Previously on One Day at a Time
- Melissa told Cory and Robin that Rebecca is pregnant. Cory wanted to have a pregnancy test. Robin was crushed. Rebecca was worried what her mother had indicated
- Lukas suggested to Andy that he hold a benefit in Reese's honor
- Robbie learned that Jeff was engaged to Meggan
- Shane learned that the investigation into how he discovered Natasha was pregnant was moving forward. Dawn, meanwhile, encouraged Paige to continue to pursue Shane

Scene One - Twin Peaks General Hospital

Cory stands in the waiting room looking out the window as the bright winter sun shines on him. He feels the warmth on his face for a moment then opens his eyes, looking at the snow that covers the ground outside. He shivers a little at thought of being cold and then turns around to look away from the sun. He paces a little and moves over to the table where he has a cold cup of coffee. He drinks it but makes a sour face as he does so. He throws the cup in the trash and looks up as he sees someone in the standing in the entry way of the waiting room.

"Dominick," Cory sys to his father in law. "How long have you been there?"

"Long enough to know that you're worried about today," Dominick replies to him as he crosses his arms across his chest and moves closer to Cory.

"I am guessing you know what is going on?"

"That you slept with Rebecca while Robin was fighting for her life and may have gotten her pregnant?" Dominick asks him. "Yea, Robin filled me in on everything."

"Well, before you tear into me, you have to know how sorry I am. I never meant for any of this to happen," Cory explains to Dominick, trying to make his father in law understand.

"I get that you were lonely," Dominick, surprisingly, remains calm. "But of all the women you could have turned to, it had to be Robin's sister? You know that's what stings the most, don't you?"

Cory puts his head down. "I get it. I just hope that this is all some huge mistake."

"You better hope it is," Dominick tells him. "Because I'm worried Robin will have a relapse if this this all true. And if that happens, I'm coming straight for you."

Cory nods back to him. "Understood."

"When is the test?"

"Should be any time now," Cory replies to Dominick.

"Give me a call as soon as you know something," Dominick tells him. "I have to get to work."

"I will Dominick."

"And Cory," Dominick stops and turns to face him one more time. "Never hurt Robin like this again."

"Are you in the middle of something?" Victoria asks Shane as she opens the door to his office and moves inside.

Shane looks up from his files on his desk and shakes his head. "I can make time for you," he says as he stands up. "What's going on?"

"I wanted you hear the latest from me," she tells him as she moves closer to his desk. "The board of directors, they have started their investigation into how you learned about Natasha's pregnancy."

Shane sighs and runs his hands through his hair. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised," he tells her, trying not to worry even though he is. "I knew that this was coming. What do you think this means?"

"Honestly, I don't think it will go well for you. You looked at a patient's file," Victoria reminds him, as he folds his arms across his chest. "I think they may end up suspending you."

Shane sighs and nods back to her. "Well, thank you for telling me the investigation has started. I won't be surprised by anything that happens going forward."

Scene Two - The Sugarbowl

Robbie checks his watch quickly and realizes that he is running late for a meeting he has with Dominick. He hasn't seen much of him lately because of the holidays but it is still critical that they speak. Just as he puts his coat on, however, the door to the coffeehouse opens and Jeff walks inside. Robbie looks at the man who sued him for half of Leah's estate and immediately feels his blood boil. Robbie knows that he should ignore Jeff but he finds himself walking up to him.

"I hear congratulations are in order," Robbie smugly says to Jeff.

Jeff tries to put a smile on his face even though he knows that Robbie is being an asshole to him right now because he is engaged to Meggan. "Thanks, Robbie," he says politely. "I wasn't expecting you to say anything to me."

"How could I not?" Robbie asks him back. "You clearly have no respect for Paige's feelings about the situation."

"Don't you dare bring my daughter into this," Jeff warns him.

"Why not? You have to know how much she despises Meggan, the woman who killed her brother," Robbie reminds him.

Jeff sighs. "I don't know why I bother with you. You have no idea what forgiveness is."

"Forgiveness? You're a joke, Jeff," Robbie continues to blast him. "And, a disgusting joke at that."

"I don't have time for this."

"Of course you don't," Robbie spits at him. "I hope you know what you're doing, Jeff, because you're going to lose everything you've worked for."

Scene Three - MW Investigations

"I don't know it's possible that I've been in town this long and this is the first time I've been to your office," Lukas tells Meggan as she shows him around her office at MW Investigations.

Meggan gets a grin on her face. "It's probably because you are so busy with the men in your life," she teases him as she recalls on Christmas Day how Lukas admitted to her that he was torn between some men.

"Very funny," Lukas replies to her.

"Have you made any decisions on that front?"

Lukas shakes his head no. "I don't know what to do Meggan. It's all so confusing."

"And you still don't think that telling Dad will lighten the burden you're under?" Meggan asks him next. "I know you're worried but he may surprise you."

"I know that's what you think," Lukas reveals to her. "But, I don't think he would be that understanding. I just get this feeling he wants me to be with a woman."

"I know that's what he has tried to do in the past but I think he's changed these last few years," Meggan tells him. "I don't want to pressure you but think about it."

"I will," he gives her a grin. "Anyways, let me see that diamond on your finger again."

Meggan joyfully shows her ring to her brother. "Man, Jeff does have good taste."

"Not only with the ring but with his choice of brides!" Meggan giggles back to her brother.

Lukas pulls her into a hug. "I'm happy for you sis, I really am."

Scene Four - Twin Peaks General Hospital

Shane stands at his filing cabinet putting some files away as his mind races about the pending investigation that the board of directors at the hospital is completing on him. He knows that at the time he felt justified in reading Natasha's medical file so he could learn what was going on with her but now that he realizes how serious this is, he is scared that it may cost him his career.

He slams the filing cabinet shut.

"Rough day?" a voice calls out from the doorway of his office.

Shane turns around and sees Paige standing there with a sly grin on her face. She finishes moving inside the office and closes the door behind her. "You could have left that filing for me, you know I would have done that for you," she tells him.

"I know, I just needed to do something," Shane replies to her quickly as he moves to his desk and sits back down.

"What's wrong?" she asks him as she moves closer to him.

He sighs and runs his hands over his face. "They are investigating something I've done here at the hospital. I could be suspended."

"My goodness, what could have happened?" she asks him as she arrives around his desk and is standing in front of his chair.

He looks up at her and shakes his head. "I don't want to burden you with this," he admits to her as he stands up and looks at her.

She reaches out and grabs his hands. "You know I'm here for you, right?"

Shane looks at their touching hands and then looks into her eyes. "Paige,"

"Don't say anything," she says moving closer to him. "Let me help you Shane."

"We can't do this," he replies to her as their lips are inches away from each other. "We can't cross that line, not again. We have to just be friends."

Paige feels her eyes swell with some water but she nods back to him. "I can do that. Just let me help you, okay?"

"I appreciate that," he tells her. "As soon as I know how you can help, I will let you know."

Scene Five - The Calimo Mansion

"Lukas had this idea for a gala or benefit that would honor Reese," Andy explains to Bob and Kim as they sit in the living room of the Calimo mansion as he tells them about Lukas' idea from the other day. Andy had never thought of doing something to honor his husband but as soon as Lukas presented him with the idea, Andy fell in love with it and wants to run with it.

"Well, I think it is a wonderful idea," Bob tells Andy. "I think after everything you went through, it would be a very touching tribute."

"I agree with Bob," Kim tells her brother. "And if there's anything that we can do to help, you will let us know?"

Andy smiles back to them. "Kim, I could use your help planning this. I don't have much experience."

"Of course," Kim smiles back to him.

"And, I insist that you use the mansion as your venue," Bob announces to them. "I won't take no for an answer."

"You mean that?" Andy asks him surprise.

"Of course!" Bob says.

Andy stands up and hugs Bob and then Kim. "Thank you both so much. I'm going to take off so I can do some more planning."

"Call me if you need any help," Kim tells him before he turns to leave. Once Andy has left the room, Kim turns to her husband and smiles. "That was awfully nice of you."

"I knew that it would make you happy. And if it makes you happy, it makes me happy," Bob replies to her.

"I don't know what I did to deserve you," she replies to him.

He leans forward and surprises her with a kiss. "I don't know what I did to deserve you. But here we are. We should embrace it."

"I agree," she smiles to him. "We should."

Scene Six - Robertson Enterprises; Dominick's Office

Robbie opens the door to Dominick's office and moves inside quickly. Dominick looks up from his desk and sees Robbie walk straight to the bar as he pours himself a brandy.

"Rough morning?" Dominick asks him with a sly grin on his face.

Robbie finishes taking his first sip of brandy and looks back at Dominick. "I just had a run in with Jeff," he admits to him. "Can you believe that son of a bitch is marrying Meggan Richardson?"

"I've heard, yes," Dominick tells him as he stands up and moves closer to Robbie. "I just want my family to move on from the bad year we've had. Jeff deserves to have someone new in his life. I know Meggan's history but if Jeff's happy."

"I don't care about Jeff's happiness. I care about Paige!"

"She will come around too," Dominick tells him. "You should focus on you and your life. Leave Jeff to figure his own life out."

Robbie doesn't respond to Dominick, instead he finishes his brandy. "Your text sounded urgent, what is going on?" Dominick asks him as Robbie sets his glass down on the bar and turns to look at his former father in law.

"I still want revenge on my father," Robbie reveals to him. "I know you think showing him the picture of Tyler and Kim kissing was enough but I need to do something. I need to be the one to make him pay for killing Leah."

Dominick nods back to him. "Well then, what did you have in mind?"

Scene Seven - Twin Peaks General Hospital

Melissa looks at Rebecca as she comes into the hospital room wearing a hospital gown. Melissa stands up and looks at her daughter, who is clearly nervous about undergoing the pregnancy test. Melissa knows that everything will be fine; it's just a matter of telling Rebecca this and making her listen.

"Are you ready?" Melissa asks her as Rebecca starts to pace a little.

"I don't know why we agreed to do this," Rebecca snaps back at her, nervous for the upcoming procedure.

"Because Cory needs confirmation," Melissa informs her. "I knew that he would ask for this. We can't lay a bombshell like this on him and not expect him to want proof."

"But you know what the test will say, mother!" Rebecca snaps at her as she feels her heart racing inside her chest.

"I told you, I know what I'm doing," Melissa tells her daughter again. "Now, I need you to calm down. You have to be the expectant mother. You can't be worried about what will or won't happen. Can you do that for me?"

Rebecca takes a deep breath and tries to smile back to Melissa. "I can do that," she nods to her.

"Good, come to the bed and lay down. Get comfortable," Melissa tells her as Rebecca moves to the bed. "The doctor will be here soon and we can get started. Just trust me, Rebecca. I know exactly what I'm doing."

Cory continues to pace around the waiting room, hoping that he gets the test results back sooner rather later. He has no idea how he will react if Rebecca is pregnant with his child.

"This can't be happening," he whispers to himself. "There has to be some mistake. After everything Robin and I have been through, this can't happen to us."

Before he can say anything else, he turns around and sees Robin standing in front of him. "Robin," he says to his hurt wife.

"I need to know the truth," she whispers back to him. "I'm here to learn if Rebecca is pregnant."
