The Sugarbowl

Leah sits in the back booth of the coffeehouse with a large black coffee in front of her. She barely slept the previous night because she had given Tyler her resignation from Robertson Enterprises. She hates that it has come to the point where she can't work at her family company because the missing funds from an offshore account were authorized by her; she knows that she would never take money from her family company, but until the investigation proves that, she thought it was best for her to leave the company on her own will.

"You look a million miles away," a says, causing Leah to snap back into reality. She looks up and sees Jeff standing in front of her. "You left before I was even awake this morning."

He sits across from her as Leah takes a sip of her coffee. "I couldn't sleep, so I got up and came here for a coffee," she admits to him. "I hope I didn't keep you up?"

"Nah, I was having issues sleeping myself," he reveals to her. "I ran into Meggan and Logan last night; neither conversation went well."

"I'm sorry," Leah replies to him. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"I'm good, besides, I'm concerned about you," Jeff tells her as he grabs her hand. "What's going on? Like I said, you looked like you were deep in thought when I got here."

"I was," Leah sighs to him. "I…I quit Robertson Enterprises yesterday. I thought it would make the most sense until this investigation is over."

Jeff shakes his head in disbelief. "I know how much working there means to you, that couldn't have been easy."

"It wasn't," Leah tells him. "But it was the right thing to do. I…I just hope this investigation proves that I am innocent, and that Victoria is the one behind this."

"You still think that Victoria set you up?"

"I can't think of anything else that make sense," Leah says. "She wanted me to ignore the fact that she was bad news for Noah, and this is what she came up with. I have no idea how to prove it, but I can feel that this is true in my bones, Jeff. That woman hates me and will do anything she can to destroy me."

Robertson Enterprises

Victoria sits behind her desk at Robertson Enterprises with a grin on her face. She's read the company memo about Leah resigning from Robertson Enterprises. Deep down, Victoria knows that her plan to get rid of Leah has worked perfectly. She closes her eyes as she thinks back to the day that she went to the main office, and she saw Leah's laptop. She was able to guess her password, which was Paige's birthday, and she initiated the transfer of funds from the offshore account; she did this because, at the time, Leah was hounding Bryce to leave Victoria, and Victoria wanted something else to keep Leah occupied. Now, she isn't sure that she needed to go to such lengths because she has no idea where she and Bryce stand because she is horrified by his role in the baby switch, but at least now, she is further up the ranks at the company.

"I'm glad you're here," Tyler says as he moves into her office. "What are you doing right now?"

"Uh," Victoria looks at him as she realizes she was daydreaming. "I was just reading the memo about Leah; I am sorry that it has come to this."

"Yea, me too," Tyler replies to her. "But I have faith that my investigation will prove that Leah is innocent, and uncover the true culprit."

Victoria gulps back to him. "What is that you wanted to discuss?"

"With Leah leaving the organization, we have some huge holes in some of our upcoming plans," Tyler reveals to her. "That's where you come in, Victoria. It's time that you truly earn your post here at the company."

"What does that mean, exactly?"

"It means, you're going to have to come up with our new plan to get this company to the top again," Tyler informs her. "Whatever your plan is, it better be damn good, because Robertson has been on the sidelines for far too long."

The Pink Flamingo at the River Rock Casino

"I barely slept last night," Abby groans as she pokes at her eggs on her breakfast plate while Ethan takes a sip of his coffee. They are meeting for breakfast to rehash what happened the night before; Abby had overheard Lukas, Victoria, and Sergio discussing the fact that they believed Donovan kidnapped Sonny. Abby told Ethan and Andrew and they convinced her to go to Simona. When Simona and co arrived at the mansion, Donovan was there and admitted he was at Caldwell's Mountain Resort at a children's festival. "How did they get Donovan and Sonny back?"

"I know you might not want to hear this," Ethan looks back at her with intent. "But maybe Donovan was at the children's festival."

"No," Abby shakes her head to him. "They were talking about not knowing where he was. It doesn't make sense for him to arrive and replay the lie that Lukas and Victoria originally told me."

Ethan sighs back to her. "Can you please do me a favor?" he asks her as they lock eyes with one another. "Please finish your breakfast? You're eating for two, remember?"

"I know, I know," Abby reaches over and touches his arm. "And thank you for caring; I know this baby means a lot to you, Ethan. And they mean a lot to me too. But Sonny, he is also my son."

"What do you want to do about it?" Ethan asks her quickly.

"I don't know," she admits to him. "I…I was going to ask you … what can I do? I mean, legally speaking? Do I have any legs to stand on to get my son back?"

The Richardson Estate; Meggan, Lukas, Donovan, Logan, & Olly's Home

"I am so relieved that Victoria convinced you to come home last night," Lukas tells Donovan as he pours himself a cup of coffee from the bar in the living room of the Richardson estate before he turns and sees his husband, who is giving Olly one of his favorite fire truck toys.

Donovan looks back at Lukas and recalls how he, Victoria, and Sergio tracked him down at the Calimo cabin the previous night, just before Donovan was able to head to the airport to leave town with their son. The last thing Donovan wants to do is to have to give up the son that they have raised since he was born to Abby now that he was revealed to her biological child. He had no idea that everyone was looking for him, but once Victoria told him that by running he would make things worse, Donovan agreed to return home, which worked out perfectly because Abby had shown up with the police.

"Me too," Donovan admits back to him. "I realize that if I had ran with Olly, we would be on the run for the rest of our lives; that's no way for him to grow up."

"I still can't believe that Abby showed up with Simona Lopez," Lukas sighs back to him. "It just goes to show that we can't trust her, not one little bit."

"What are we going to do, Lukas?" Donovan asks him in a serious tone. "I…I can't lose Olly; I won't lose him! We almost lost him once already when Jasper kidnapped him, I…I don't think I could go through that again."

Lukas moves up to Donovan and pulls him into a tight hug. Donovan feels Lukas' muscular arms around him and is comforted by the touch. "I don't know what will happen, Donovan," Lukas whispers into his ear. "But we will fight together, with everything we have to keep our son. We won't lose him to Abby, I promise you that."

The Tower's, Floor Three, Madeline's Condo

Madeline opens the front door to her condo and sees Clayton and Tyler standing on the other side. She smiles at the sight as she knows that she invited them both over this morning because she has to tell them some news and it can't wait.

"Hey guys, thanks for coming," she says as she hugs them both as they enter the condo.

"I was already at work when I got your text," Tyler admits to her as he moves into the living room of the condo. "I'll have to head back after our meeting."

"I have to admit that you have my curiosity peaked," Clayton says next to his sister, who moves into the living room.

"Yea, I know," Madeline nods back to them. "The fact is, I…I have to leave town, and I don't know when I will be back."

Tyler and Clayton look at her in surprise. "What brought this on?" Clayton asks her quickly, as Tyler starts to wonder about his plan with Madeline to break up Robbie and Kim and how that will unfold if she is no longer in town.

"A few things," she admits to them. "Look, I will be back one day, but for now, I just need some time, that's all."

"Well, I just got back to town so I hope this isn't forever," Clayton sighs back to her. "But I know what it's like to need some time for you, especially with everything Robbie has put you through."

Madeline nods back to him. "Thanks Clayton, and we can keep in touch for sure."

"I hope we can too?" Tyler asks her as he moves up to her and hugs her. "What about our plan?" he whispers into her ear.

"This is part of it," she whispers back to him. "Robbie is going to devastate Kim, and I…I just need some space until everything cools down."

"Okay, well I support you, and together, we will still achieve everything we want."

The Calimo Mansion

Robbie stares into the rose garden at the French doors in the living room of the Calimo mansion. The garden is still covered in snow, so there's not much to look at this time of the year, but his mind is racing on the fact that the previous day, Madeline told him that if he didn't tell Kim about their New Year's Eve fling, she would. He hates that he got so drunk on New Year's Eve that he slept with her again, and that he lied to Kim about it the next day.

"But if Madeline tells Kim the truth, she will be more devastated then if I tell her the truth," Robbie whispers to himself. "She's going to be devastated, and I don't know how I am going to tell her."

"Oh, good morning," Kim says as she moves into the living room and sees her husband looking out the windows.

"Morning sweetheart," he turns to face her. "You look beautiful today."

"Ah, thanks," Kim chuckles to him. "Are Shane and Natasha home?"

"I don't think so," Robbie replies to her. "We have the place to ourselves."

"Good," Kim looks back at him with intent. "It will give us the chance to talk."

Robbie gulps back to her. "Is there something in particular that you want to talk about? Because, there is something that I need to tell you."

"There is something, yes," Kim replies to him. "And what I have to say, it can't wait. So please, let me go first and then you can tell me whatever you need too."

Twin Peaks General Hospital

"Now, you have to understand," Stephanie firmly looks back at Simona as they stand outside of Penny's hospital room. "Penny has been through a very traumatic ordeal, and she has only just come out of her coma, so her memory might not be the best. And, she is experiencing some side effects from her injury, including blindness."

"My goodness, that is awful," Simona shakes her head back to the doctor. "I promise to keep my line of questioning quick and to the point. You can stay with us and let me know if she isn't well enough to answer the questions."

"I'd like that," Stephanie replies to her. "Because I won't let anyone, including the police, interfere in my patient's recovery."

With that, Stephanie opens the door to Penny's hospital room and moves inside with Simona following her. Cory stands up from his seat next to Penny and looks at the doctor and police detective.

"What's going on?" Cory asks as Penny's eyes dart around the room, trying to figure out what is happening.

"Detective Lopez just has a few questions for Penny, that's all," Stephanie replies to him before she looks at Penny. "Penny, do you think you're up to answering a couple of questions?"

"I...I will do my best," Penny replies to everyone. "How can I help?"

"Penny, my name is Detective Simona Lopez with the Twin Peaks Police Department," Simona begins by saying. "First of all, I am sorry to hear about your ordeal. I am wishing you a speedy recovery."

"Thanks."

"It is my understand that your former fiance, Gordy Roberts, was holding you hostage at the Calimo cabin before he died and that is when you got injured, is that correct?"

"Yes, that's right," Penny tells her quickly. "Gordy, he had lost his mind. He was…well, furious with me because of my involvement with Cory."

"I see," Simona nods back to her. "And he was killed while Cory was saving you from him."

"Right," Penny replies to her. "But you…you don't know the half of it," she says as tears fill her eyes. "Gordy had done some horrible things."

"What horrible things are you talking about?" Simona asks her.

"The night of the mascaraed party," Penny whispers as a tear falls down her cheek. "Cory and Antonio were wearing the same costume; Gordy…Gordy shot Antonio thinking that he was Cory," she reveals as everyone gasps in the room. "That's why he was holding me hostage; I was going to tell everyone what happened…"

"My God," Cory grabs her hand and squeezes it. "I'm so sorry Penny."

"No, it's my fault," Penny cries to everyone. "If it wasn't for me, none of this would have happened."

"Okay, that's enough," Stephanie announces. "Penny needs to get some rest, this is upsetting her. Everyone out."

"I'll be right out," Cory whispers to her before he kisses her forehead.

Outside the room, Cory and Stephanie look at Simona with intent. "You know what this means, don't you?" Cory asks the detective.

"I do," Simona looks back at him. "Daisy is in prison for a murder she didn't commit."
