Episode Theme song: "When
the World Was at War We Just Kept Dancing" Lana Del Rey Previously
on One Day at a Time Twin Peaks General Hospital "I can't believe that we are grandparents," Brooke tells Greg as they leave Meggan's hospital room, having met her baby boy for the first time. What they don't know, however, is that the baby is actually Jeff's, not Brad's. They still believe the child they just met is their grandchild, so they are on cloud nine with excitement. "Brad certainly is excited," Greg replies to her. "He seems very happy, probably the happiest he's ever been in his life." "Do you remember when we had Brad?" Brooke looks back at him, as the memories come flooding back to her. "We, too, were over the moon." "We have had a lot of good years together, Brooke," he tells his wife, as he starts to think about his kiss with Kim recently. He knows that he is getting closer to having an affair with her, which would upset Brooke, no doubt, but after her affair, it would be karma. "But, we've also had a lot of dark times." "Why would you mention that to me now?" Brooke snaps at him, knowing that Greg takes every chance he can get to throw her past mistakes in her face. And, it particularly stings now because she just had another affair with Robbie. "I told you that we have to move on from the past." "I have forgiven you," he tells her. "But, I haven't forgotten." "You make that perfectly clear every fucking chance you get," she rolls her eyes at him. "I need to get out of here. Tell the kids I needed some air." Greg doesn't stop his wife from walking away from him. What should be the one of the happiest days of their life is quickly turning into just another day in the Lawson marriage. *** Inside Meggan's hospital room, she holds her baby boy in her arms while Brad sits next to her, looking at them with a grin on his face. He can't believe how tiny the baby is, or how much he loves him already; and he knows that he isn't even the child's father, but he still loves him with everything he is. "I can't get over how perfect he is," Brad tells her as they lock eyes with one another. "He's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." "He is beautiful," Meggan replies to him. "I can't believe he's finally here." "I can't believe that you had to give birth at the cabin. That must have been scary for you." "I'm just glad that Leah was there," she admits to him. "Out of all the people in the world I thought would deliver my child, Leah would be very low on the list." "We owe her a lot," Brad nods back to her. "I'm just glad that you, and the baby, are okay." "Me too," she smiles back to him. "And, he is the best thing that's ever happened to me." "I guess that just leaves one final thing," he tells her as she arches her eyebrow. "You have to name him. What are you going to call our baby?" *** Leah continues pace back and forth in a waiting room of the hospital, her mind racing about why Meggan was calling out Jeff's name after she gave birth at the cabin. Leah can't help but wonder if Jeff, not Brad, is actually the father of the baby now. Why else would Meggan have been calling his name? Something doesn't make sense to her, but she knows that she has to find out the truth. "But how?" she asks herself. "How can I find out the truth?" "The truth about what?" Jeff asks his wife as he walks into the waiting room, with Paige following him. "Jeff, Paige, what are you guys doing here?" she turns around and sees her family approaching her. "You haven't heard?" Paige asks her mother as they hug. "Andrew hit his head and fell into the pool at the Summer Send-Off Dance in the Gen Next house; he almost died." "What? My God, are you okay?" Leah pulls Paige into another hug. "I'll fill you in later," Jeff tells his wife as they lock eyes, knowing that they have to discuss Paige's drinking. "What are you doing here? I thought we were going to meet at the cabin?" "I got to the cabin," Leah reveals to them. "But, Meggan was there. Apparently she and Brad had the same idea as us." "Meggan was at the cabin?" Jeff asks her in surprise. "Yea, and when she found out you were coming, her water broke. I delivered her baby," Leah reveals to them in surprise. "What? Mom, whoa, that's kinda awesome," Paige tells her with a smile on her face. "She gave birth," Jeff whispers to himself, thinking about how they have shared some close moments recently. Leah looks over at him and can tell that the wheels are turning are in his head too. "How about we go home and we can talk there?" Leah suggests, wanting to get out of the hospital. "You must be ready to go home," she says to Paige. "Yea, let's go, that sounds good," Jeff looks back at his wife, both thinking a lot more than they are saying. City Hall Robbie walks around his new office with a sly grin on his face. In some ways, he still can't believe that he is the mayor of Twin Peaks and that his new office is in City Hall. The space is far more lavish than he thought it would be, and the power he has is a rush. He moves to the desk and puts his hands on it, feeling the history of the previous mayors in his hands. He smiles to himself, unable to contain himself by what he has accomplished. "It feels good, doesn't it?" a voice calls out at the doorway of the office, causing Robbie to turn to see Daisy standing in her former office. "It's quite the rush, knowing that you have all this power." "It's unlike anything else I've ever experienced," Robbie admits to her. "I know that my being here means you had to leave, but I hope there are no hard feelings?" "That's why I'm here," Daisy replies to him. "I wanted to personally come and congratulate you on your win. We had a good race, Robbie. But, it wasn't my time." "I appreciate you saying that," Robbie tells her. "For what it's worth, I don't think I would have won had " "That picture not been leaked?" she uneasily chuckles to finish his sentence. "Yea, I'd like to know who leaked the photo," she says as she looks at him with intent. "It wasn't me, if that's what you're thinking," he informs her. "I wanted to win, but I would never do that to you, you have to know that." Daisy looks back at him and realizes that he is telling the truth. "I believe you," she manages to say. "I still don't know who leaked it though. Cause whoever did, they ruined my career and my marriage, not necessarily in that order." "Look, I know this may be bold of me, but if you want to come back to work for me, I'd love to have your experience on my team." Daisy purses her lips together. "You're kind, but right now I have to focus on getting my life back on track." "I get it," Robbie nods back to her. "But the offer stands." Roboto; Tyler's Office Tyler sits at his desk in the Roboto building reading some articles about the Gen Next House online and he can't help but feel a sense of pride. Despite the dramatic ending to the summer, the overall campaign has been a massive hit. Roboto sales are through the roof, and the ratings for the Gen Next House were surprisingly good, even during the Summer Send-Off Dance, where Andrew almost died. The event, which could have been tragic, has actually made the entire campaign more popular because people loved the dramatic ending. "Cheresa is a hero!" he reads out loud one of the Tweets from the Gen Next feed. "I can't believe how amazing this campaign turned out to be," he whispers to himself. "I hope Bob and Kim are happy with this, because sales are great." He stops and pauses to think about Bob and Kim and the last time he was at the Calimo mansion. He was in Bob's study when he found the odd device that Kim told him was a family heirloom; he still doesn't know what it is but he finds it hard to believe its old because it looks like something very advanced technology wise. He stands up and moves to his briefcase and opens it quickly. He pulls out the device and inspects it closer. "What are you?" he asks himself as he looks at it. "And why do I get the feeling that you are more important to me than I realize?" *** Meanwhile, in Bob's office, Kim pours two scotches and passes one to her husband. "I think we handled that press conference perfectly, don't you?" she asks him before she takes a sip of the drink. "I do," he nods back to her, remembering how they addressed the models of the Gen Next House drinking at the Summer Send-Off Dance. "We had some tough questions but we handled it well. And, based on the reports I've been receiving, the drama has actually helped sales." "You're kidding?" Kim smiles back to him. "I didn't expect that to happen." "Nor did I," he tells her. "Just like you kissing Greg Lawson; I wasn't expecting that either." Kim sighs back to him. "Darling, I told you exactly why that happened. I have been flirting with him to get information on Felicia. We need to be informed of her status to ensure she isn't remembering anything. And, you'll be happy to know that I gave him an idea that will prevent her from remembering anything maybe ever." Bob arches his eyebrow back to her. "What on earth are you talking about?" "I suggested to him that he perform electroshock therapy on Felicia," Kim informs him. "And, he seemed most interested." Bob can't help but get a devilish grin on his face. "You didn't?" "I did," she moves closer to him. "I'm telling you, everything I'm doing is to ensure we remain on top, Bob. I'm doing this because I love you." He kisses her passionately. "I love you too," he tells her as their lips part. "Lock the door and meet me on the sofa," she purrs to him. "I need you so badly." Bob chuckles as he moves to the door. "Then you'll have me," he says with lust in his eyes. Raven's Meadow "You're looking very pretty today, Barbara," Felicia tells her new friend as they sit in the common room of the hospital together. Felicia is trying to make a leaf shaped craft, while Barbara is sitting still. Felicia, who has slowly begun to feel better since she has been on her new medication, knows that Barbara is still not speaking but she hopes that she will be back to her normal self soon. "Did I tell you, I saved you a spot at lunch," Felicia continues to carry on a one-sided conversation. "We can sit together. You know, today they are serving us chicken rice soup, I'm most looking forward to it." Before Felicia can say anything else, a nurse comes up to her and Barbara. "Sorry to interrupt ladies, but Barbara has a visitor. Felicia looks over at her with a smile on her face. "Well, isn't that just lovely," Felicia tells her. "Someone has come to see you! Isn't that wonderful?" The nurse helps Barbara stand up and they slowly walk out of the common room. Soon, they are entering another room where Helen is waiting for her mother. Helen gets a tear in her eye at the sight of Mom being brought in by an orderly. "You only have a couple of minutes, okay?" she tells Helen, who nods back to her. "Mom, how are you? You look good," Helen tells Barbara as she sits next to her on the small sofa. "I hope you like it here. I hope you're getting better." Barbara's eyes looks to Helen, which causes her to gasp out as before coming to the hospital, Barbara was pretty stoic. "You can hear me?" Barbara nods back to her. "Oh Mom, you have no idea how happy this makes me. You have no idea how much I've been praying for you. Can you tell me how you like here?" Barbara looks back at her and slowly nods to her. "Eyyyyyy I," she mumbles. "hhhhaate heerrrreeee." Helen grabs her Mom and pulls her into a hug as a tear falls down her cheek. "You won't be here long," she whispers to Babrara. "I promise you. You won't be in here very long." Twin Peaks General Hospital Paige slowly opens the door to Andrew's hospital room and moves inside. She was going to leave with Jeff and Leah, but she told them that she wanted to see Andrew before they left, so she is there with her ex-boyfriend. She looks at him for a moment and can't help but get a tear in her eye, thinking about how close they came to losing him. She doesn't know what she would have done had Andrew drown in the pool at the Gen Next House. She sits next to his bed as he opens his eyes and looks at her. He no longer has his oxygen mask on, so he smiles at the sight of her. "Hey you," he manages to say. "Hi," she purses her lips together. "How are feeling?" "Like I almost drown in a pool," he winks back to her. "That's not funny," she manages to say despite grinning to him. "Seriously, are you okay? I was so worried when I woke up and found out that you fell into the pool." "I'll be fine," Andrew tells her. "Thank God Cheresa was there." "I know," Paige replies to him. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you." "Don't apologize Paige," he says back to her. "You didn't do anything wrong. It was a freak accident." "I just can't stop thinking about what could have happened," she tells him as tears fill her eyes. "I could have lost you." "But you didn't, I'm right here." A single tear falls down her cheek as she grabs her hand. "This entire thing has made me realize how much I care about you, still, Andrew. I don't want us to fight anymore. I want us to be together, like we were." Andrew squeezes her hand back as they lock eyes. "Do you mean that? Because, Paige, I never stopped caring about you either. You're the best thing that's happened to me. If you can find in your heart to forgive me, I'll gladly be your boyfriend again." She hugs him as more tears fall from her eyes. "I'd like nothing more." At the doorway, Abby shuts the door quietly, having overheard the two of them get back together. She fumes inside, knowing that she was hoping that she would have a chance with Andrew. Now, Paige has gotten him back. "This won't last," Abby whispers to herself. "It can't. It won't." *** "I know you said you were fine, but I'd still like you to get checked out by a doctor," Adam tells Max as they sit in the cafeteria of the hospital across from one another. Adam, despite telling Max he wasn't his son anymore once the truth about Max's role in Adam's accident a year ago came out, is glad that his son is okay following the events that ended the Gen Next House. He doesn't know what he would have done had Max been in Andrew's place in that pool. "I'm fine Dad," Max replies to him. "And, before you ask, I just got off the phone with Mom. She is glad I'm okay too." "Good, because it'll save me a call to New York to tell Cassie myself," Adam says back to him. "How is she doing?" "She seems fine," Max tells him. "Like I said, she is glad I'm okay too. Which I am, I don't need to see a doctor." "I'm not leaving you until I know you're fine." "I'm surprised you're so concerned." "I deserve that," Adam nods back to him. "At the end of the day, you are my son. I guess this has made me realize that." "I know what I did was wrong, and I can't say I'm sorry enough, but I'd like to move on, if you think you can?" Max replies to him. "I guess that depends on how you're going to take my news," Adam says back to him as Max arches his eyebrow. "Robin and I, we are back together and I'm going to ask her to marry me. How do you feel about that?" Max smiles back to his Dad. "I think that's great news," Max informs him. "The summer away, it helped me move on from all of that. I want nothing but the best for you and Robin." "Good," Adam smiles back to him. "Then, I think this is the start of us moving on and rebuilding our relationship." *** In the parking garage of the hospital, Brooke sits in her Mercedes with her hands on the wheel and tears running down her cheeks. She has no idea what she has to do in her marriage to get Greg to forgive her, but she is running out of patience with him. She shakes her head realizing that this behavior is exactly why she ended up in bed with Robbie; he appreciates her for who she is and she doesn't have to explain herself anymore. She jumps in her seat when she hears a tap on the window of the passenger side door. She looks over and sees Robbie standing outside of the car. She reaches over to open the door and he slides in next to her. "I could ask you why you're sitting in your car alone crying but I think I will just ask you if you're okay," he tells her as he looks at her. "I'll be fine," she replies to him as she wipes her eyes dry. "They are happy tears anyways, Bradley has his son." "Congratulations," Robbie uneasily smiles back to her. "But, they don't look like happy tears. I'm here for you, if you need me." She turns to him and looks at him. Instantly, she is reminded of their love making session a few days earlier. She leans into him and kisses him passionately and he responds. "I need you," she says as their lips part. "Make love to me, in the back seat Robbie. Don't make me wait." He kisses her again before he starts to unbutton his shirt. "I'll give you everything you need Brooke," he whispers back to her before he kisses her again. "And so much more." *** "Do you really like the name?" Meggan asks Brad as he puts the sleeping child into a small basinet that is next to Meggan's bed. Brad looks back at her and nods. "I think it's perfect," he tells her. "Logan Spencer Lawson." "No," Meggan corrects him. "I know we are telling everyone you're the father but he has to have my name because he's not really yours," she tells him. "Logan Spencer Richardson." "I know that's what you want, but my parents " "I don't care," she firmly tells him. "He's my son, don't you forget that." "Okay, okay," Brad puts his hands up in the air. "I am his father but I can appreciate that he will have your last name." "Thank you," Meggan smiles back to him. "My beautiful little Logan. Nothing bad will ever happen to you, I promise." *** "I'll drive back home too and meet you there?" Jeff asks Leah as they kiss before she nods back to him. "See you there." Leah watches Jeff move to his vehicle before she turns and moves back to her SUV. She can't get out Meggan's mumblings out of her head; she has to find out if her theory is right: Could Jeff really be the father of Meggan's baby? "I have to know," she whispers to herself as she arrives at her SUV. She peers through the back window and suddenly realizes that she has a way to figure out the truth. "That towel, I used it to help Meggan give birth. It would have DNA on it." She arches her eyebrow realizing that she just has to get a piece of DNA from Jeff and she could learn the entire truth. "I have to do this," she says to herself, feeling her heart rate increase. "I have to know the truth." Next
