That means Cory will be leaving any time. Thanks Marcy, I owe you"

Adam is pleased. His scheme worked.

Scene Ten
Setting: Twin Peaks Police Department

Shane arrives at the police department. He looks around, and sees Robbie sitting in his office. Shane walks over to the office and enters.

"Shane, hi. What brings you here?" Robbie asks, looking up from his reports.

"I need to know who I can see about the Vinny Victors murder"

"That would be me. What do you know Shane?"

"I don’t know anything for sure," Shane begins, sitting down. "But I do know that my wife has been acting very weird."

"Victoria? You think Victoria killed Victors? What makes you think something so rash?"

"It’s just a feeling. Victoria and Vinny were at the wedding together."

"What were they doing?"

"Talking. In the garden. Before the wedding started. I found them together. They covered with what they were talking about."

"Interesting. What else?"

"I do remember Victoria telling Vinny she wanted to talk to him at the reception, before she talked to his wife, a cop. It was all very odd to me Robbie. And now that Vinny has died, she has been acting very weird. I don’t know what to make of it, but I had to tell you"

"I’m glad you did Shane. Thanks for you help."

"No problem. This will remain confidential, I assume?"

"Of coarse. If you remember anything else, anything at all, please contact me again"

"I will. Thanks Robbie"

Scene Eleven
Setting: Twin Peaks Police Department; The Holding Cell

Natasha returns to the holding cell. Meggan spots her walking down the hall, and gets up from the bed.

"Pack your things Meg, you’re getting out" Natasha smiles.

"You got me out? Thank you so much Natasha!" Meggan smiles, as the guard man unlocks the cell.

"I talked to Robbie. He agreed that he has nothing concrete to keep you here. But you are still a prime suspect. And you have to explain some things to me"

"Like what?"

"Not here. We can talk at my office"

Scene Twelve
Setting: The Towers; Floor Three; Robin’s Apartment

Robin, Leah and Dominick finish their meals.

"Thank you for breakfast Robin, it was wonderful" Dominick smiles at his daughter.

"Thank you Dominick."

Leah and Dominick sit down on the sofa in the living room. Robin soon follows. "I’ve made a decision. I’m leaving town"

"What? I just found my sister, and you’re leaving?" Leah questions.

"It’s nothing permanent. I am just going to see my mother. It will give me a few days to get away from everything here. So much has happened with Robbie, and now my new family. I just need time to adjust."

"I think it’s a marvelous idea. You are changing your life around, Robin. I am very proud of you" Dominick smiles. He gets up and hugs his daughter.

"Thank you Dominick"

"When do you leave? Would like help packing?" Leah asks.

"No, I’ll be alright. I leave later today"

"That makes two of us" Dominick replies.

"You’re leaving?’ Robin asks

"Yes. I have to. Business. But I will be back. And we can talk on the phone all the time. You’re not getting out of my life that easily"

Robin hugs Dominick again. She also hugs Leah.

"I better start packing" she says, getting a tear in her eye.

"We can take a hint" Leah laughs.

Robin walks her sister and father to the door. With another hug to each, they depart.

Scene Thirteen
Setting: Twin Peaks General Hospital; Victoria’s Office

Victoria returns to her office, fresh from seeing a patient. She moves towards her desk, but is startled by a shadow. Shane emerges from the darkness.

"Shane! What the hell are you doing in here? Who let you in?" she demands to know.

"I’m your husband, remember? I can get in here if I want"

"Well perhaps that should change"

"What?"

"You being my husband. I want a divorce Shane. I don’t want to be married to you. Now get out of my office, or I’ll have you thrown out"

Scene Fourteen
Setting: The Law Firm; Natasha’s Office

Natasha and Meggan arrive at Natasha’s office. The ladies are silent until Natasha shuts the door. Meggan takes a seat in a chair in front of Natasha’s desk.

"Meggan, where is your letter opener?" Natasha asks, cutting to the chase.

"I don’t know. It isn’t in my desk?"

"Apparently not. The opener has your finger prints on it. Which makes sense. It’s yours. It should have your prints. The murderer must have used gloves. What about the shirt ripped? Robbie found fabric that matched your shirt"

"I don’t know. He never did tests on my shirt. The shirt was old. I ripped it years ago. Anyone in town could have a shirt like it."

"Well, for now we can sit tight. Until the investigation is done. But you need to be careful. Don’t talk to too many people."

"OK. Thanks Natasha"

"Anytime"

"Where are you going now?" Natasha asks.

"Home. I’m tired"

Scene Fifteen
Setting: The Towers; Floor One; Kim’s Apartment

A worried Kim wonders around her apartment. She tries to remain calm, but the thought of Jackson being loose scares her. How could it not? Everything the man has put her through. Kim freezes when she hears a noise outside the door. She quickly grabs a vase. She walks slowly over to the door, and opens it. She is relived to see nothing. She turns and suddenly Jackson grabs her from behind! Jackson takes her inside and shuts the door. He drops her on the sofa. Kim turns and sees Jackson.
