The Sugarbowl Helen
sits at the window bar with a hot chocolate in front of her. She is lost in her
own thoughts as she watches a light snow fall come down in the window in front
of her. As she takes a sip of her hot chocolate, she can't help but recall of
how she told Dawn about her New Year's Eve, where Adam professed his love for
her. A part of her almost can't believe that Adam told her that he still loves
her; after everything that they have been through, she never thought that they
would get to this point again. On one hand, she is thrilled that he told her that
he loves her, but on the other hand, she is scared because something, or someone,
always seems to get in the way of their happiness. "Looks like we
had a similar thought about getting something warm to drink," a voice calls
out from behind her. Helen turns and sees Adam standing behind her with a tea
in his hand. "Can I sit with you?" "Of course," Helen
smiles back to him to him. "And you're right, it is cold out there. I am
hoping that the cold spell snaps soon." "Before you know it,
spring will be here," Adam chuckles back to her. "We just have to wait
a few more weeks." "I suppose that is true." "I
haven't been able to stop thinking about being with you on New Year's," he
reveals to her as they lock eyes. "So, I have a question for you."
Helen arches her eyebrow back to him. "Uh, okay? Should I be worried?"
"Not at all," he laughs. "I was just hoping that you'd agree
to have dinner with me. You the two of us? Are you free tonight?" "Tonight?"
Helen giggles back to him. "I
I guess I am," she nods to him. "I'll
be at your place for 7?" "That's perfect," he winks back
to her, hoping that she likes the surprise that he has planned for her. Roboto
Max
sits behind the desk in the main office of Roboto typing into his laptop as he
is working on the upcoming collaboration between Roboto and Rockwell Mining. He
is rather excited as Rockwell Mining is going to find some rare pink diamonds
and carve them into rose shapes, which will be used in an upcoming Roboto campaign.
He thinks that the ideas that Natasha and MacKenzie Rockwell have come up with
have been incredible. As he works on the budget spreadsheet on the screen
in front of him, the door to the office opens and Dawn emerges. She gets a grin
on her face at the sight of her brother hard at work, but clearly enjoying what
he is doing. "You look busy, is this a bad time?" she asks him
she moves up to the desk and she sets her purse down. Max looks up at
his sister. "Dawn, hey," he replies to her. "I am swamped, but
I can always make some time for you. What's up?" Dawn chuckles back
to him. "When was the last time you spoke to Dad?" Max arches
his eyebrow back to her. "Not for a couple of days, why? Has something happened?"
"He and my Mom spent New Year's together," Dawn replies to him quickly.
"And, apparently, he told her that he loves her." "Whoa,"
Max says as he stands up from the desk. "I guess I knew that he always cared
for her, but I wasn't expecting him to be so forward with Helen. How are you feeling
about that?" "Excited," Dawn smiles back to him. "I
think this could be the time that my parents finally get back together, Max. I
think that I might get my family back, for good this time." Tyler's
Townhouse
"I
I still can't believe that I am here and Mom
isn't," Leah sighs to her family as they sit in the living room of Tyler's
townhouse. Leah is still having a difficult time accepting that Felicia was killed
in a fire at Raven's Meadow over New Year's. The fact that she, along with Jeff
and Paige, are at Tyler's now, where Felicia lived, is a hard pill to swallow.
"I know," Tyler tells her as he passes her a glass of wine. "When
you said you wanted to get together while you waited for the DNA test results,
I didn't think you'd want to be here. The memories of Mom, they fill this place."
"I think it's good that we are here," Paige tells everyone. "We
have to handle our memories and grief head on. It's what grandma would have wanted."
"I agree with Paige," Jeff replies to the group. "I know that
we have a lot going on with waiting to see if Bryce and Ethan are our boys, but
have you given any thought to a memorial service for Felicia? That, also, might
help with the grief process." "I've been making some arrangements,"
Tyler admits to him. "Because you two are also dealing with this DNA tests.
Have there been any updates on that front?" "Not yet,"
Leah tells him. "We are still waiting to see if Bryce is really Noah and
if Ethan is the son I gave birth too in Santa Barbara." "This
all just seems
surreal," Paige shakes her head back to them. "If
I'm feeling overwhelmed, then I can't imagine how you're feeling." "I
just need to know the truth," Leah looks back at her daughter. "Once
we know the truth, we can all start to move forward with our lives, whatever that
may look like." The Pink Flamingo at the River Rock Casino
"Have you heard anything back about the DNA tests?" Victoria asks
Bryce as they sit across from one another at a table in the restaurant. On the
table, they are sharing some crab cakes and a bottle of chardonnay as they catch
up with one another. Victoria knows that he has been on pins and needles, eagerly
waiting to see if he is really Noah, the son that Leah and Jeff thought that died
all those years ago. She, like everyone else, can't believe that Bryce might be
the little boy that everyone thought died all those years ago. "Nothing
yet," Bryce replies to her as he takes a bite of the crab cake. "Leah
and Jeff, they were a mess when we got the tests done though. They aren't taking
this very well." Victoria arches her eyebrow back to him. "That's
understandable, I mean, they thought you were dead for years. To find out that
you're alive and you're their son, that's a lot to take in. Do you have any idea
why Frederick would have wanted to do this?" "My guess is because
he wanted me as his pawn," Bryce admits to her. "Think about it; he
got me the job at Raven's Meadow and he and Vinny made me do the most horrific
things to carry out their sick plans." "You don't have to remind
me of that," Victoria cuffs, thinking about how Bryce lied to her about splitting
again, when in fact Vinny was drugging her to make her believe she was crazy again.
"Sorry," Bryce quickly replies to her. "Here we were having
a semi decent conversation and I have to go and remind you of how I betrayed you."
"I am trying, I hope you know that," Victoria tells him. "And
I am trying because I do still love you, Bryce." "I know, I
appreciate it," Bryce smiles back to her. "I am trying my best to regain
your trust Vic. So much so that I did something yesterday that you should know
about." Victoria arches her eyebrow back to him. "What did you
do?" "I applied for a job at TPGH," he reveals to her.
"I had an interview with Shane Glubbs, we will see how that goes."
"I think that's a great first step," Victoria tells him. "You
having a normal job, and not at that hell hole will do wonders." "I
hope so, I really do." "You know what I think?" Victoria
asks him quickly. "No matter what happens with you, Leah and Jeff or you
and I, everything will finally be okay. Vinny and Frederick are dead, and we can
all try to move on with our lives now." Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Donovan
paces back and forth in the small office that is in the police station in Puerto
Vallarta. A few minutes earlier, the police detective that he was talking too,
Sergio Lopez, told him that he thought he recognized Jasper's picture. Before
Donovan could get more details, Sergio was called out to take a telephone call.
Now, Donovan is wondering how the police detective knows Jasper. "Sorry
about that, I had to take that call," Sergio announces as he opens the door
to the office and moves back inside. "It's fine," Donovan replies
to him. "You, uh, you just said that you thought you recognized Jasper, is
that still the case? Do you think you know the man that kidnapped my son?"
Sergio nods back to Donovan. "Yes, you see, I am like you," he replies
to Donovan. "I am also gay, and as a result, I believe that I saw Jasper
out at a local gay club recently." "Really? Which one? Maybe
we could go there?" Donovan asks, trying not to get too excited. "It
is called the Palm," Sergio explains to him. "It is a venue where drag
performers put on shows. It was pretty dark in there, but I think that is where
I saw Jasper." Donovan looks back at him with intent. "I
I
want to go there. I want to see if I can find the son of a bitch that kidnapped
my son!" The Cascade Apartments; Cassie & Max's Home
Cassie peers into the small bed where Carter is napping and moves some of
the blonde hair out of his face. She smiles at the sight of him resting; she loves
her son very much and is so grateful that he is in her life. She watches him sleep
for a moment longer before she stands up and walks out of the room, closing the
door behind herself. "Don't worry Carter," she whispers to herself
as she purses her lips together. "I won't stop until your Daddy is back with
us; we deserve to be a family and after everything that bitch, Natasha, did to
keep us apart, I will get Jacob back. You can mark my words on that."
She moves into the living room as she wonders where Jacob's head is right
now. She knows that he told her that he needed time and space to figure out what
his future looked like, but she had hoped that he would have come around by now.
The last thing that she wants is for Jacob to tell her that he wants a future
with Isabelle. "That won't happen," she tells herself. "I
won't lose Jacob to that little girl. I can't
not after everything we've
been through." Before she can say anything else, she hears her cell
phone ping with a new message. She walks over to the coffee table and picks it
up. She gets a sly grin on her face when she sees a new message from Jacob appear
on the screen. "Cassie, we need to talk. Can we get together?"
she reads the message from the father of her son. "Finally, he's decided
that we should be together! He's coming back to me, I know he is!" Penny's
Farmhouse, Holdenville, Oklahoma
"I am famished," Cory announces
as he opens the door to the farmhouse and moves inside, where he sees Penny standing
over the stove in the kitchen. "And, it smells delicious in here!"
Penny chuckles back to the man that she saved from the plane crash a few months
earlier. "Well, you're in luck because I am just making a nice split pea
and ham soup," she replies to him. "And I have fresh buns to go with
it." "That sounds incredible," Cory chuckles to her as
he pours a tall glass of water that is on the table. "I really worked up
an appetite this morning, feeding all the animals takes a lot of out someone."
"I was just telling Gordy earlier that I really appreciate all your help
around here," Penny notes back to him. "You're a life saver."
"That's you; you saved me from the plane crash, remember?" "How
could I forget?" she asks him as she sets a bowl of soup down in front of
him. "Don't burn your tongue, it might be hot." "While
it cools, it will give us a moment to chat about something," he tells her
as she sits next to him. "I was coming in earlier, and I happened to overhear
you and Gordy talking. He was asking you to set a wedding date and you seemed,
I don't know, nervous to do that. Is there a reason why you don't want to set
a wedding date?" Penny gulps back to him. "I didn't realize
that you heard our conversation." "I didn't want to interrupt,"
Cory tells her as he takes a spoon of the soup to his lips. "It just seemed
like you were apprehensive to move forward." "I guess, well,
I guess I am," Penny nods back to him. "You coming into my life has
made me realize somethings about Gordy that I'm not sure are qualities I want
in a husband." "I am not looking to cause any problems here."
"You're not causing any problems," Penny tells him. "If anything,
you might be saving my life the same way that I saved yours. You just might be
the angel that I was praying for." The Tower's; The Penthouse;
Robin's Home The image of seeing Antonio kiss Robin's hand haunts
Sophie as she slowly moves up to the front door of the penthouse. She was there
earlier when she saw the two in an embrace; the sight sent shockwaves through
Sophie as she thought that Robin was, like her, still grieving the loss of Cory.
"Sophie, this is a surprise, please come in," Robin says as she
opens the door and sees the younger girl at the doorstep. "Thanks,
I hope this is a good time," Sophie replies as she moves into the penthouse.
"I
I guess I just needed to see you." "You can come
here anytime, you know that," Robin tells her as she closes the door and
follows Sophie into the living room. "We are going through a loss together."
"I thought that too." "You thought that? What does
that mean?" Sophie moves a piece of her hair behind her ear. "Are
you moving on, Robin? Are you starting to forget that my Dad was in your life?"
"Where is this coming from?" Robin asks her as she sits down on
the sofa and sits next to her. "Because I can never forget that Cory was
alive and in my life. No matter how much time passes, I will never forget him."
"So, you're not starting to move on?" Sophie asks her as she gets
tears in her eyes. "I mean," Robin grabs her hand. "I am
trying to still live my life because that's what Cory would have wanted; same
with you, Sophie. Your Dad would want you to still have a life to live and not
get lost in the grief forever." Sophie lets a tear fall down her
cheek. "Look, Sophie, your Dad loves you, I know that this is difficult,
but it will get better, you just have to trust that." "I
I
wish I could," Sophie replies to her. "I just feel like I'm in this
dark space and there's no light at the end of the tunnel." Robin
pulls Sophie into a hug and holds her as she starts to sob. "I know you feel
that way now, but it will get better, believe me. And we are in this together,
Sophie. You don't have to grief the loss of Cory alone. I'm here, I'm right here."
