MW Investigations

"You're not saying anything," Jeff says to Meggan, who still has her back towards him. He just finished telling her that he and Leah are going to try to make their marriage work, but he remembers that Meggan had something to tell him before he interrupted her. He can imagine that she is taking the news badly because they were in love at one time.

Meggan shuts her eyes and lets another tear fall from her eye before she quickly wipes it away. She was on the verge of telling Jeff that she was pregnant with their child, but now that she knows he is going to stay with Leah, how can she tell him the news? She shakes her head quickly and turns back around to him.

"I'm not sure that I'm surprised by this," she admits to him, finally saying something. "I have known for a long time what we had was over."

"I hope you know that I never meant to hurt you."

"No, but you did, you have," Meggan snaps back to him.

"I'm sorry," he says back to her. "What were you going to tell me?"

"It doesn't matter now," she lies to him. "I just want you to go, okay? Go and be with your new perfect life. Just forget I ever existed."

"I will never forget that you exist," he tells her. "I will always remember our time together and cherish it, Meggan. I know that it didn't end the way you wanted, but…"

"Just go!" she yells at him, not wanting to hear his apologies. "Get out of here, Jeff!"

"Okay," he whispers as he moves away from her. He stops at the door and turns to look at her one more time before he leaves the office.

Meggan covers her mouth as she gasps out a cry. "What am I going to do?" she cries to herself, as her hand finds her stomach.

The Sugarbowl

Adam scurries into the coffeehouse desperate to get out of the cold, winter air that is still in Twin Peaks. As he moves inside, he happens to see Robin walking towards the exit. He sighs quickly realizing that she is approaching him; the last thing he needs to have another discussion with her regarding why he ended their relationship. The truth is, he can't be with her because he is impotent. While she doesn't know this, he does wish that she could just move and accept that they are over.

"Cold day, huh?" Robin asks him as she comes up to him. "Do you want me to treat you to a coffee?"

"Nah, thanks," Adam replies to her. "I'm meeting Natasha here in a little while just to catch up with her."

"That's nice," she smiles back to him. "It's good that you can be friends with her."

Adam uneasily nods back to her. "I'd like to think that maybe one day you and I could get to that point."

"Adam," she looks into his eyes. "I don't want to be your friend, I want to be your lover. I want to be your rock, like we were before the accident. I still don't understand how that night changed everything for us."

"I know that's what you want," Adam replies to her. "But Robin, please, you have to accept this, okay? We can't be together. Not now, I have to focus on Dawn and my family. Please, respect my decision."

"Adam," she starts to plead with him.

"No," he cuts her off. "Please, just respect my decision, okay? I'll see you around."

Before she can reply, he walks up to the counter and places his order. Robin watches him and stops herself from getting tears in her eyes. She knows that something more is going on with Adam, but what could it be? And, how will she get to the truth?

The Park

"Thanks for walking with me to work today," Cassie smiles over to her son as they walk through the park, slowly making their way to Cassie's office on Main Street. "We don't often get the chance to connect like this."

"Yea, I guess that's been my fault," Max replies to his mom. "I've been busy."

"It's no one's fault," she tells him. "I'm just saying that it is nice to connect with my son. How are things going with you? Are you still pursuing that girl? It seems to be taking a long time for you two to get together."

Max uneasily chuckles back to her, as he recalls how he recently learned that Adam is impotent, which is the reason that he has been pushing Robin away. Max realizes that this could be the piece of information that could finally snag him Robin; he can be the man that she needs, that she deserves, while his father certainly cannot be.

"It is taking a while," he nods back to her. "But, you know what? Good things are worth waiting for. I have to believe that I will be with her."

"I'm glad you are so full of confidence. You deserve to be happy, Max. That's all I want for you."

"Thanks Mom," he squeezes her hand. "How are things with you and Shane?"

It's Cassie's turn to pause and think about her so-called relationship with the doctor. She knows that she is only with Shane to make Natasha squirm; she loves sticking it to Natasha and if Shane is the way to do it, so be it. "I'm throwing a birthday party soon," she reveals to him. "I thought it would be a nice way to show him how much I care."

"That's nice of you."

"Can I expect you to be there?" Cassie asks him, as he nods back to her.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world."

"Good, because I think it will be a party to remember," Cassie purses her lips together.

Twin Peaks Police Station

"I was surprised to hear back from you so soon," Helen admits to Simona as they sit across from one another in her office at the police station. Helen recalls how just earlier in the day she and Adam were asking Simona if there was any way that Barbara could be released from jail because she acted in self-defense when she shot Jonah since he raped Dawn.

"I know," Simona nods back to her. "But after you and Adam left, I did some digging," Simona reveals to her.

Helen arches her eyebrow. "What kind of digging?" Helen asks her. "Does this mean that you found a way to prove that Barbara was acting in self-defense?"

"I did," Simona stuns Helen by her admission. "I was able to get a Judge to grant me access to medical files at the hospital," Simona reveals to her. "It turns out that your daughter did undergo a rape examination last fall."

"Yes, she did," Helen nods back to her.

"In the file, she named Jonah as her attacker," Simona continues to tell her. "Based on these facts, the DA agreed that Barbara was likely acting in self-defense."

"Thank God," Helen covers her mouth. "Does that mean she gets to go home?"

"As long as Barbara agrees to do 300 hours of community service, she will be able to leave," Simona says back to her.

"I can't believe this," Helen replies to her. "Thank you, Simona. Thank you so much."

"I hope this is the start of you and your family healing," Simona tells her. "You have all been through enough."

Before Helen can say anything, Simona's telephone rings. "Detective Simona Lopez," she says into her phone. "Really? That's interesting. I'll be right over."

She hangs up the phone and looks at Helen. "Sorry to cut this short, but I have to go."

"No, that's fine," Helen stands up. "Thank you again, detective. You've given me the best news I've had in a very long time."

The Riverside Delicatessen

"So, you're adopted?" Paige asks Cheresa as they sit across from one another in the restaurant, enjoying a sandwich and a coffee together.

"Yup," Cheresa replies to her new found friend. "This is my brother."

She holds up her phone to show a picture of Brad to Paige. "Wow, he's cute."

Cheresa chuckles back to her. "I don't know about that," she winks back to her. "When you live someone, you see how uncute they can be."

Paige laughs back to her. "That's fair. What was it like? Being adopted, I mean?"

Cheresa shrugs her shoulders. "I haven't known anything different, so it's been fine. My parents are really cool, for the most part. I mean, my Dad didn't take it so well that I am gay, but since I got back from the Bible camp and he knows what happened to Dawn, he's really come around."

"That's great," Paige tells her. "Do you ever wonder about your real parents?"

"I mean, I guess sometimes," Cheresa admits to her. "But, like I said, for the most part, my parents are pretty cool. I always just figured that my parents gave me up because they had no other choice. I am not about to hold that against them. Anyways, enough about me. You and Andrew seem pretty tight?"

"Yea, we are," Paige nods back to her. "He wants to move things along, if you know what I mean."

"Sex?"

Paige blushes a little. "I just don't know if I'm ready or not."

"Only you'll know for sure," Cheresa tells her friend. "But, don't let him pressure you. You have to be 100% ready because once you do it, you can't go back."

Paige uneasily nods back to her. "Yea, thanks for that."

"How about we finish up and go to the mall? I need some new shoes."

"Music to my ears!" Paige giggles back to her.

Twin Peaks General Hospital

"How is she?" Eva asks Dominick as he walks out of the hospital room where Felicia is, once again, resting. She looks at her husband and can see the worry written all over his face as when Felicia awoke today, she claimed that she started the fire at the boutique last fall. Eva knows that Dominick doesn't want to believe that this is true but if Felicia is admitting to it, in Eva's mind, it must be true.

"The doctors gave her another sedative," Dominick replies to his wife. "She was getting worked up thinking that she started the fire."

"Dominick, I know you might now want to hear this…"

"But, you think she did it? You think Felicia started the fire?"

Eva shrugs her shoulders. "I know it's not the news you wanted to hear, but she was off her medication and now, she is saying that she did start the fire. I'm not sure why we wouldn't believe her."

Before Dominick can reply to her, Simona Lopez walks up to them. "Good day," she purses her lips together, already upsetting Dominick. "I got a call advising that Felicia woke up and claimed she started the fire. I'd like to question her."

"That's not possible," Dominick grits his teeth back to her, knowing that he has to protect Felicia as long as he can. "She's been medicated so she can rest. She was upset earlier."

"Because she claimed she started the fire?" Simona asks him back, as Dominick rolls his eyes. "Look, Mr. Robertson, I'm just trying to do my job, you can either assist me or be a thorn in my side, but I will investigate this fire with or without your help. And, if Felicia is claiming she started the fire, I have to pursue it. Understood?"

Dominick sighs heavily and looks back at her and then over at Eva, who nods her head back to him. "Very well," he whispers back to her. "You can talk to her, when she wakes up. Until then, you keep your distance, understood?"

Meanwhile, in Felicia's hospital room, she lays still in her bed, fast asleep from the medication she was given. Softly in the air, however, the words "I started the fire," repeat over and over from the device Bob planted in her room that is behind the picture hanging on the wall.

"I started the fire," Felicia mumbles in her sleep before she rolls over in the bed. "I started the fire."

Roboto; Bob's Office

"How did Bob take the news that you gave me a job here?" Tyler asks Kim as she pours herself a glass of red wine from the bar in Bob's office. Tyler knows that Bob probably wasn't very happy that he was joining his company because of their sorted history and the fact that he is Dominick's son. Still, Tyler couldn't be happier to be given the chance to hurt his father.

"As well as to be expected," Kim takes a sip of her wine. "But, like I told you, he came around, as I knew he would. Bob trusts me and when I tell him that you're good for the company, he listened to me. That being said, he did say that he would put you on a short probation."

"That makes sense," Tyler nods back to her. "I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. I was going crazy not having a job. And, this is a way for me to get revenge on my father."

"I presented both of those points to Bob to build my case," she replies to him. "Now, do you have any ideas on any products or lines that you'd like to focus on?"

"Actually, I'm glad that you mention that because I do have an idea," Tyler informs her. "It's very preliminary, but I think it could be a great idea."

"I'm listening," Kim tells him.

"Every summer, Big Brother is a very popular TV show," Tyler starts to tell her. "What if we did something that like here at Roboto? We could launch a new teen line and throw a bunch of teens into a house where people could watch and see them using the products and having a fun summer. We could call it … I don' t know, TeenLand by Roboto or something."

"Interesting," Kim nods her head back to him. "I like the idea of seeing real young kids using the products, very much like a real Big Brother."

"We could have cool interactive segments where the audience can decide the daily activities for the guests or they can select prizes for the guests in the house that we put them up in," Tyler continues. "Again, it's all very new but I think it could be cool."

"I agree," Kim smiles back to him. "I'll run the idea past Bob and I'll you know?"

"You don't want me to be there to present the idea?"

"No, let me do it," Kim tells him. "If he agrees, you can be in every meeting going forward."

"Okay," Tyler says back to her.

"By the way, how is your Mom doing?" Kim asks him, changing the subject, knowing that she wants to know how Felicia is doing.

Tyler sighs a little. "I actually was at the hospital before coming here," he admits to her. "When she woke up, she admitted to starting the fire at the boutique."

"She did!?" Kim excitedly asks, realizing that she might have blown her cover. She quickly changes her tone. "I'm sorry to hear that."

"Thanks, I don't know what will happen now, but it probably isn't good. That's why I'm glad I have this job, it'll help me take my mind off things."

"Well, anything to help," Kim uneasily smiles back to him. "I'm here."

City Hall; Daisy's Office

Vinny opens the door to his wife's office and sees her sitting behind her desk reviewing files that are in front of her. He watches her for a moment and wonders what is really going on with her; he knows that they haven't been close in a very long time, since before Jemma passed away last year. He craves being with her again, but he also knows that he can't rush things because she is still grieving and she blames him for Jemma's death, which he can't seem to dodge his way around. He just hopes that they can regain their once solid foundation because he wants nothing more than to make his marriage work.

"I didn't even see you leave the house this morning," he finally says to her, causing Daisy to look up and over at her husband.

"Yea, sorry, I have a million things to do today," she replies to him, looking back at the files in front of her.

He moves into the office and closes the door behind himself. "How about we have dinner tonight? It will give us a chance to catch up and maybe reconnect?"

"I'll have to take a rain cheque," she doesn't look back at him. "Like I said, I have a million things to do."

"Is that all it is?" he asks her, coming up to her desk. "Daisy, we haven't been close in a very long time. I'm beginning to wonder if we even have a marriage."

Daisy puts her pen down and covers her face for a moment. The moment her eyes are shut, she remembers how close she came to having sex with Tyler a few weeks earlier. She finally looks up at Vinny. "I'm sorry, okay?" she tells him. "I just…I'm going through something right now and, I know it's not want you want to hear, but I guess I need time."

"I get that," he nods back to her. "But there was time when you leaned on me when things got difficult. All I'm asking is that we try to do that again."

"I can't make any promises," she tells him. "I'm trying my best."

"I know you are," he tells her. "Can I help with anything? Even if it's taking some of these files off your desk?"

"That would be great," Daisy replies to him. "Because, you know we are in an election year. I have to start working on my campaign if I want to get re-elected."

"Okay," Vinny says back to her. "Tell me what I can do to help you get re-elected, Mrs. Mayor."

The Sugarbowl

"Thanks for meeting me today," Adam tells Natasha as they sit across from one another in the back booth of the coffee house. "It seems like it has been awhile since we've had the chance to catch up."

"It has," Natasha nods back to her friend. "I've heard about the on-goings with Barbara and Dawn, you must be a wreck."

"I'm just trying to be there for my daughter," Adam tells her. "I wish everyone would understand that."

Natasha arches her eyebrow. "Whom are you talking about?"

"Robin is having a hard time with us separating," he reveals to her. "She keeps pressuring me to get back together when I have told her I need to be there for Dawn right now."

"You did seem to end the relationship rather abruptly," Natasha tells him. "Are you sure there's nothing else going on?"

"I'm sure," Adam waves his hand in the air. "I'll just be happy when she excepts my choice."

Natasha looks over at the doorway and sees Robin looking at their table. Robin makes eye contact with Natasha before she turns and rushes out of the coffeehouse. Just as Robin leaves, Cassie walks into the Sugarbowl.

"Oh God," Natasha groans to Adam, who turns around and sees Cassie walk up to the counter.

"I take it you and Cassie still haven't made up?"

"Has hell frozen over?" Natasha chuckles back to him. "I think she's using Shane to get back at me in some sick twisted way. I just have to find a way to prove it."

"Why would she do that?" Adam asks her, thinking Natasha is grasping at straws.

"Why does that woman do anything? There's no rhyme or reason with her," Natasha tells him. "Actually, give me a moment. I want to go say something to her."

"I'll be here wishing I had popcorn," Adam chuckles as Natasha scurries up to Cassie.

"Natasha," Cassie says as she grabs her latte from the counter. "I'm not sure I have time for this today. I have a meeting I have to get too."

"Well, you're going to hear me out because I have something I have to say," Natasha stands in her way from walking around her causing Cassie to sigh heavily. "I know that you're using Shane to get to me. It's the type of sick thing you'd do."

"Why do you care so much?" Cassie shakes her head back to her, secretly loving how riled up Natasha is. "If you're so happy with Cory, you shouldn't care who Shane is with."

"I will get to the truth," Natasha warns her. "And when I prove it, you will lose Shane, again because you're pathetic."

"I guess I should tell you," Cassie purses her lips together. "I'm throwing Shane a birthday party. I hope you and Cory can come," Cassie smiles to her. "It's just a nice gesture I'm doing to show Shane how much I care about him. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm late."

Natasha glares at her as Cassie walks out of the coffeehouse. "I won't let you win Cassie, I refuse to."

The Park

After Robin leaves the Sugarbowl, she quickly walks towards the park desperate for some fresh air after having another rejection from Adam. She wishes that she knew what really happened to cause him to leave her because she knows that there must be more to the story than he is giving her; he could be there for Dawn and be with her at the same time, she knows this.

As she finds the pathway through the park, she looks up and sees Max sitting on a bench that looks out at the frozen river. She recalls how the younger man kissed her on Christmas Day and when she spoke to Cory about it, he claimed that Max could just be an excited teenager, which Robin realizes. Still, she has to make him realize that they could never be anything but friends.

"Robin, hey," Max stands up, getting ready to leave and seeing his crush walking past him.

"Hi," she looks over at him. "I didn't see you there," she lies to him, knowing she was going to walk past him.

"You look like you're in a hurry," he tells her. "Do you have a moment?"

"I was heading to the hospital to see my Dad," she tells him. "Felicia is still in the hospital, I wanted to see how everyone was doing."

"I hope everything is okay," Max tells her. "I am glad that I ran into you, though. I wanted to talk to you, about our kiss at Christmas."

"I told you that we could only be friends," Robin replies to him quickly.

"I know, I know," Max waves his hand in the air. "But, I also talked to my Dad and he told me that he has ended things with you. I was just hoping that if he can't be a man for you, I could try to be? You don't have to answer me now, just think about it, okay? I care about you and I would love to show you how much I care."

"Max…"

"No, like I said, think about it okay?" Max cuts her off. "That's all I'm asking for."

The Claus House; Jeff, Leah & Paige's Home

Leah walks into the living room and spies Jeff pouring himself a scotch from the bar. She arches her eyebrow wondering why he is drinking at this hour of the day. "Rough day?" she asks as she tosses her purse onto the sofa.

"I told Meggan that we are going to make our marriage work," he reveals to her before he takes a sip of his scotch.

"I can see how well that went," she replies to him as she comes up to him and wraps her arms around him. "I hope I'm not causing you too much grief."

"You're not causing me anything but happiness," he tells her. "I love you and I'm so glad we are making this pact to be together again."

"Me too," she smiles before she leans in and kisses him.

"I was thinking, actually," he says back to her as he looks into her eyes. "I have an idea of how we can prove to everyone that we are stronger than ever and more committed to one another than ever, including people like Meggan."

Leah arches her eyebrow. "Do tell."

"Let's renew our vows," he says with a twinkle in his eyes. "Let's throw a huge wedding and invite everyone we know to show how committed we are to one another! What do you say, Leah? Marry me? Again?"

Leah hugs him and then kisses him passionately. "I'd love nothing more than to marry you again!"
