on One Day at a Time Scene One - Riverbench Winery; The Richardson Estate; Santa Barbara The sun slowly starts to creep up into the sky, allowing the outdoors to start to dry out after the huge rain storm from the previous night. Birds chirp and bees buzz around the vines and the grapes, as the fresh dew continues to drip onto the ground, and the smell of fresh rain lingers in the air. Jeff looks out the window of his bedroom, relieved that the storm is over. The storm in his heart, however, has just started. He turns around and looks at the woman sleeping on the sofa in his room. She looks exactly like Leah; the wife he thought was gone forever to him, is seemingly in front of him. He still recalls the night before when he finally found a missing Meggan in the garden standing with the Leah look alike. As soon as he saw her, he was stunned beyond belief. The last two years of his life have been hell because he thought Leah was dead. Now, everything has changed. He immediately knew that the three of them had to get out of the rain and once they did, he realized how late it was so everyone went to bed, although, Jeff barely slept a wink last night, however. "I think I'll go down and grab some coffee," Meggan tells him as she comes out of the washroom, wrapping a robe around herself. "I'm going to need caffeine to get through today." Jeff smirks a little at his new wife. "Yea, I hear you. I'll wait here until she wakes up then come down." Meggan nods back to him, secretly wondering where things stand with her husband if the woman is really Leah. Like Jeff, she barely slept with all the possibilities moving around her head. "See you soon," she manages to say back to him, her voice sounding hoarse from being in the cold rain for so long. Jeff watches Meggan leave the room before he moves to the sofa where Leah is sleeping and he sits on the edge of the sofa. He watches the woman sleep for a moment and he can't believe how much she looks like Leah. But can this be real? He knows that no one could have survived the explosion at Lake Tahoe. Yet, here she is in front of him. He moves his hand closer to her and ends up touching her dark hair. She stirs at his touch and slowly opens her eyes. "Good morning," he says to her as she fully wakes up, as he takes his hand away from her. "Sorry if I woke you up." "Good morning," she replies to him as she sits up. "You didn't." "Thanks for agreeing to stay here last night," he tells her. "I didn't want to risk losing you again." Leah uneasily smiles back to him. "It's fine," she says back to him. "How'd you sleep?" Jeff shrugs a little. "Not very well," he admits to her. "I just can't believe that you're back. I thought you had " "I'm here," she tells him. "You're here from Twin Peaks?" "Yea, that's right." "Who else is here?" "Everyone," he tells her. "Your Dad, your Mom, Paige, Robbie, Victoria " "Robbie's here?" her eyes open with excitement. "Can we go see them? I want to see everyone." "Yea, of course," Jeff nods back to her, a little upset that she doesn't want to spend more time with him. After all, the last time he saw her they had just gotten married in Lake Tahoe. "Let's go down for breakfast." *** Meggan enters the dining room and spots Lukas pouring himself a coffee. He turns and sees his sister come in. "You don't look like you got much sleep last night," he says with a grin on his face. "Jeff kept his new bride up all night, huh?" "Shut up," she snaps back at him as she pours herself a coffee. "I don't want to talk about it but let's just say, I don't know where things stand right now." Lukas shakes his head in concern. "Are you okay? You sound like you're catching a cold." "I will be," she tells him. "What's going on with you?" "You didn't hear about what happened last night?" he asks her in surprise. "About what?" "Dad and Jemma," Lukas replies to her as she shakes her head no. "After Jemma fainted, I guess she felt like she couldn't lie anymore. She accused Dad of raping her years ago," Lukas tells her a shocked Meggan. "What?" "It gets better," Lukas continues. "Apparently she got pregnant as a result. She's Daisy's mother," Lukas reveals to her. "Which means, she's our half-sister." Meggan stumbles backwards in shock. She has no idea how to process this latest news since she's already trying to get her head around the fact that Leah is alive. "My God, why is everything so chaotic right now?" "I know it's a shock," Lukas tells her. "I can't believe it myself." "What's happening, Lukas? Why is everything so upside down?" Scene Two - Twin Peaks Executive Hotel; Caroline's Room "How are you feeling?" Melissa asks Caroline as she moves inside the hotel room. Melissa knows that Caroline has not had the easiest of pregnancies, but she has to ensure that the doctor is okay because her plan to keep Robin and Cory apart is depending on their plan working. If something happens to the baby, then Rebecca won't get Caroline's child and nothing will be keeping Robin and Cory apart any longer, and that is something that Melissa refuses to let have happen. She's worked far too hard at this plan for it to fail now. Caroline finds herself shrugging a little, knowing that her cramping has never really stopped. She still feels it, often, despite the doctor telling her that it's fine, which can't be true. She can tell that something is seriously wrong. "You look pale," Melissa tells her, her voice filled with worry. "What is it Caroline? What's wrong?" Caroline looks back at her. "My cramping," she whispers back to her. "It's back. It's really bad this time." "Do you want to lay down? I can get you some damp towels again if you'd like," Melissa says out of concern. "Come on, let's get you into bed." As Caroline slowly makes her way over to bed, she bends over in pain. "Ahhh," she screams in agony. "Caroline!" Melissa says rushing up to her and putting her hand on Caroline's back. "Tell me, are you okay?" Caroline looks up in horror at Melissa and shakes her head. "My water just broke," she tells her with fear in her eyes. "I'm going to have this baby!" Scene Three - Cassie's Office "It's been a few weeks since we last saw each other," Cassie tells Dawn, who is laying on the sofa in Cassie's office about to have another court-ordered therapy session. Cassie has been reviewing the notes from her previous session with the younger girl and is curious about some other questions she may have for her. "How have things been?" Dawn takes a drink of the water from her water bottle before looking at Cassie. "Living at home hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be," Dawn admits to her, recalling how the Judge ordered her to move back home because she couldn't live with Max and Cassie after Cassie was appointed her therapist. "It's nice to be around my Grandma all the time." "And, what about your Mom?" Cassie asks her. "Have you made any inroads with your relationship with her? Or your Dad?" Dawn shakes her head. "I haven't seen much of them, which is good. I can't really stand either of them right now," Dawn replies to her. "Although, I did help Max a lot after he learned that Adam was his father as well." Cassie nods back to her. "I've been trying to help him as well," she reveals to Dawn. "I do think that it will take some time, however. It is interesting, however, that you claim you can't stand your parents." "Yea, Max was pretty upset but I think it's everything that has happened. And, I get why he's upset." "I was looking over the notes from our past sessions," Cassie reveals to her as Dawn sits up on the sofa. "And, I sense that there is something that you're not telling me." Dawn looks back at her in surprise. "What do you mean?" "I mean, is there something that you're not telling me? Or anyone? What other secrets do you have?" Cassie asks her. "Like, the hatred for your parents." Dawn quickly moves some hair behind her ear. "Nothing," she replies quickly, almost with a sense of apprehension. "I'm not hiding anything. As for my parents, they've made so many shitty decisions, it's easy for me to not agree with anything that they've done." Cassie uneasily nods back to her, sensing that there is something Dawn isn't telling her. The question now is: What is Dawn keeping to herself? And could it be triggering her dislike for Adam and Helen? Scene Four - The Pampa Grill "Thanks for having breakfast with me today," Adam tells Max as they sit across from one another in a booth of the restaurant. Adam recalls the previous evening when he saw his son at the Sugarbowl and Max had indicated that he wanted to do something more with his life. Adam is very happy to hear this coming from Max and he wanted to ensure that his son knows that he is there for him, with whatever he needs. "Yea, sure," Max replies before he takes a bite of his French toast. "Who doesn't like free breakfast?" Adam chuckles. "Next time should be on you," he winks back to his son. "Especially if you do follow through with doing something with your life. That's why I wanted to talk to you." "This isn't going to be a lecture, is it?" "Not at all," Adam tells him. "I just wanted to see if you had any ideas of what you'd like to do?" Max shrugs. "I have a few ideas but I'd like to figure that out on my own." "That's fair," Adam tells him. "Just know that I'm here for you, with anything that you need, anything at all." "I'll keep that mind Adam," Max says to him. "But I'd like to do this on my own. I don't want any handouts." "I wasn't suggesting a handout," Adam replies to him. "I just want you to know that I support you." Max nods back to him. "Okay, thanks Adam." "Yea, sure," Adam smiles. "But next time, call me Dad." At the door to the restaurant, Helen emerges inside. She quickly scans the restaurant and spots Adam and Max sitting together in the booth. For a brief moment, she wonders how things are going with the father and son; she knows that if she was married to Adam still, she would get all the details. And, just because she and Adam are divorce, it doesn't mean that she doesn't care anymore. She shuts her eyes and wonders what her family would look like right now had she and Adam stayed together. When she opens her eyes, she shakes her head, almost scolding herself for day dreaming. She pulls out her cell phone and finds her recent text messages, finding one from Chris. She hits reply and types, "Miss you, xo." She looks up once more and spots the two men together before she turns around and exits the restaurant altogether, long for Chris to be home again. Scene Five - Riverbench Winery; The Richardson Estate; Santa Barbara "Here, have a cup of coffee," Dominick tells Eva as he brings his wife a cup of hot coffee in front of her. "I think we all need it after the events of last night." "I barely slept last night," Paige announces to everyone. "I kept thinking that I saw my Mom. I don't know why it was so real to me." Robbie and Dominick look at each other, trying not to be worried about Paige, but the more she speaks about seeing Leah, the more they think something is wrong with her. Felicia, meanwhile, looks over at Frederick, still wondering if Leah could have been the surprise that he was talking about. Meggan pours herself another cup of coffee, not saying anything. She knows that the woman sleeping in her room looks like Leah, so Paige is still telling the truth; Leah is alive and well. Instead of saying anything, however, Meggan is going to wait for Jeff to arrive with Leah. "I think you were just dreaming," Victoria finally chimes in to Paige. "The subconscious can do that." "I guess you're right," Paige tells her back as she moves some hair behind her ear. "It just felt so real to me." "Good morning everyone," Jeff announces as he stands in the doorway of the dining room. He makes eye contact with Meggan, who gulps. He nods back to her, telling her that Leah is with him. "Good morning Jeff," Dominick replies to him. "I have something to tell everyone," Jeff continues to tell everyone. "But I don't have the words to tell you, so I'll show you." He moves out of the door way, and Leah emerges. "My God," Dominick says as he stands up and Paige gets tears in her eyes. "Mom?" she asks as she rushes into Leah's arms, which catches Leah by surprise. "Oh Leah, darling," Felicia runs up to her daughter, letting a tear flow from her cheek. "How is this possible? Never mind that, I don't care, I'm just glad that you're okay. Please tell us you're okay?" Leah looks at everyone surrounding her and uneasily smiles back to them before she nods. "I'm I'm okay." Scene Six - Twin Peaks General Hospital; Shane's Office Shane sits at his desk looking over some files that sit there waiting for him. His mind, however, is not on the work in front of him. He can't help but think of his recent therapy session with Cassie, in which she told him that she supports his decision to divorce Natasha after everything that their marriage has been through. He stands up and walks around letting out a large sigh. He knows the sorted history between himself, Natasha and Cassie, so Cassie telling him this could be another trick on her part to try to break him and Natasha up. On the other hand, however, he knows that his marriage to Natasha was falling apart long before Cassie came back into their lives. In fact, Cassie had nothing to do with their marriage collapsing. And, Cassie has been nothing but professional in their therapy sessions. "It's like she's a new woman," he whispers to himself, as his mind keeps racing about what he should do. "She's nothing like she was when she left town all those years ago." He walks back over his desk and sits down. He opens the side drawer and opens it quickly. He pulls out his divorce papers and quickly signs them. He drops his pen and runs his hands through his hair after he's done. "Now, Natasha has to sign," he says to himself. "And then I can move on with my life." Scene Seven - The Pampa Grill "I heard there was a huge storm in the Santa Barbara region last night," Natasha tells Cory as they sit across from each other having breakfast. Natasha knows that a lot of her family and friends are at the winery for the double wedding, but she hopes everyone is okay following the storm. "I hope everyone is okay." "It was just a rain storm," Cory replies to her. "I can't imagine anything that major happened. It's just water." "That's fair," she says back to him. "Anything new with you and Robin?" He shakes his head no. "I've been trying to take your advice and accept that we are really over," he admits to her. "I've been trying to avoid her and spending more time with Rebecca." "How is Rebecca?" Cory shrugs a little. "This pregnancy has really changed her," he admits to her. "She barely lets me touch her stomach and she still hasn't let me into a doctor's appointment. It's like I'm in the audience to my own life." "I'm so sorry," Natasha tells him. "I know how much you wanted to be a part of the process of the pregnancy." Before Cory can reply, his cell phone rings. He looks and sees Melissa's name on the screen. He sighs, knowing that he still has to tell Rebecca that he wants a restraining order against her for everything that Melissa has done to him, but he's waiting to have that conversation until after the baby is born. "I should get this," he says annoyed. "Hi Melissa." "Cory," she says from the hospital waiting room. "I'm so glad you picked up." "What is it?" Cory asks, looking over at Natasha. "It's Rebecca," Melissa replies to him quickly. "She's gone into labour. You should get to the hospital as soon as you can." "I'm on my way," Cory tells her before he stands up. Melissa hangs up the phone and quickly dials another number. "Rebecca, it's your mother. Caroline has gone into labour, I need you to get to the hospital now!" Scene Eight - Robertson Enterprises; The Studio Robin stands in the studio of Robertson Enterprises, looking over some recent modelling prints that the company has had. She's gone back to work for her father and she couldn't be happier. After spending so much time away, first after her baby was still born, and then when she was in the mental hospital. But being back at work has made her feel like she has purpose again, and she likes that. She looks over when she hears a knock on the door to the studio. "Yes," she calls out as she can hear the door open. "Excuse me," a voice calls out. "I was hoping to have a moment with you." Robin looks up and sees Max standing in front of her. Max looks back and is immediately reminded of when he saw Robin a few days earlier at the Sugarbowl and he was taken with her; he still can't deny that she is a very beautiful woman. "Sure, do I know you?" Robin asks him. "Max Black," he announces to her. "Adam's son?" she recalls Adam telling her about his son that has just come back into his life. Max rolls his eyes but nods his head. "Yea, look, I know you're busy, so I won't take much up of your time. I, I take a lot of pictures in my spare time and I think they're pretty good. I was hoping, maybe, you were hiring a photographer and you'd consider me?" Robin smiles back to the younger man. She knows that Adam is trying to get through to Max, but she also knows that she has to ensure she is doing the right thing for the company as a whole. But, the least she can do is give him a shot, if for nothing else, then Adam's sake. "Tell you what, Max," she tells him. "Be here tomorrow at 9 am and we'll have a formal interview. How does that sound?" "That sounds great," he smiles back to her, thrilled that he will have a chance to show Robin his photos and that he will be alone with the very beautiful woman. Scene Nine - Riverbench Winery; The Richardson Estate; Santa Barbara "How did any of this happen?" a shocked Dominick asks as he exits an embrace with Leah, as he wants to have answers as to how his daughter could have survived the explosion from a couple of years ago. Not only that, but where has she been all of this time? "I can explain," Frederick announces to everyone. "You see, I've been keeping Leah here," he continues to tell everyone as his eyes lock with Felicia's. "You were right, Felicia. You were right when you asked me if this was the surprise I had for you. This is the surprise that I have for you, your daughter." Felicia looks back at Leah, who looks glazed over by everything that is happening. Leah then looks over at Robbie and smiles. "Robbie," she calls out to him. Robbie looks over at his ex-wife and can't believe his eyes, like everyone else. "I can't believe that this is happening." Leah rushes over to him and hugs him tightly. "Oh Robbie," she says as a tear falls down her cheek as he holds her close, as Jeff, Meggan and Victoria watch in wonderment. "I've missed you so much." "I've missed you too," Robbie replies as he uneasily looks back at Victoria, who turns her head away, upset by the vision in front of her. Next
