Previously on One Day at a Time
- Thinking that Cheresa was near death, Meggan revealed to Chris and Trenyce that Cheresa is their biological daughter. Brad, meanwhile, warned his parents that the truth was about to come out
- Jeff demanded that Leah tell him the secret she has been keeping from him. Leah tearfully told him that she fears their marriage would be over if she did
- Abby warned Albertinah to stay away from Andrew or she would reveal to the school board of her affair with Andrew
- Max and Paige confessed their love for one another
- Daisy confronted Vinny about Brett's disappearance. He told her to mind her own business

Twin Peaks General Hospital

"I, uh, don't think I heard you correctly," Chris looks back at Meggan in shock as he puts his hands on Trenyec's shoulders. "Did you just say that Cheresa Lawson is our biological daughter?"

Chris then looks over at Trenyce, who is equally shocked by Meggan's revelation. They can't believe that after all these years of searching for their child, Meggan just told them that she is right here in Twin Peaks, and has been for so long. Both of them have had multiple encounters with Cheresa and were none the wiser. If this is true, then they know their daughter already. Only, they both realize, that she is on death's bed having been found in the river face down.

"How is this possible?" Trenyce asks as she gasps for air. She feels like this is all suddenly coming too much for her to handle. "I think I need to sit down. I feel faint."

"Come over here," Chris guides her to a seat as Trenyce sits down. "Take some deep breaths."

"We need answers," Trenyce looks up at Meggan. "How did you find this out?"

"It was by accident, actually," Meggan replies to her. "Do you remember when I got your DNA sample?" she asks as they nod back to her. "At the same time, Brad was with Cheresa and she had a cold. One of her tissues accidently fell into his bag. We ran tests, not realizing what we were doing, but the samples came back a perfect match."

"I can't believe this," Chris tells her. "But wait, how did Brooke and Greg get Cheresa? I thought you couldn't uncover anything but Cheresa's adoption?"

"I couldn't," Meggan tells him. "From what I understand, and I don't have all the details, Brooke was desperate to have another child and learned that she wouldn't be able to have another child biologically. Apparently, she and Greg went on the adoption wait list and after they didn't succeed, she bought a baby from the black market. Which makes sense because Dave would have sold your child on the black market."

"She bought a baby from the black market? Who the hell does that?" Trenyce shrieks. "Actually, that doesn't matter. What matters now is that we know the truth. And, I want to see my child. I need to see my daughter," Trenyce tells Chris as their eyes lock. "Let's go to our baby girl."

"What are you talking about? How is any of this happening right now?" Brooke demands more answers from Brad, who just revealed to her and Greg that the truth about Cheresa's adoption is coming out as they are speaking. Brooke just can't believe that while her family is already desperate for Cheresa to pull through her injuries, they now have to deal with the fact that Brooke purchased her from the black market all those years ago.

"That's what I'd like to know," Greg moves up to his son. "I thought you gave us your word that you wouldn't say anything to anyone about Cheresa?"

"Listen, I told Meggan only because she was with me when we discovered who her biological parents are," Brad tries to cover with them. "I've been blackmailing her into silence for months, but with Cheresa on her death bed, she wants the parents to know the truth before it's too late."

"Blackmailing Meggan? With what information?" Brooke asks her son next. The story just seemingly gets worse the more her son speaks.

"I'm not Logan's father," Brad lays another bombshell on his parents. "I agreed to help her to keep the father in the dark and raise that child as my own."

"My God, what has happened to this family?" Brooke shrieks back to him. "We are all covered in lies and deceit!"

"Well, I for one will not let these people hurt Cheresa!" Greg grits his teeth together. "She is our daughter and nothing will ever change that. I will fight these two until my death if I have too!"

"Who are they?" Brooke looks back at Brad. "Who are Cheresa's biological parents?"

Brad gulps back to them. "Chris Michaels and Trenyce Davenport. Meggan, I'm sure, is telling them right now."

"They won't get to my daughter," Greg shakes his head back to them. "No way, no how."

The Claus House; Jeff, Leah & Felicia's Home

"Why would you say that?" a dumbfound Jeff asks Leah, who just told him that if she reveals the secret she's been keeping, she's scared that she will lose him and he will hate her. Jeff can't imagine what kind of secret Leah is keeping that would make him hate her; in his mind, this is impossible. He has loved Leah for so long, nothing could ever change his mind about that. "Why would you say that I would hate you if I knew the truth about this secret?"

Another tear falls down Leah's cheek as she tries to composure herself. She knows that once Jeff knows the truth that Logan is really his son, her entire world will change forever. "It's just…I've known something for a while now and I haven't told you because I haven't wanted to lose you. You have to understand that, I haven't said anything because I love you so much."

"Tell me what?" Jeff presses her again. "Leah, you're starting to scare me."

Leah waves her hand in the air. "Do you remember last fall when I helped Meggan deliver her baby?" she asks him as Jeff nods back to her. "Well, she was out of it and she kept calling out for you."

"Why would she call out for me and not Brad?"

"That's what I asked myself," Leah admits to him as she wipes her tears from her eyes. "And then I remembered the timing of her pregnancy; you had admitted your affair with her…so I ran a paternity test."

"You did what?" Jeff gasps back to her. "Why would you do that?"

"Because, I had to know the truth!"

"The truth is that Brad is Logan's father," a panicked Jeff quickly tells her as he thinks about how he confronted Meggan when he found out about her pregnancy. "Meggan told me that over and over again!"

"I'm so sorry Jeff," Leah whispers as more tears flood her eyes. "But the test results proved that you are Logan's father. You have a son."

The Pier

"I was surprised to get your call," Andrew stands up from a bench on the pier when he sees Albertinah approaching him quickly. He puts his hands in his coat pockets as the weather has turned rather chilly in Twin Peaks. As he looks at his teacher, he can't help but notice how beautiful she is; he knows that he she told him that they can't have sex again but he'd love nothing more than to be with her again.

"I'm sure you were," Albertinah looks back at him in cool air. "I had a visit from your friend earlier today."

"Who are you talking about?"

"Abby," Albertinah glares at him. "How could you be so stupid and tell her, of all people, that we slept together?"

"I'm sorry," Andrew shrugs back to her. "Abby is my friend and I needed to tell someone. It was eating me alive. Mostly because I want you again."

"That will never happen, do you understand me?" she sternly tells him. "I told you we were over! I could lose my job, Andrew!"

"I know," Andrew replies to her quickly. "But the term is almost over…"

"I don't care!" she tells him. "I'm not going to put my career in jeopardy over this! You have to get this through your head, we are over! We were never anything to begin with!"

"Fine," Andrew snaps back at her. "I get it, okay? I really do."

"Good," Albertinah tells him back. "Have a good day. I don't want to be seen with you."

Albertinah quickly walks away and bites her lower lip as she does; she hated telling that to Andrew as she knows that she enjoyed their love making very much, but with Abby threatening to go to the school board against her, she knows that she can't take any chances. She just hopes that she got through to Andrew so it is easier on her going forward.

The Sugarbowl

"I was just about to head back to the hospital with these coffees for my family," Abby tells Max as they stand near the doorway of the coffeehouse. Abby was heading back to check on Cheresa when she ran into her friend and she wanted to stop and say hi to him. Mostly because after she confronted Albertinah and told her to stay away from Andrew or she would go to the school board with the fact that she knows about her affair, she hopes that it will push Andrew closer to her now.

"That's nice of you," Max nods back to her. "You'll have to keep me posted on Cheresa's status."

"Of course," Abby smiles back to him. "If it wasn't for you, she wouldn't even be here right now. My family owes you so much."

Max blushes a little. "I just did what anyone would have done," Max admits to her.

"On another note," Abby tells him, unaware Paige has opened the door to the coffeehouse and is standing behind her. "I think I can finally have my chance with Andrew. You know I've been upset that you've had Paige and I haven't had Andrew yet; but, I think with any luck that will change."

"Good luck," Max tells her, not seeing Paige. "It's time we both get what we want."

Paige arches her eyebrow wondering what her boyfriend and Abby are talking about, but she knows she has to figure it out as it sounds very cryptic.

Robertson Enterprises

"I think we almost ready to go for this launch," Dominick tells Tyler and Daisy as they all stand in his office and Dominick finishes looking over some of the final paper work to complete the upcoming reveal of the winter/ski line that Robertson has been creating. They are all going to head to Caldwell's Mountain Ski Resort very soon to hold the launch party; Dominick is really excited by what his team has come up with.

"Did Vinny happen to give you any final designs?" Daisy asks her boss as she recalls how she confronted her ex-husband about Brett's disappearance and he told her to mind her own business. Daisy can't place her finger on it but she can't help but think something else is going on with Vinny and Brett; she just has no idea what it could be.

"Yes, he did," Dominick nods back to her as he passes her the folder in front of them. "I don't know what his inspiration is, but Vinny's designs are damn good."

Daisy looks at the drawings then passes them to Tyler. "Yea, these are great. Vinny really turned out to be an asset on this line," Tyler replies to his father.

"Ugh," Daisy openly groans. "I know that the designs are good but something doesn't add up here. And I won't rest until I figure it out."

"Well don't ruin my launch," Dominick stands up from his desk. "Nothing can go wrong when we reveal our new line."

"I get it," Daisy nods back to him. "But I won't stop until I figure out what is going on with Vinny because something doesn't add up. I just wish I knew what it was."

The Claus House; Jeff, Leah & Felicia's Home

The blood drains from Jeff's face as Leah's words hit him like a ton of bricks. He is Logan's father; Leah ran a paternity test and confirmed it to be true. But, when he asked Meggan over and over again and she lied to him and told him Brad was the father. And, Meggan gave birth over a year ago, which means Leah has also been lying to him for over a year. Jeff feels like his world is spinning out of control and he has no idea how to stop it.

"I'm so sorry," Leah sobs back to him. "This secret, it's been killing me."

"I don't believe this," Jeff whispers back to her in shock. "You've lied to me for over a year about a child that I've had? You've purposely kept me from my child? How could you do that to me?"

"I didn't want to lose you," Leah replies to him. "Don't you understand? You slept with Meggan behind my back! You were late to your wedding because you were with her. If you knew that you were going to have a baby with her … I couldn't do it Jeff. I was so scared!"

"So you chose to lie? Who the fuck does that? Who keeps a man from his own son?" Jeff yells at her in frustration. "This is unbelievable! I've lost a full year with my son … and it's all your fault!"

Leah watches Jeff rush towards the front door. "Jeff, wait, please, where are you going?"

"To see my son," Jeff turns back around to face her. "You were right by the way."

"About what?" Leah shrugs her shoulders as another tear falls down her cheek.

"To worry about me hating you," Jeff lashes out at her. "Because I certainly do now. I really, really do."

Twin Peaks General Hospital

"Dad, just try to stay calm," Brad tells Greg as they continue to stand outside of Cheresa's hospital room. "We have no idea what Chris or Trenyce will do once they know the truth."

"We are about to find out," Brooke stands up again from her chair as she sees Chris and Trenyce rushing towards Cheresa's hospital room. "Here they come."

"We know the truth," Chris grits his teeth at the Lawson's. "We know that Cheresa is our daughter!"

"She is our daughter," Greg moves forward to Chris. "We have raised her since she was an infant. We are the only family that girl knows!"

"Because you bought her illegally!" Trenyce shrieks back to them. "My baby was stolen from me! I never had the chance to raise her! I need to see her, I need to see my daughter"!

She rushes to the door and walks in, as Greg and Brooke follow her desperate to stop her but it is too late. "This isn't the time or the place for this Trenyce," Brooke snaps at Trenyce as they stand in Cheresa's hospital room. "I want you to leave or I'll call security. Cheresa needs to rest!"

Chris comes in behind them as Trenyce moves up to Cheresa's body, tears filling her eyes. "My beautiful baby," Trenyce says as she looks at Cheresa before she turns around to face Brooke as a tear falls down her cheek. "You call security, you tell them how I am her mother and you bought her from the black market!"

"That's enough!" Chris yells at everyone. "This fighting in front of Cheresa won't do her any good!"

"You two should leave then!" Brooke shrieks at them. "Cheresa only knows us as her family, you two are making this worse!"

Suddenly, Cheresa's heart monitor flat lines! Trenyce turns in shock as she looks at Cheresa, whose heart has stopped beating. "No," Trenyce screams in horror. "No!"
