Episode
Theme song: "Seventeen" Troye Sivan Previously
on One Day at a Time - Nicholas received a grant from the city to restore
St. Joseph's. He planned a gala and invited the Arch Bishop to celebrate. Nicholas
and Andy, meanwhile, struggled with their attraction - Cassie and Jacob continued
to grow closer despite his family's objections to their relationship - Felicia
asked Leah if she was hiding something. Jeff overheard - Vinny saw a close
moment between Daisy and Tyler - Brooke told Cory that no one could ever know
about her affair with Robbie St. Joseph's Church Nicholas
peers out into the church from the altar and is pleased with how many citizens
of Twin Peaks have arrived to his gala to celebrate the fact that the restorations
on the church have finally been completed. He has worked so hard on getting the
church back to its former glory; tonight is a way to celebrate that and all the
energy that went into the restoration. And, with the Arch Bishop coming to the
gala, he hopes that everything goes off accordingly to plan as he would love to
impress the man, who has a higher position of power within the church.
As he looks out and sees so many familiar faces, he can't help but think of Andy
and how his article in the Sun obviously attracted a lot of people to the gala.
He pauses for a brief moment as he thinks about how many times he and Andy have
shared kisses; while he knows he is attracted to the reporter, he can't act on
it as he is with the church and that is his top priority. After their last kiss,
however, Andy did tell Nicholas he wouldn't cross that line again. Nicholas just
hopes that it is the case. Nicholas takes a deep breath and puts a smile
on his face as he prepares to leave the alter and start engaging with the people
who have arrived to celebrate the church's restoration. ***
Andy opens the door to the church and is quickly aghast by the turn out for
the gala. He had hoped his article in the Sun would attract a lot of attendees,
but this is far above what he expected. He knows that Nicholas must be excited
by this and that makes Andy smile. "Hey guys," he says as he
walks up to Donovan and Lukas, who are in the foyer with a glasses of wine in
their hands. "This is a great turn out!" "It really is,"
Donovan replies to him. "And, the church looks amazing. Nicholas has done
a great job." "He really has," Andy smiles, unable to
hide his pride for the priest as he knows how much work and energy Nicholas has
put into this project. "Nicholas has been a great asset to this place."
Lukas looks back at Andy as he recalls Andy telling him months ago that he
was attracted to someone. He then shoots Donovan a quick look as he thinks he
realizes who is he attracted too now. "What's that look for?"
Andy asks noticing that Lukas has a sly grin on his face. "Nothing,"
Lukas waves his hand. "No, come on, what's up?" "I
think I figured out who you are crushing on, that's all," Lukas replies to
him quickly. Andy feels the blood drain from his face. "It's cool,"
Lukas tells him. "You like Nicholas. I don't blame you, he's a good looking
guy." "Nothing will ever happen between Nicholas and I,"
Andy firmly tells him. "He's with the church. That's his future."
*** "Thank you for taking the time to talk to me,"
Melissa Young tells Robin as they walk through the church together, with Melissa's
husband Phil in tow. Melissa is in town to support her son, Nicholas, and the
churches restoration, but she knows that with her sorted history with Robin, she
wasn't sure if her daughter would speak to her. "Tonight is about
Nicholas, nothing more and nothing less," Robin tells her mother. "You
and I have had our differences, but tonight isn't about that." "I'm
so glad you feel that way," Melissa tells her. "Because you're right,
tonight is about Nicholas and I just know that everything will okay accordingly
to plan." "I hope you're right," Phil tells his wife.
"Because our son deserves this; Nicholas deserves to have the night of his
life." *** "We were literally just here a couple
of weeks ago but this place looks so different," Cassie tells Jacob as they
walk hand in hand through the church and are admiring the various details. Cassie
knows that they were just at the church for Bob's funeral, but the transformation
is pretty amazing. "Yea, I agree with you. It looks really nice,"
Jacob tells her. "Hey, are you okay? I know the last time we were
here
" "I'm fine," he stops her. "I am really
trying to get over Bob's passing, it just takes time." "I know,
but I can tell that you're still hurting baby. I hate seeing you this way."
"Thanks," Jacob uneasily says back to her as he pulls her into
a hug. "I have an idea." "What's that?" she purses
her lips together as they exit their embrace. "Our wedding,"
he looks into her eyes. "Let's have it here. Let's get married in this beautiful
church." "I think that's a wonderful idea," she smiles
back to him. "I can't wait to marry you Jacob." ***
"So, Victoria agreed to go and get help?" Dominick asks his wife
as they slowly walk through the church looking at the restoration. Eva
looks back at him and pauses for a moment. "Yes, she did," she tells
him. "Which is how we proved that it is Victoria in control. If her alter
was still in control, she would have objected." "I'm glad that
this nightmare is finally coming to a close," Dominick replies to her. "I
just hope Victoria gets the help she needs." "Shane and I are
going to do everything in our power to ensure that happens. How are things at
Roberson? You're new line is still in progress?" "Yes,"
Dominick smiles back to her thinking about the ski/winter line that he and his
team are creating. "I believe it will be a huge hit when we finally launch
it." "I'm so proud of you," Eva smiles to him as she squeezes
his hand. "It will be nice to get back to normal for a while."
"I hope we can." Eva arches her eyebrow. "Why would you
say that? Do you think something else is going on?" Dominick arches
his eyebrow for a moment. "I'm worried about Felicia," he admits to
her. "I don't know how well she is actually handling Bob's passing."
Eva shuts her eyes for a quick moment as she thinks about walking in on Dominick
and Felicia hugging recently. While she and Dominick have been married for a couple
of years now, she knows that he will always hold a special place in his heart
for Felicia since they were married for so long and share children together.
"Well, we should make sure she is okay," Eva finally tells him.
"We are in this together. If she's struggling, we are all struggling."
"That's why I love you," Dominick looks at her. "You're so
caring." He pulls her into a hug and Eva sighs a little. "I
just want everything to be okay again Dominick. That's all I want. We have all
been through more than enough." The Calimo Mansion
Felicia slowly walks through the rose garden on the Calimo estate as she heads
towards the monument the family made for Bob. She turns around to ensure no one
from the mansion can see her and then she arrives and looks at Bob and Sofia's
resting places. She bends down to run her hand over Bob's name on the
large monument before she covers her mouth as tears fill her eyes. "My
beautiful granddaughter is livid with me," she whispers to the marble plaque.
"Because, she thinks that I should be respecting you since you are dead.
I hate that she is upset with me but there is no way in hell that I can respect
you, Bob." "You are a son of a bitch," she sneers back.
"You started that fire that almost killed me and then brainwashed me into
believing I started the fire. I had to stay in that damn hospital for a year!
I watched my only true friend in that place die because of YOU! No, respect is
the last thing I feel for you." She stands up and looks back at
the monument. Then, she spits on it. "That's how I feel for you," she
whispers before she turns around and scurries away. St. Joseph's Church
"Nicholas has really outdone himself with this restoration," Daisy
tells Tyler as they look around the newly renovated church. "I agree,
it looks great," Tyler tells his lover. "You know, when I was
mayor I worked so hard to get a grant approved for this place; it's nice that
it has finally happened." "It's also nice that we are finally
together in every way possible," he winks at her. Daisy smiles back
to him. "I couldn't agree more," she leans in and gives him a quick
kiss on the lips. "I just hope that Vinny isn't plotting anything."
"Why would you say that now?" Tyler asks her. "I thought he
had agreed to drop any idea of revenge?" Daisy shrugs her shoulders.
"That's what he said," she nods back to him. "I just can't help
but get the feeling that there's more to this story." "Let's
try not to think of that," he replies to her. "Let's enjoy this gala
together and leave any idea of revenge behind us." "I can get
behind that," she chuckles back to him. *** "It's
nice to get out of the house for a little while," Jeff tells his wife as
they sit side by side in a pew in the church. Jeff knows that lately they've both
been very busy at Robertson Enterprises working on the new line that they haven't
had much time to do anything else, especially together. Jeff, also, can't stop
thinking about overhearing a conversation between Leah and Felicia recently where
Felicia asked her daughter if she was hiding anything; Leah said no, but Jeff
wonders if there is something that Leah is keeping to herself. "It
really is," Leah replies to him. "You and I, we are long overdue for
a proper date night soon." "I'd love that," Jeff tells
her as he looks at her. "While we are alone together, there is something
that I've been meaning to talk to you about." "I'm all ears,
what's going on?" "I was at Robertson the other day,"
Jeff begins to tell her. "It was around lunch time and I was coming to your
office to see if you wanted to eat together but you had a visitor."
Leah arches her eyebrow. "I don't remember this? Who was with me?"
"Your Mom," Jeff replies to her quickly. "I didn't mean to
eavesdrop but I couldn't help but overhear some of the conversation."
Leah feels the blood drain from her face realizing that Felicia was asking
her if she was keeping a secret; she lied to her Mother, but of course she is
hiding the fact that Logan is really Jeff's son, not Brad's. "She
was asking you if you were keeping something from her," Jeff continues to
tell her. "You said no, but the more I've thought about it, you have been
acting a little odd lately. Is there something that is troubling you? You know
you can talk to me, right?" "Yes of course," Leah turns
and looks at him. "If anything, I've been worried about Paige and how she
is handling Bob's death. That's all. I told my mom the same thing. I'm sorry if
I worried you at all." "It's okay," Jeff smiles back to
her. "I just wanted to be sure. I love you Leah, I don't want you to keep
anything from me." Leah pulls him into a hug and takes a deep breath.
"I'm not hiding anything," she lies to him. "You know everything."
*** Robbie slowly walks through the garden of the church
trying to clear his head. He knows that he should be inside, but he wanted to
get some air as everything in his life is seemingly falling apart right now. He
and Natasha have decided to try to contest Bob's will in hopes of preventing Kim
from walking away with so much of Bob's assets, in particular the mansion. He
also knows that he and Brooke made love again recently, and if anyone found out,
more hell would break loose. Still, he can't help but have very strong feelings
for her. He just hopes that she feels the same way, which he suspects she does.
"There you are," a voice calls out from behind him. Robbie stops
and turns around and sees Brooke standing in front of him. "I was hoping
you'd be here tonight." "Yea, I wouldn't miss this," Robbie
replies to her. "Are you here with
" "Greg?"
She asks him as he nods back. "Yea, he's inside. I told him I forgot something
in the car. I only have a couple of minutes." "I'm glad you're
here," he moves closer to her. She puts her hand to stop him from
touching her. She realizing that with Cory knowing about their affair she has
to put an end to it; no one else can know what they've done as too many lives
would be ruined by their affair. "We have to stop this," she
whispers to him as her lower lip quivers. "We can't go down this road again,
Robbie." "I know," he admits to her. "We've been
trying but the other night
" "Was a mistake," Brooke
sternly tells him. "Whatever happened that night can never happen again,
do you understand me? What we had, it is over." ***
"I'm so glad you two are here tonight," Nicholas tells Melissa and Phil
after he greets his parents with a hug. "What do you think of the place?"
"It's amazing," Melissa smiles back to her son. "You've
outdone yourself son," Phil pats him on the back. "We are both so proud
of you." "Thank you," Nicholas replies to them. "Arch
Bishop Murray is here already; he's getting his tour. I can't wait to see what
he thinks of the restoration." "You won't have to wait,"
Melissa nods in the direction of the Bishop, who is approaching them.
Nicholas takes a deep breath as Arch Bishop Murray arrives. He's an older man
with white hair and is wearing traditional clothing. Nicholas knows that Bishop
Murray is one of the most conservative men in the church, so he hopes that he
likes the restoration. "Arch Bishop Murray," Nicholas greets
him with a handshake. "Thank you so much for coming. I can't tell you how
honored I am to have you here." "Yes, so I've heard,"
the elderly man replies. "It has been many, many years since I've been to
St. Joseph's." "What do you think of the restoration? Does
it remind you of the former times you visited?" "Somewhat,"
Bishop Murray sneers back to him. "Some of the details are
not as
accurate as I'd had hoped." Nicholas sighs a little back to him.
"Does that mean you don't like it?" "It's fine for your
first time going through a restoration," he tells him. "However, you
clearly have a lot to learn Father Young." Next on One Day at
a Time - Melissa sense something is off with Andy and Nicholas - Vinny
leaves town - Max and Paige share another close moment | |
