on One Day at a Time The Lawson Estate "Mom, Dad, are you guys home?" Brad calls out as he opens the front door to the Lawson mansion and moves into the foyer. He throws his winter coat on the bench and moves into the living room. Normally, he would be freezing from the cold winter air in Twin Peaks, but he hasn't been able to slow down since he and Meggan realized that Cheresa is Chris and Trenyce's daughter; of course, he knows that their child was sold on the blackmarket, so how Brooke and Greg got Cheresa is the next thing he has to find out. He has to know if his parents could be in trouble if the truth ever came out as buying a child from the blackmarket is illegal. And, he realizes that he has to find this out soon because Meggan wants to tell Chris and Trenyce the truth about Cheresa. "We are," Greg turns to face his son before Brooke stands up from the sofa. "We got your text, you made it seem like the world was about to end." Brad uneasily looks back at them. "Depending on our conversation, it very well may." Brooke arches her eyebrow and looks back at her son. "You have our attention," Brooke replies to him. "What's going on, Brad? What is so urgent that you think the world may end?" "I know the truth," Brad tells his parents. "I know that you got Cheresa from the blackmarket and I need to know all the details about that." St. Joseph's Church "I don't know if I have actually thanked you for your comments at Helen's memorial service," Robin tells her brother as they sit in the back pew of the church together, catching up. Robin knows that Adam and Dawn really appreciated Nicholas' kind words that he said about Helen during the service a few weeks earlier. "It was my pleasure," Nicholas nods back to her. "I didn't know her very well, but I could tell that her passing was a rather large loss for the community. I can't imagine what the family is going through now that we know Barbara has also passed away. Dawn has certainly been through a lot." "She really has," Robin agrees with him. "I'm trying to be there for her and Adam, but she doesn't really let me in that much." "You can only offer your support," Nicholas tells his sister. "She can feel you being there even if she doesn't show it that often." "I hope you're right," Robin says back to him. "Anyways, how are you? Things are good?" Nicholas nervously smiles back to her as he recalls sharing another kiss with Andy recently. The last time he saw Andy, however, he told him that they couldn't do that anymore because of Nicholas' position in the church. He can't risk his reputation or career because of a lingering attraction to Andy. "Yea, things are okay. Keeping busy with the church; there's always something to do." "I bet," Robin tells him. "For what it's worth, I'm really proud of you for keeping this place going. It is a beloved landmark in Twin Peaks. A lot of wonderful, and unexpected, moments have happened here." Nicholas chuckles back to her. "I've heard some of the stories!" Before Robin can reply, Nicholas' phone rings. "Ah, excuse me for a moment," he stands up and answers the call. While he's doing that, Robin quickly checks her phone and sees a new message from Adam asking her to meet him. "Sorry about that," Nicholas returns to the pew. "I just got some great news." Robin stands up to face her brother. "What is it?" "The church has been given a grant from the city," Nicholas reveals to her. "Looks like we will be able to some of the renovations after all!" "That is great news," Robin hugs her brother. "See, I told you that you are doing great things here. I'm so proud of you, Nicholas." "Thanks Robin." Twin Peaks General Hospital "Wait, so what you're telling me that I don't have HIV after all?" a dumbfounded Craig asks Shane, who just informed him that he was misdiagnosed. All these months of hell that Craig has been putting him through because he slept with Chip in Las Vegas has all been for nothing? Craig can't help but feel his blood boil at this revelation. "It appears that way," Shane nods back to him. "Now, keep in mind we don't have all of the information. There could have been a mix up at the lab, we are still looking into what happened exactly. The good news, Craig, is that you're healthy." "Only, I almost died because of all the drugs in my system! Drugs that I didn't need!" Craig tries to keep his voice down, but he is livid at what he was just told. "I want Victoria's medical license revoked! This is insane." "I can appreciate that," Shane tells him. "But let's try to uncover what actually happened first." "What do you mean? What's happened?" Donovan asks as he walks into the hospital room, having overheard the tail end of the conversation. "I have some rounds to make, I'll let you fill Donovan in?" Shane looks over at Craig. "Thanks for everything Shane," Craig replies to him. "And, when you find out more information, please let me know." "Of course," Shane says before he leaves the room. "What's up?" Donovan looks over at his friend. "Your sister," Craig grits his teeth together. "She misdiagnosed me. I don't have HIV at all! All this time, I've been getting treated for a disease I don't even have!" "There must be some kind of mistake," Donovan tells him, knowing that Shane has been telling him and Eva for weeks now that he thinks Victoria purposely did this to Craig. Donovan still believes that his sister is innocent; there's no way in his mind that Victoria did this to hurt Craig, or anyone. It's just not in her nature. "Maybe the lab got the results wrong?" "That's what Shane said," Craig replies to him. "But if your sister did do this, she will pay for it. There's no way she's going to get away with almost killing me." *** "I hope Kim is coping okay," Trenyce tells Andy as they slowly walk through the halls of the hospital. Trenyce decided to stop by to see how Andy was doing, since she knows that he has been at the hospital, almost night day, to support Kim while Bob is in the hospital dealing with the aftermath of the car accident. "It must be bringing up a lot of memories from when Blake was in the hospital." "She's trying to be strong," Andy tells his friend. "But, she is struggling. I think the fact that the police want to question Bob about the fire at boutique are adding to her tension." "I've been close to Tyler so I know his side of things," Trenyce admits to him. "He just wants his Mom to be cleared of any wrong doing, which I can appreciate." "So can I," Andy admits to her. "No one should be wrongly accused of anything. I just hope this entire thing gets better sooner rather than later. We've all been through enough lately." "Isn't that the truth." "How about you? Any luck on finding your child?" Trenyce sighs back to him. She recalls how Meggan told her and Chris that she was going to look around some adoption agencies within the Twin Peaks area to see if anyone had any records of a child from all those years ago. She knows that it is a long shot, but she and Chris want to explore every possible avenue that they can before, potentially, calling off the search. "We are still looking," Trenyce tells him. "We want to do everything we can think of before we end the search. I have to admit though, it is frustrating. It's like finding a needle in a haystack." "If I can do anything at all, you know I will," Andy stops and looks at her. "I know," Trenyce smiles back to him. "I'm so glad that you're my best friend. I don't know what I would do without you." Andy pulls her into a hug. "You'll never have to find out Trey." *** "It couldn't have been easy seeing Bob that way," Leah tells her daughter as they sit across from one another in the cafeteria of the hospital. Leah wanted to be at the hospital with Paige after she saw Bob; for someone her age, it couldn't have been easy seeing another human being in that state. "I'm glad I came today," Paige admits to her. "I know he's not really my Grandfather, but I still thought of him that way for so many years. You can't shut those feelings off easily." "He loves you as if you were his Granddaughter," Leah tells her. "I'm sure he loved seeing you." "I just hope he wakes up," Paige replies to her. "I feel like we've all been through so much lately. Bob dying wouldn't be fair." Leah reaches over and grabs her hand. "That's why you have to enjoy life while you can. You never know when your time will come." "I'm trying to do just that." Leah smiles back to her daughter. "So, is there a special guy in your life right now?" "Mom?!" "What? You can talk to me about these kinds of things. I want you to know that I support you; you're at the age where young love is bound to happen eventually." "There is a guy," Paige admits to her, knowing that she's not going to tell her Mom that she and Andrew have made love; there's some things she still wants to keep to herself. "But, we are taking it slow. I'm not trying to rush anything." "That's good," Leah tells her. "I want you to have fun and explore, but just be careful. I don't want you to get hurt." "I won't," Paige winks back to her. "I'm being careful." The Sugarbowl "Man, it's freezing out there," Max tells Abby as he scoots into the back booth of the coffeehouse to face her. "I can't wait for winter to be over." Abby chuckles back to him. "Yea, me either." "Have you thought of any way to break up Paige and Andrew?" Max asks her, recalling that the last time they saw one another Max agreed to help her break up the couple. He is eager to start their plan so they can be with the people they want to be with. "I have," Abby takes a sip of her hot chocolate. "I think I should seduce Andrew." Max arches his eyebrow. "You think he'll fall for that?" "He's a man, isn't he?" Abby replies to him. "What man wouldn't say yes to a girl presenting herself to him?" Max shrugs his shoulders back to her. "I guess you have a point." "I think it would be easier than you trying to seduce Paige," she tells him. "She's such a goodie goodie, I doubt she'd cave in." "I agree with you there," Max agrees with her. "Okay, so you seduce Andrew and then what? You're going to film it or something?" "That or we have to ensure Paige sees us together," Abby tells him. "Either way, once she sees us together, they will be over for good. And you can I can be with Andrew and Paige." "I'll drink to that," Max winks back to her. The Black House "I was with Nicholas when I got your message," Robin moves into the living room of the Black house while Adam follows her. She knows that he has been staying in the house that he lived in for years with Helen to ensure Dawn isn't alone right now. She can understand why he is there but she does hope that he will leave the house soon. The house is filled with so many memories of Helen and Adam's time being married to her, it can't be easy for him to be there. "I hope I wasn't interrupting anything," Adam replies to her. "Not at all," Robin tells him. "It is always nice to hear from you. How are you?" Adam shrugs his shoulders. "I'm doing okay," he says back to her. "Dawn is still really struggling with the loss her mother, grandmother and child within the last year. I don't know how much more she can handle." "It's good that you're here for her," Robin says. "She needs her father right now." "She does," he agrees with her. "But you know what I need?" he asks her as she shrugs her shoulders. "You. I want to be with you, Robin." "I think we should get married," she reveals to him, slightly catching him off guard. "What better way to give some happiness back to Dawn and your friends and family then a wedding. What do you say, Adam?" "I think that it is a great idea," Adam looks back at her before he leans in and kisses her. "We've waited so long to get married." "Then, let's not wait any longer," Robin smiles back to him. Behind them, Dawn stands on the staircase in the foyer, having overheard the tail end of their conversation. She feels her heart sink at the thought of Adam marrying Robin so soon after Helen and Barbara's deaths. She slowly moves back up the stairs, not seen or heard by Adam or Robin. At the top of the stairs, Dawn moves into the washroom and closes the door. A single tear falls down her cheek as she opens the medicine cabinet and finds her anti-depressant pills. She opens the bottle and puts two in her hand before she swallows them down. Chris' Townhouse "I didn't hear back from Meggan yet," Trenyce tells Chris as he pours two glasses of wine and she rests on the sofa in his living room. After leaving the hospital, Trenyce came over to see Chris to see if he has heard anything further from Meggan on the search for their child. "Nor have I," Chris admits to her as he brings her the glass of wine. "I'm guessing she doesn't want to waste our time until she's heard back from the adoption agencies." "Yea, that's a possibility," Trenyce accepts the wine from him. "I guess the waiting is the difficult part." "Yea, it is," Chris agrees with her. "But, I'm still happy we are doing this. I think we will feel better at the end of the day knowing that we have done everything we could to try to find out child." "I couldn't agree more," Trenyce tells him. "I'm sorry I was thinking we should stop looking for the child." "Don't apologize," Chris says back to her. "I know this isn't an easy search. There will be a lot of ups and downs." "But we have to try." Chris looks back at her and smiles. "You know, we could do something to help pass the time." "Oh yea?" Trenyce purrs back to him. "And what did you have in mind?" Chris leans over and kisses her passionately. "How about that?" "I think that's a very good start," she whispers back to him before she leans over and kisses him back. The Sugarbowl Meggan opens the door to the coffeehouse and scurries inside from the cold winter air. She needs to get a coffee as she is going to have another late night at MW Investigations. As she waits in the lineup, she looks at her phone and sees another message from Trenyce asking for an update. She sighs heavily knowing that she has, by accident, found Trenyce's long lost child in Cheresa, but she has agreed to give Brad some time to discuss with Brooke and Greg before she reveals the truth. She only hopes that giving him the time was the best solution as she doesn't know how long she will be able to go with avoiding Chris and Trenyce. "You better be talking to your parents," Meggan whispers to herself. "I don't know how long I can keep this secret. Chris and Trenyce, they have a right to know the truth." The Lawson Estate "What are you talking about?" Brooke shrieks back at Brad, floored that he has suggested that they got Cheresa from the blackmarket. A part of her can't believe that the secret is coming out now after all these years. "We adopted Cheresa, you know that!" Brad looks over at Greg, who walks over and pours himself a whiskey, also startled that Brad has seemingly uncovered the truth. "Look, I can't get into the specifics about how I found this out but I know that there is more to Cheresa's adoption than what meets the eye. I'm here because I want to give you the chance to have a discussion with me. I need to know the truth!" "The truth is, we adopted Cheresa when she was a baby! You were in this very house when we came home with her!" Brooke reminds him. "How can you not remember that?" "I do remember that!" Brad yells back at her. "That's why this is so difficult to wrap my head around! I don't think you understand though, I know the truth. It's time that you start talking." "Fine," Greg's booming voice replies to him. "We will tell you the truth, but on one condition." "What's that?" "That is never leaves this room," Greg tells him. "If we tell you what happened, you are sworn to secrecy for the sake of this family. Is that understood?" Brad looks back at his parents not sure of what to say. He has to get to the truth, but he also knows that Meggan will be expecting some kind of answer from him. "Answer me Bradley," Greg demands from his son. "If we tell you the entire story, do we have your word that you won't say anything to anyone ever again?" Brad slowly nods back to him. "You have my word," he tells his father. "Now, start talking."
