Peaks General Hospital
"You look nervous, are you okay?" Madeline asks Andy as he paces back and forth in the waiting room of the hospital as they are waiting for Clayton to come back from getting his DNA tested against Madeline's.
Andy almost can't believe that Madeline suspects that Olivia gave birth to triplets all those years ago and Frederick stole one of them, Clayton, to get back at Olivia for getting a job that he wanted. It seems so farfetched to Andy that Frederick would go to such extreme measures over a job, but he also knows that Frederick many horrible things when he was alive. He also doesn't know how he will react knowing if it is true; it would explain, however, why Clayton looks exactly like Reese.
"I am nervous," Andy admits back to her. "I don't know what I should be thinking. I don't know if I should be hopeful that Clayton is your brother, or I should be hoping that he isn't."
Madeline tries to chuckle back to him as she stands up and moves up to him. "Either way, we are about to get the answers that we want," she tells him quickly. "We have to know if Clayton is a Wilkins or not."
"I know," Andy sighs back to her. "Regardless of the outcome, I guess we will have more questions, huh?"
"We will get those answers Andy, I know we will."
Before Andy can reply, they hear Clayton move into the waiting room. They turn and see the man who looks just like Reese. "How did it go?" Andy asks him quickly.
"It was fine," Clayton nods back to him. "It was just a mouth swab and the nurse said it would only be a few minutes until we get the results."
"So, in a few minutes we will find out if you're my brother or not," Madeline looks back at Clayton. "We will see if we are family."
Robertson Enterprises; The Studio
Paige moves some files around the large work table in the studio of Robertson Enterprises. After her late morning with Max, where they made love a few times, she has come into the office to catch up on some outstanding work that she has. While she is looking at her files, however, she can't help but think about her time with Max and how nice it was. She didn't expect to fall back into his bed so soon, but she can't deny that he is a great lover and he treats her well; what else could she want in a guy? She asks herself with a grin on her face.
"I am pretty sure I know what you're thinking about," a voice calls out from the doorway of the studio. Paige looks up and sees Jacob moving into the room.
"Jacob, I didn't think you were going to come in today?"
"I wasn't going too," he admits to her as he moves closer to her. "But, I was at the Pampa Grill a little while ago and I heard something; something that was really disturbing."
Paige arches her eyebrow back to him. "Really? What did you hear?"
"I heard you and Max talking," Jacob reveals to her. "You two are lovers again? You dumped me and in record time you're back with him?"
"Not that I owe you an explanation," Paige huffs back to him. "But, yes. Max and I are together."
Jacob sighs back to him. "Did you ever care about me, Paige?"
"Of course, I did! That's not fair! Sometimes, these things just I don't know? Happen?"
"That's bullshit and you know it," Jacob glares back at her. "Max has been wanting this for months. And you, you just played right into his hands."
"Oh, stop it, Jacob," Paige hisses back to him. "You have had an issue with Max for months and it has been completely unwarranted. You're just mad because I am with Max and not you!"
Jacob chuckles back to her. "Unwarranted, huh?" he shakes his head back to her. "You have no idea who you're sleeping with and I have proof."
"What are you talking about? What proof?"
"I know that Max has been lying to you, to all of us Paige. Your new lover isn't the man you think he is, far from it."
Davenport House; Trenyce, Chris & Andrew's Home
Trenyce moves up to the fireplace mantel and grabs a picture of her and Chris. She looks at the smiles on their faces and sighs to herself, as she still hasn't heard from him since she told him that she is pregnant with Brad's child. She puts the picture back on the mantel and then puts her hand on her ever-expanding belly.
"What am I going to do little one, huh?" she asks herself, recalling how upset Chris was when he told her that she was pregnant with another man's baby. She knows that sleeping with Brad while Chris was in jail was wrong, but she can't deny that she is excited about becoming a mother again, especially since she lost so much time with Cheresa. She just hopes that Chris will, eventually, come around and support her. "I don't want to lose Chris, but it seems like he is having a difficult time excepting you. Maybe I just need to give him a little bit more time?"
A shirtless Andrew appears behind her, holding a wrench in his hand. "Hey Trey," he calls out, causing Trenyce to turn around and looks at the young man, with his toned chest on display. "I think I fixed that leaking sink for you."
Trenyce sighs back to him as she recalls how Brad came over last fall to help her with the same issue; they ended up making love that day, which resulted in her pregnancy.
"Sorry, did I startle you?" Andrew asks her with a sly grin.
"No, not at all," Trenyce shakes her head back to him. "I was just thinking of another time and place. I appreciate your help with the sink. I might just have to redo that entire kitchen."
"You're welcome," Andrew winks back to her. "Like I said, I'm happy to help with anything you need around the house."
"I'll keep that in mind," Trenyce nods back to him quickly. "Thanks again Andrew."
Meggan swiftly moves into the living room of the Victors mansion and looks around but doesn't see anyone. She came to see Brett after she had a conversation with Daisy, where her half-sister admitted to her that she and Brett had become lovers again, only she felt like something was different from when they were being held hostage by Vinny last year. Meggan doesn't know why, exactly, she felt the urge to come to see Brett after their conversation but here she is.
"I guess because I have my own history with this family," she whispers to herself as she thinks about when Dave held her hostage years ago and gave her alcohol, which made her fall off the wagon again. She shakes her head at the horrible memories from those years ago. "If something is going on with Brett, I have to figure out what it is."
"Meggan? What are you doing here?" Vinny asks as he moves into the living room, surprised to see her in his mansion. He hasn't seen Meggan since she helped save Brett and Daisy from the dungeons last year. He wonders what she is doing here now.
Meggan turns and forces an awkward smile on her face. "I was in the neighborhood Brett, and thought I'd stop by," she tells him quickly. "I realized I hadn't seen you in sometime. How are things?"
"Things are uh good," Vinny arches his eyebrow back to her, still wondering her motivation for being here. "I still get the feeling that you're here for something else?"
"I guess I am," Meggan uneasily nods back to him. "Daisy told me that you two are close again, I just hope you're not planning to hurt my half-sister."
"I didn't realize you and Daisy were that close."
"We aren't but we are trying to be," Meggan tells him. "So, take this as a warning: don't hurt her, Brett."
"Trust me," Vinny smiles back to her. "I have no intention of hurting Daisy."
Before Meggan can reply, Vinny's cell phone rings. The phone happens to be sitting on the table next to Meggan, so her eyes move to the screen and she can see the name "Bryce Barty" appear. She looks over at Vinny.
"I'll let you go so you can get that," Meggan tells him as she jolts out of the living room. Once she gets into the foyer, she takes a deep breath. "That was close," she whispers to herself. "Now, who the hell is Bryce Barty?"
"How do you think it went?" Greg nervously asks Josh as they sit next to one another while Abby and Cheresa are huddled up against them, wanting to hear the lawyer's answer. They all thought that Greg's testimony was powerful, but they have no idea if it will help Greg's case or hurt it.
"I think it was good," Josh replies to him quickly, as Abby and Cheresa breathe a sigh of relief. "You were very clear in your comments and indicated why you had to do what you did to Brooke to save yourself. The DA couldn't really argue anything you said, which is a good sign."
"So, what's next?" Abby asks Josh, wanting to know what to expect.
"Well, the DA is likely going to call a doctor to the stand to talk about the stab wound in Brooke," Josh explains to them. "They will want to make it look like Brooke had no chance at survival."
"As much as I hate the fact that Brooke is dead," Cheresa tells everyone. "She killed so many people. She had to be stopped."
"Let's just hope that everyone else sees that."
"Okay Ms. Kam," Judge Franklin Ross smashes his mallet after he completed writing down some notes from Greg's testimony. "Please call your witness."
Lois Kam stands up from her hair. "The people call Dr. Shane Glubbs to the stand, your honor."
The door to the courtroom opens and Shane quickly walks through the aisle towards the witness stand. Greg watches as the doctor gets sworn in and then takes a seat. Shane looks over at Greg, Abby and Cheresa and feels his heart sink as he feels awful for what they are going through.
"Please state your full name for the court," Lois asks as she stands up and moves closer to the witness stand.
"Dr. Shane Glubbs," he responds quickly.
"And, you are a doctor at Twin Peaks General Hospital?"
"I have been the Chief of Staff for a few years now," Shane nods back to her.
"In May of this year, were you aware that Brooke Lawson was brought to the hospital?"
"I was aware, yes," Shane answers her quickly. "She was already dead when her body arrived at the hospital."
"The injuries that killed her, they happened shortly before Brooke was brought into the hospital?"
"No," Shane shakes his head back to her. "I would say there was a good period of time in-between when the wound was inflicted to when she was brought into the hospital."
"Interesting," Lois notes back to him. "So, Mr. Lawson would have kept his wife in his home preventing her from possibly getting help that would save her life?"
"I don't know the details, but I would say had she been brought in sooner, maybe there was something we could have done. But that is unlikely."
"Why is that?"
"The wound was in the back and the ice pick was used with force, you could tell by the damage inside Brooke's back," Shane continues to explain.
"Essentially what you are saying, Dr. Glubbs, is that Brooke Lawson had no hope of surviving this?"
"That is exactly what I'm saying," Shane nods back to her before he looks over and makes more eye contact with Greg, Abby and Cheresa.
Abby, meanwhile, sits and listens to Shane's testimony. While she does, she looks down at her hands and notices that she's shaking a little. She takes a deep breath, hoping to calm herself down. She feels nervous about what is happening. She shuts her eyes for a moment, and instantly she can see Brooke's body laying on the ground in the foyer of the Lawson mansion, with the ice pick sticking out of her back.
She opens her eyes and feels beads of sweat forming on her forehead. She looks up and sees Shane still on the witness stand.
"What is happening?" she asks herself in a whisper so no one else can hear her. "What are these visions I am having?"
Peaks General Hospital
"Ugh, this waiting is killing me," Andy runs his hand through his hair as he looks over at Madeline and Clayton as they continue to wait for the DNA test results to come back. He just wants to know if Clayton is Reese and Madeline's brother or not.
"We shouldn't have to wait too much longer," Madeline tells him. "Just stay calm, everything will be okay."
"She's right," Clayton nods back to Andy. "We will learn the truth sooner than later."
Before they can respond, a nurse comes into the waiting room. "Mr. Hughes," she says as the three of them turn around and looks at her. "I have your test results."
"Okay," Clayton says as he grabs Madeline's hand and they lock eyes. "What do they say? Do the two DNA samples match?"
She opens the small envelope and then looks at Madeline, Andy and Clayton. "They are a match," she purses her lips together. "You two are related."
Madeline gets tears in her eyes as she looks at Clayton. "My God," she whispers as they lock eyes. "It's true, you're my brother," she says as a tear falls down her cheek and she pulls him into a hug, while Andy looks on in absolute shock.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Paige huffs back to Jacob, who is annoyed that he is claiming that she doesn't know Max very well. "I know who Max is, Jacob."
"Cassie is alive," Jacob reveals to her, as she gasps back to him. "And, Max knows. They have been in touch this entire time."
"That can't be true," Paige shakes her head to him. "Cassie died in Canada last year."
"That's what they want everyone to believe because she stole money from the companies," Jacob moves closer to her. "Max is in touch with his mother and I have proof, Paige. Max has been lying to you, he's been lying to all of us," he tells her as she feels the blood drain from her face. "He wants to keep his mother a secret because he knows that she is a thief and that he has been living off that money. You're sleeping with a monster!"
