The River Rock Casino
The
masquerade engagement party for Antonio and Robin is still in full swing in the
casino as all the guests continue to mingle while wearing the costumes, enjoy
champagne and the snacks provided. Soft jazz music is playing, but there is so
much chatter in the room that not many can hear the songs. Meggan, who
is wearing a navy-blue dress with a matching mask, looks around the casino, and
when she doesn't see anyone that she knows, she puts her mask back on and makes
her way to the bar. The bartender grins at her and asks her what she would
like to drink. Meggan takes a deep breath before she looks back at him. "I'll
have a double whiskey sour please." "Coming right up,"
he tells her as he starts making his drink. "I'm going to need a
little encouragement to get through this party," she whispers to herself.
"And because I'm in this mask, no one will know I'm drinking," she chuckles.
"This is perfect." ***
Madeline takes a long sip
of her champagne before she gets a slight grin on her face. She recalls how she
saw Robbie and Kim coming into the party earlier in the evening, and then saw
Tyler, and that's when she got an idea on how she could continue to try to break
up Robbie and Kim. She, then, went to one of the waiters and requested that he
send Tyler and Kim a message. "I should get going," she whispers
to herself. "Or I won't be able to carry out the next part of my plan."
Meanwhile, Tyler opens the door to one of the back boardrooms that are in
the rear of the casino. These rooms are often used by businesses that need space
for large groups. He looks around and arches his eyebrow when he sees a woman
standing in the room in a long silver-dress. "Uh, hi?" he calls
out as the woman turns around to face him. "Hi?" she responds
as she lifts her mask to reveal Kim's face. "Did you summon me here?"
Tyler takes off his mask to reveal himself to Kim. "I was about to ask
you the same thing," he tells her. "One of the waiters told me that
I was needed back here." "That's interesting," she looks
at him. "Because I got the same message." "What is going
on?" Tyler asks her. "I mean, there's no one else here." "I
wish I knew, but since we can see that this is a mistake, we can head back to
the party? I don't want Robbie to start to worry about me." Meanwhile,
outside the boardroom, Madeline locks the door and gets a grin on her face. "Now,
you two will be stuck together, and maybe, just maybe, some old feelings will
start to emerge. I still think that Tyler could be the key to coming between Robbie
and Kim again." When Tyler gets to the door, he tries to open it,
but because it's locked, he's not able too. He tries harder, but it still remains
locked. "Hey, can anyone hear me? We are
we are trapped in here!"
he says as he pounds his fist on the door. "You can't open the door?"
Kim asks him in confusion. "No, and with the noise of the party,
I don't think anyone can here us," Tyler sighs back to her. "I
I
think we are stuck." *** Leah snags another glass
of champagne from one of the circling waiters and takes a sip of it before she
looks over and sees Victoria and Bryce dancing together. She, immediately, rolls
her eyes at the sight as she knows that Victoria has put herself in the middle
of her family; she has married Bryce, and because of Paige, she has a job at Robertson
Enterprises. She realizes that she has to figure a way to remove Victoria from
their lives; all of their lives. She sees Bryce leave Victoria's side
and move towards the bar to get them two more drinks. Leah finds herself moving
towards her daughter in law. "Nice mask," Leah announces to
Victoria, who turns to face her mother-in-law. "A compliment, from
you?" Victoria asks with a sly grin on her face. "Has hell frozen over?"
"You think you're so smug," Leah replies to her quickly. "But
consider this a warning, Victoria." "A warning," Victoria
glares back at her. "Are you threatening me?" "No,"
Leah shakes her head back at her. "I'm telling you, I will get you out of
my family's company, and my son's life. I will not stop until that I accomplish
that. So, it's not a threat, it's a promise." "I wish you luck,"
Victoria chuckles back to her. "Because Bryce and I, we are deeply in love,
and I'm planning on making really great changes at Robertson Enterprises. Buckle
up, Leah, you might be in for a bumpy ride." ***
"Yes,
I'll be right there, thanks for calling me," Lukas says into his phone as
he stands by the bar, which is a quieter spot during the party. He had been sipping
champagne and keeping a close eye on Donovan and Sergio when his phone rang; he
was thinking about how he could get Donovan back in his life, because he believes
that they belong together since they worked so well together to get Olly back
from Jasper when he was kidnapped. Now, after this phone call, he has to find
Donovan. He turns around and sees his estranged husband laughing at something
that Sergio just told him. He sighs and puts his phone in his pocket before he
walks over to them, clearing his throat, causing Donovan to look back at him.
"Lukas, is that you?" Donovan asks him as he lifts his mask to reveal
his face. "Yea, it's me," Lukas nods back to him. "Sorry
to interrupt." "Is everything okay?" Donovan asks him quickly.
"You look white as a ghost." "I
uh
I just got
a call from the housekeeper," Lukas replies to him, as Sergio arches his
eyebrow. "Olly has come down with a fever. She's going to take him to the
hospital
the question is, are you going to leave Sergio and the party and
come with me? Or am I going to go alone?" *** "You
really don't look like you're having a good time," Daisy announces as she
moves up to Trenyce, who is sipping on some champagne. Daisy can tell that Trenyce
is looking tense and uncomfortable, but considering her personal life is a mess
right now, Daisy can understand why, especially since Antonio played a key part
of her life unravelling. "I'm not," Trenyce replies to her quickly.
"I saw Andrew earlier, and I saw that Chris was here, and I'm just feeling
awkward. Not to mention, the last thing that I want to do is celebrate Antonio
in anyway." Daisy uneasily chuckles back to her niece. "You
and me both," she admits to her. "I was talking to Chris earlier, and
he said he wanted to make Antonio pay, and I can't say that I blame him."
"Andrew made a good point though, he would haven't known about Albertinah
had Antonio not planted the seed in his head," Trenyce sighs to her. "So,
in some ways, he's happy, but he, too, hates all of the interference between Antonio
and our family." "Andrew has his own reasons to hate that man,"
Daisy reveals to her, knowing that Antonio played a key role in Andrew's gambling
addiction. "The bottom line is, Antonio needs to suffer for what he's done."
"Then the question becomes, Daisy, how do we make that son of a bitch
pay?" Trenyce asks her quickly as she takes a sip of her champagne. ***
Antonio
rushes up to the bar and orders two more champagne cocktails from the bartender.
He is thrilled that the party, so far, is going well. He wanted to surprise Robin
with a gala, and he has done that. He couldn't be happier that he was able to
achieve this for her. After he collects the drinks, he turns around to
leave, but he sees a man approaching him. He has no idea who it is because of
the face mask, but he can tell that they seemingly want to discuss something with
him. "Antonio, you have a lot of explaining to do," the man
says, slowly revealing his mask to reveal Chris' face. "How the hell could
you play with my life this way?" "Chris," Antonio replies
to him quickly. "I am assuming you've heard that I suggested to Andrew that
he might have got Trenyce pregnant all those months ago." "You're
damn straight that's what I'm talking about!" "I didn't mean
to cause any trouble," Antonio replies to him. "But based on the timing,
and the fact that Andrew was able to donate the bone marrow, I thought it might
be worth looking into. Put yourself in his shoes, wouldn't you want to know if
you were a father?" "You're a cocky asshole," Chris tells
him quickly. "I'm going to tell you this once, and only once, watch your
back, Antonio. Because somehow, someway, I will make you pay for what you've done."
***
The side door opens allowing Penny and Cory to move into
the party. They had been getting ready in the basement and now that they are ready,
Cory is ready to try to find Robin to tell her that he's back and alive and well.
"Wow, there are so many people here," Penny whispers to Cory. "Do
you know all of these people?" "Most of them," Cory chuckles
back to her. "Don't worry, you will know them soon too. But first, I have
to find Robin." "Robin? The woman that is engaged?"
"That's the one," Cory replies to her. "She and I, we have
a long history together; we were together when my plane crashed. I have to tell
her, first, that I'm back and that Antonio was the reason I've been gone for so
long." "Cory," Penny turns him to face her. "Please,
be careful, okay? Don't do anything that will hurt you." "I
won't," he winks back to her. "There's Robin," he tells her quickly.
"Wish me luck, I'm going to reveal to her that I'm alive." "Good
luck," Penny replies to him, wondering if this is about to change her future
with Cory. She had always thought what it would be like if he came home, and now,
she is about to find out. Next on One Day at a Time - Bryce
lies to Victoria - again - Donovan makes a decision about Sergio and Olly -
