Twin Peaks General Hospital
Shane sits behind his desk in the COS' office at the hospital looking over
some emails in inbox. His eyes, however, happen to glance at the picture of him,
Natasha, and Jacob sitting on his desk. He picks up the picture frame and smiles
at the sight as earlier in the day he and Natasha admitted that they were still
in love with one another. After everything that they went through last year with
Shane's past, he never thought that he and Natasha would be in this position again;
but after Sophie spoke to him right before Christmas, he realized that he did
still love Natasha. He sets the frame back down and looks back at his email, immediately
arching his eyebrow at one of the emails. He opens the email and gasps
out loud. "What the hell is this?" He reaches for his phone
and picks him the phone. "Yes, get Will Coutts into my office now,"
he demands from the head nurse. "I don't care what he's doing, this is urgent!"
He slams the phone down and runs his hands over his face as he still has a
hard time comprehending the email that is on his screen. He realizes that this
could really hurt the reputation of Twin Peaks General Hospital. Within a few
minutes, the door to his office opens and Will appears. "Hey, I heard
you wanted to see me?" Will asks him quickly moving into the office. "This
better be important, I was just about to take a blood sample from a high-risk
pregnant woman." "This is very important," Shane stands
up from behind his desk. "I've been notified that you have filed a lawsuit
against Paige Claus?" Will gulps back to him. He knows that he has
filed a lawsuit against Paige in hopes of preventing her from being able to give
their unborn child up for adoption; in his mind, he wishes that Paige would have
consulted with him on the decision that was best for both of them, instead, she
made the decision without his knowledge, and he has grown to like the idea of
being a father to the child. "That's right, I have." "Care
to explain what this is all about?" Shane asks him firmly. "You realize
that this could have negative repercussions on the hospital, don't you?"
"Paige and I were dating," Will reveals to him. "And she got
pregnant. Around the same time, she ended our relationship and failed to tell
about the baby. Once I found out she was pregnant, she told me that she was going
to give the child up for adoption. I'm
I'm trying to be a father to my unborn
child, Shane. That's all. I want to have a say in what happens to my child."
"I don't like this, Will," Shane admits to him. "The fact is,
it is the woman's right to make a decision about her body. You're
you're
trying to take that away from her." "I'm trying to be a father!"
Will protests back to him. "I hear you, but if this lawsuit of your
has any repercussions against this hospital, you will have to answer for it, so
you've been warned," Shane glares back at him, hoping that this can be resolved
before it gets uglier. The Lawson Estate; Abby, Ethan, Cheresa, Dawn,
& Georgina's Home
Abby puts a sleeping Georgina back into her playpen
before she stands up straight and watches her daughter sleep for a moment. She
can't believe how big Georgina is getting; after missing the first few years of
Olly's life, she doesn't want to miss a single moment of Georgina's, even though
she feels like she already has because of the time she has spent with Max and
Olly. Still, she is desperate to make up for lost time with Olly, which is why
she has been spending so much time with him. "Ah, I was hoping you'd
be here so we could have lunch together," Ethan announces to Abby as he sets
his briefcase down on the sofa and moves towards her. He peers into the playpen
and sees his daughter fast asleep. "Looks like she had a great morning if
she's sleeping!" Abby chuckles back to him. "Can we whisper
please?" she asks him before she kisses him on the lips. "She's teething
I think so she was rather fussy this morning. I'm hoping the sleep puts her in
a better mood." "I noticed her cheeks were rather rosy last
night and was going to talk to you about it," Ethan agrees with her. "I
put a teething ring in the freezer thinking the cold might be soothing on her
gums." "That's where it went!" Abby says back to him. "I
was looking for it. I'm glad you came home for lunch to tell me that. How was
your morning?" "Interesting," Ethan admits to her as he
follows Abby to the dining room, where there is a lunch prepared for them. "Paige
stopped by to see me." "Paige?" Abby asks in surprise.
"What the hell did she want?" Ethan chuckles back to her as
he knows that there is no blood lost between the two women. "She's pregnant
with Will Coutts child." "I've heard, what does that have to
do with you?" Abby asks him as she takes a bite of her chicken spinach salad.
"Well, she's decided to give the child up for adoption," Ethan reveals
to her. "That didn't sit well with Will, and so, he's suing her in attempt
to stop her from giving the baby up for adoption." Abby's eyes open
wider in surprise. "Wow, good for him," Abby tells him. "She should
have talked to him about that before she made a decision. But that still doesn't
answer the question: what does this have to do with you?" she asks before
she realizes what it means. "Wait, no, don't tell me, she wants you to represent
her? Oh Ethan, please tell me that you didn't take on this case?" "I
did," Ethan looks back at her as Abby sighs heavily. "And Abby, I know
that you two don't get along, but Paige, she is my sister, and I think she has
the right to make this decision. I think Will is in wrong." "Do
I need to remind you of your history with that woman? Of my history with her?"
"No, of course not," Ethan calmly responds. "But this is my
career, and my family, so please, for me, understand that I had to take this case?"
he pleads with her as Abby shakes her head, unable to comprehend how Ethan could
help the woman that has tortured her for years. Twin Peaks Police Station
Cheresa
sits in one of the uncomfortable armchairs in the waiting room of the police station.
She has been waiting for close to twenty minutes to see if she is able to visit
Dawn, who is still in jail following her arrest after the truth came out that
she killed Tara and attacked Trenyce and Daisy. Of course, Cheresa found out from
Tara that she brainwashed Dawn, which would explain why Dawn acted in the way
that she did. Cheresa knows her girlfriend well enough to know that she would
have never had done any of those horrible events had she not been brainwashed.
"Sorry for the delay," a male office says as he approaches Cheresa.
"We are short staffed around here because Simona Lopez and her brother went
to Mexico for a vacation." "It's all good," Cheresa stands
up from the chair and looks back at him. "So, can I see Dawn Black? She was
in cell 405." "Yea, I see that," the officer responds to
her. "Simona must not have called you to let you know, but Dawn Black, she's
not here anymore." Cheresa feels the blood drain from her face learning
that Dawn isn't in jail anymore. "What
what do you mean she's not here?
Where is she? Where is Dawn?" "Given her health status, Simona
had her moved to a special ward at Twin Peaks General Hospital," he reveals
to Cheresa. "It looks like your girlfriend is in the mental ward."
The Sugarbowl Daisy looks over some papers that are in front
of her as she sits in the back booth of the coffeehouse. For a while now, she
has been contemplating her future and she thinks that she has finally figured
out what that is. For too long, she has been wrapped up in trying to make her
relationship with Andrew work, which resulted in her switching Tinah's paternity
test the previous year. That is not something she normally would do, and the result
was that her entire family was in turmoil. Andrew still hasn't forgiven her and
has moved out of their condo that they bought together. She hopes that this will
be the start of a new chapter for her. She looks up and sees Andrew moving
into the coffeehouse. After he orders his drink, he happens to make eye contact
with Daisy, and so, she gestures for him to join her after he gets his drink.
"What's all this?" Andrew asks her as he sits across from her. "It
looks like you want to take some courses or something?" "That's
exactly what it is," Daisy looks back at him. "I
I've been trying
to decide what I want my future to look like, and I think I have found it, Andrew."
"You want to become a lawyer?" Andrew asks her as he looks at the
forms on the table. "I do," she nods back to him. "With
my history in the city council, I already have a lot of the courses; I just have
to complete 5 courses and I could practice law." "Wow,"
Andrew looks back at her in surprise. "I
I wasn't expecting this at
all." Daisy chuckles back to him. "I wasn't either, but once
I realized how close I was to finishing the degree, I thought 'why not?'. The
truth is, after last year, I really realize that I have to get back to myself,
and this is a great way to do it. And the best part is, I can take these courses
online and work at my own pace." "That's really awesome to hear,
Daisy," Andrew says to her. "This will be a good change for you, I believe
that." "I hope so," Daisy looks back at him. "Does
this mean that, maybe, you and I could work on us again? You could move back into
the condo and we could repair our relationship?" Andrew sighs back
to her. "I'm sorry Daisy, but I am not ready for that yet. I'm
I'm still
working through the fact that you tried to keep my daughter from me. That will
take time." "I understand," Daisy feels her heartbreak
in her chest. "Just know that I still care and am waiting for you, Andrew."
The Pink Flamingo at the River Rock Casino Sophie gulps heavily
as Max sits across from her at her table in the restaurant. Just a few moments
ago, Max arrived at her table and suggested that they talk, which Sophie agreed
too. Sophie, however, knows that the conversation will not go well because she
is still reeling from the fact that Max and Natasha slept together; she has no
idea if the affair is still going on, but in her mind, she doesn't care. "I
suppose you're right, we do have a few things to talk about," Sophie finally
breaks the silence between them as Max looks back at her. "Do you want to
start?" "Uh, sure," Max uneasily nods back to her. "The
truth is, Soph, I've been really upset since I learned that you lost a baby because
we both know that I wasn't the father." "I know," Sophie
tells him quickly. "I can explain that, Max. Logan, he was the father of
my child. He and I, we were day drinking one day, and the sex, it just happened.
I never meant to hurt you that way, you have to believe me." "I
do believe you," Max forces a smile on his face. "It doesn't change
the fact that I am upset by the news though." "Of course,"
Sophie puts her head down, suddenly feeling ashamed for her actions. "You
were so busy with the trial and Olly; I felt very alone in our relationship. I
know that's not an excuse, but it's how I felt." "I was fighting
for my son," Max tells her. "And thank God I did, because he is at home
with me, where he should be. Is there anything you want to get off your chest?"
Sophie looks back at him and wonders if she should say anything about knowing
that he slept with Natasha. Immediately, however, she realizes that if she does
want to get revenge on her mother, she has to keep the affair to herself, at least
for now. "Soph?" Max asks her, causing her to snap back into
reality. "Was there anything you wanted to talk to me about?" "Uh,
yea," Sophie looks back at him. "I
I think we should break up,
Max. I
I've been thinking about this and I just don't think we are in the
same place anymore. You have Olly, and that really should be your focus."
Max nervously chuckles back to her. "You don't have to justify that to
me," he admits to her. "I
I was thinking the same thing, actually."
"You were?" "Yea, I was," Max admits to her. "You're
a great girl, Sophie, you really are, but we are in very different places in our
lives. For the record, if I ever did anything to hurt you, I am sorry."
Sophie feels her eyes swell with water. "I'm sorry too, I really I am,
Max." The Cascade Apartments; Cassie, Jacob, & Carter's Home
In the large king-size bed in the primary bedroom, Cassie and Jacob lay next
to one another with a fresh layer of sweat on their naked bodies. They just finished
having sex with one another and now are trying to catch their breathes. "You
know, one of the perks of Carter going to daycare is we can have this time together,"
Cassie chuckles to her lover before she rolls over to face him and runs her hand
over his muscular chest. She is on cloud nine that her marriage to Jacob is back
on track, and she is determined to ensure that nothing come between them again.
"I needed you, Jacob." "I know, I needed that too,"
he chuckles back to her. "One thing that we don't have to worry about is
our chemistry, Cassie. We have that nailed down pat." "That
we do," Cassie lays her head on his chest. "You know, I've been thinking
about something Jacob. We
we are happy, aren't we?" "Of
course, we are happy," Jacob pats her head with his hand. "You, me,
and Carter, we are a family." "I love that we are," Cassie
looks back into his eyes. "But that's just thing, Jacob. I'm
I'm not
getting any younger." Jacob arches his eyebrow back to her. "What
are you getting at? You know your age doesn't bother me." "No,
it's not that," she replies to him quickly. "It's just
if we wanted
to have another baby, we should do it sooner than later." Jacob's
eyes open wider in shock. "You want to have another baby?" "I
do," Cassie nods back to him. "I want to give Carter a little baby brother
or sister, Jacob. What do you say? Do you want to have another baby with me?"
Twin Peaks General Hospital
Stephanie sits behind her desk at
the hospital trying to focus on the patient files that are in front of her. As
she reads the latest report on one of her patients, she finds the words on the
page start to blur as she is unable to focus on the document. She finally sets
the file down and lets out a loud groan in frustration. She can't help
but remember that Cassie has discovered her secret: she was born a man, but she
transitioned years earlier. She knows that she has been living her life as a woman
for years now, but it is something that she hasn't shared with many people, including
her employer. Cassie is using the secret to blackmail her into staying away from
Jacob, so she has ended her friendship with Jacob, which has caused her heartache
as she enjoyed getting to know Jacob. If she is honest with herself, she knows
that she was having a crush on him, so maybe the separation will be good for her
because the last thing she wanted to do was come between his marriage, even though
she wants him away from Cassie now that she has seen her true colors. "Right
before Christmas, I told myself that if I could find a secret from Cassie's past,
I could use it to counter her blackmail," she whispers to herself as she
taps her chin with her finger. "But how could I uncover a secret from Cassie's
past? How am I going to do this?" She stands up from her chair and
moves to the small bar in her office, where she pours herself a glass of water
and takes a sip of it quickly. "What could I do to find out what you're hiding
Cassie? I know a woman like you must have skeletons in her closet, and I refuse
to let you control me and my life. Oh no, I will stop you Cassie, even if it's
the last thing I do." Next on One Day at a Time - Logan
