Episode Theme song: "The Limit To Your Love" Feist

Previously on One Day at a Time
- Andy agreed to marry Trenyce, who was feeling like the walls were closing in on her after Terrence came to town. Trenyce told herself that she would tell Andy the truth about knowing that he is gay after they were married.
- Reese continued to sleep with random men and took a job at the gay bar as a go-go dancer to help get over the pain of losing Andy.
- Eva went to Natasha and asked for legal advice surrounding her daughter.
- Olivia switched Helen’s prenatal vitamins with memory loss pills. Adam slowly became more suspicious of her and Preston.
- Ryan was uncovered to be Jackson’s brother and enlisted Will’s help to sell drugs to teens in Twin Peaks. He saw Will & Olivia in a close moment and clued in that they are former lovers.

Scene One – St. Joseph’s Church

The sun warmly beams through the stain glass windows of St. Joseph’s church. The coloured glass creates a variety of warm tones through out the building. The alter is set with a small arch that is covered in while daffodils, Trenyce’s favourite flower. The wedding will be small, so only the first three pews have flowers on the corners.

Father Murphy looks around and takes a deep breath. He loves wedding days, but in particular with young lovers such as Andy and Trenyce. He recalls the moment that they came in and requested that he marry them; he thinks it is a huge step for the two of them as they are extremely young and already expecting a child to come into the world. Still, he is a firm believer in marriage when a child is involved; he believes in bringing child up in a traditional home with a father and mother, a husband and wife.

“Father,” Andy says softly approaching the priest. Father Murphy turns and sees Andy. Andy is sharply dressed in a traditional black and white suit, his hair parted in the middle. Father Murphy does note that Andy looks a little pale. Andy’s eyes meet Father Murphy’s. So desperately he wants to admit that everything is a sham, that he is gay and that he is in love with Reese. But how can he possibly hurt Trenyce like that? How can he allow her baby’s future to be jeopardized? Still, he longs for the truth to come out.

“Is everything alright Andy?” Father Murphy asks placing his hand on Andy’s shoulder. Immediately, he feels how tense Andy is.

Andy gulps and looks again at the priest, hoping that he’ll be able to read Andy’s mind; read his facial expression and everything will be out in the open. “I’m just nervous, I guess.”

“That’s very natural and very common. Just relax, you’ll be fine.”

Before Father Murphy can continue, some guests start entering the church. Andy smiles when Victoria enters. She quickly waves to him. He excuses himself from Father Murphy and walks over to her.

“Are you ready?” Victoria asks him with a look of concern on her face. “I know that you can’t possibly be in love with Trenyce,” she says in a low voice, so others won’t hear her, as she remembers Andy coming out to her last summer.

Andy hugs her and fights off some tears in his eyes. “Thank you for your concern, but I’m doing the right thing. You have to believe me.”

“Okay, I believe you. But I don’t like it,” she replies. “I’ll grab my seat.”

Father Murphy comes up to Andy and tells him that they are ready to begin. He slowly walks up to the alter and turns out and looks in the crowd. Chris and Victoria are sitting together; Kim and Will sit in the front row together; Daisy is sitting beside Natasha, her last minute date. He is glad that Reese isn’t here, he knows that it would devastate him to see Andy get married. Suddenly Trenyce arrives at the back in the church; her long white dress is simple. Her large stomach is not hidden by the small bouquet of white roses. She smiles as she slowly walks down the aisle. Her eyes never once leave Andy’s. She keeps telling herself that as soon as they are married, she’ll be honest with him … about everything. But she has to get through the ceremony, just to make sure her baby is okay. That is her main priority.

She arrives at the alter and smiles at Father Murphy. “Are you two ready?” he asks before he begins. They both look at him and nod. As he begins his service, Andy looks at Trenyce. She smiles back; she can tell that he is scared and questioning whether or not he should go through with it. She feels her heart skip a beat. “He can’t back down now, he just can’t,” she says to herself, forcing herself to keep a smile on her face.

She snaps out of it when she hears Father Murphy tell Andy to repeat after him. Trenyce knows that this is the moment of truth. Will Andy say his vows? She breathes a sigh of relief when she sees Andy’s mouth to start to move. She hears him repeat the vows and feels herself getting misty. She is about to ensure that her baby is safe and will be kept with her. Father Murphy gets Trenyce to repeat her vows. Andy forces himself not to cry. He feels like he is throwing away his personal happiness in order to make sure Trenyce’s baby is safe. He smiles as she finishes her vows. The two exchange simple rings, still secretly hoping that they are doing the right thing.

“By the power invested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife,” Father Murphy announces. “Andy, you may kiss your bride.”

Andy looks at Trenyce, who is crying. He smile and leans in and gives her a quick kiss on the lips. The kiss doesn’t last more than five seconds. Together they turn and are announced as Mr. and Mrs. Andy Spinnes as the small crowd claps, watching with an awkward feeling.

Scene Two -- The Wilkins Estate; Preston, Olivia & Reese’s Home

Olivia places a dish on the dining room table. The table is set with the Wilkins best set of china; there is a large vase of fresh flowers in the centre of the table. A nice bottle of white wine is chilling at the bar. All four seats are set. Preston enters the dining room and takes a big smell of the meal that Olivia has prepared.

“Smells amazing,” he says as he puts his arms around her waist. “Give me a kiss quickly.”

Olivia turns and smiles to her husband. It was moments like this that she had grown to miss so much while Madeline was missing and Preston was blaming her for her disappearance. When he wants to be, Preston can be the most loving and romantic man in the world, she realizes. They have a quick kiss before she returns to getting everything ready for the lunch.

“Relax, everything looks amazing,” he reassures her, even though he knows that this lunch is going to be critical for his family. He and Olivia have invited both Reese and Madeline to lunch to try to make amends for their criminal past.

“I want everything to be perfect,” Olivia tells him as she straights things in the dining room.

He comes up behind her again and turns her around to face him. “It’ll be fine, you’ll see. We raised some great kids, they’ll listen to what we have to say.”

Olivia smiles knowing that he is trying to make her feel better. She appreciates his words more than he’ll ever know. Still she has a harbouring feeling that Reese and Madeline will not be as open as Preston believes.

“I heard the doorbell. It must be Madeline, I’ll go get it,” she says walking past him.

While Olivia is getting the door, Preston spots Reese coming into the dinning room. Reese barely looks at his father as he enters the dinning room. Preston wishes his family could be closer, like they used to be. He remains positive that this lunch is the first step to rebuilding their relationships.

“You Mom has made quite the fest,” Preston says to Reese, trying to break the ice with him.

Reese looks over at his father and rolls his eyes. He doesn’t want to hear about Preston’s lame attempts to make nice. It’s not only that he is frustrated with both of his parents for the lies that he told, it’s that his body is still reacting to the drugs he snorted the night before at Bar Code before he danced as a go-go boy. Of course, he would never dream of sharing that information with his family as they would be so ashamed and worried about him.

“It does smell good,” Reese replies trying to keep the peace.

Before Preston can reply, Olivia and Madeline enter the dinning room. Olivia looks at Preston and smiles. “It’s been far too long since we’ve all been together,” she says to everyone.

Madeline walks over and hugs her brother. “Hey, how are you? You don’t look so good.”

Reese shrugs, trying to shrug it off. “I’m fine. How are you?”

“I’m good. I’m sorry you found out the way you did. I was just so tired of lying,” Madeline admits looking down.

“It’s okay, I don’t blame you. Is that why you ran away all those years ago?”

Madeline looks over at Preston and Olivia before returning her focus to Reese. She really is tired of all the lies; it’s time he knows the complete truth. “Yes. I overheard Mom and Dad fighting about it. I didn’t know what to do … so I ran.”

Reese sighs and looks over at his parents. Angrily, he yells “You guys are to blame for us missing out on having Maddie around for all those years! Don’t you guys understand what you’ve done to our family? You’ve destroyed everything!”

Olivia rushes over to Reese’s side and tries to calm him down. “Please hunny, we wanted our family together today so we can try to mend. Try to put our lives back together.”

Preston echoes in. “We made mistakes son. Let us try to fix them?”

Reese looks at Madeline then back at his parents. He nods in agreement that he will stay and try to have a pleasant lunch with his family.

“Great! We thought during the meal we could connect as a family. Then after we can talk about what we did,” Preston announces. “If you guys have questions or anything, we’ll here you.”

The four of them sit down at their usual places at the dinning room table. Olivia smiles as she looks around and sees her family together, for the first time in awhile.

“I heard Andy and Trenyce are getting married today, I’m surprised you’re not there,” Olivia says to Reese as she takes a bite of her casserole.

Reese looks up, stunned by the news that his mother just told him. He knew that they were engaged, but he had no idea that today of the wedding. He feels his heart break inside and his eyes swell with water. Without saying a word, he stands up and rushes out of the dinning room.

Madeline, who has suspected Andy of being Reese’s love interest all along, looks over at her mother and glares. “You sure know how to ruin a moment, don’t you mother?”

Before Olivia can respond, Madeline stands up and leaves the dinning room. Preston shuts his eyes as he hears the front door slam shut again. “Well, you know how to clear out a room.”

Olivia goes to say something, but Preston stands up. “Save it Olivia,” he growls before he exit’s the room leaving Olivia alone with her tears.

Scene Three – The Black House; Adam & Helen’s Home

Adam sets a bowl of tomato soup down on the table. He has made a small lunch for Helen before her Lamaze class. He wishes he could attend with her, but he has a class to teach late in the afternoon. He quickly glances at the clock and thinks that Helen’s nap is extra long today. He tries to tell himself that it’s nothing that his wife is fine, but he is increasingly worried about her as her memory continues to seemingly be disintegrating in front of him. More over, he doesn’t trust Olivia, someone that Helen has turned too more and more during her pregnancy.

He thinks back to confronting Olivia in her office about not being in Helen’s yearbook and her excuse that they went to different high schools but knew each other via a sports team. He realizes that it is a very logical explanation, but there is something about Olivia that doesn’t sit right with Adam. Something in the pit of his stomach is telling him that she is lying to him and Helen.

He sighs as he is conflicted about what to do from here. If he continues to confront Olivia he risks irritating Helen, and he doesn’t want to cause her any added stress while she is pregnant. Her memory is cause enough for concern. He glances at the clock again and realizes that Helen must still be sleeping. He decides to wake her up, or she’ll be late for her class.

He walks up the stairs and heads into the bedroom. Just as he suspected, Helen is fast asleep on the bed. He sits down next to her and places his hand on her leg.

“Hey, your soup is getting cold,” he says to his sleeping wife.

Helen stirs and slowly opens her eyes. After adjusting to being awake, she looks at him with a blank stare. “Why did you wake me? I’m still so tired,” Helen admits through a yawn.

“You have your Lamaze class. I made you soup so you can eat before you go,” Adam replies to her. “I don’t want you to be late.”

Helen continues to look at him with a blank stare. “I thought my class was tomorrow. Are you sure it’s today?”

Adam takes a deep breath and tries to hide his concern. Once again, Helen’s memory is failing her. He wonders if she is having side effects to her injury that Victoria caused now, even though that happened over a year ago.

“No, it is today. It’s on the calendar downstairs. Come on, I’ll show you.”

Helen smiles at her husband. While her memory is creating concern for her, she doesn’t want to admit it to him. She just has to try harder, she tells herself. The pregnancy must be effecting her, she concludes. “Thanks for making me lunch before I go,” she says calmly as she gets up. “I don’t know what I’d do with you.”

“You’ll never find out,” Adam winks at her as they proceed downstairs.

Scene Four – The Legal Firm; Natasha’s Office

As soon as the wedding ceremony was over, Natasha had to bid farewell to Daisy. She quickly congratulated Andy and Trenyce, then she came straight to work. She has a lot of important files to go over and review before some up coming court dates. As she goes over the file on her desk, she can’t help but think of the wedding. Two people so in love that they want to commit to staying with each other forever. She feels some mist growing in her eyes as she thinks back to her wedding to Cory. They were so in love, so together back then. She sighs knowing that times have changed. Her mind wonders to Shane and how she thought they would be married. Instead, he is living with Cassie the woman he got pregnant. Of course, she knows that was her decision, but she couldn’t possibly stand in the way of Shane being a father and giving his child a proper name. She wonders if they have discussed marriage. She shakes her head; she doesn’t want to think of that. She can’t bear more bad news in that department of her life. Which is why she is focusing, instead, of her career. She would love to be partner one day. If she continues to succeed, she knows that she’ll be able to accomplish that goal.

She returns her focus to the file in front of her. She reads the name: Eva McCloud. The woman came to visit her a few weeks ago and told her a horrific story of how she gave up her baby to a wealthy couple for some money. Natasha shudders when she think of what Eva must have went through; knowing that she wasn’t able to support her baby so she agreed to give it to the wealthy couple. She also wonders why the couple would pay someone for a child.

Her thoughts are interrupted by a knock on the door. She looks up and sees Eva standing there.

“May I come in?” Eva asks as she takes off her large sunglasses.

“Of course,” Natasha smiles back to Eva. “I was actually just reviewing your file.”

Eva takes a seat in front of Natasha. She studies Natasha closely; she loves looking at the woman her daughter has become. She smiles knowing that Natasha is a young, confident, successful, beautiful woman. Eva wonders if she should just tell Natasha the truth: I am your mother. She knows that it would be so easy to say. She already knows that Natasha feels compassion towards her, towards her situation. She can paint the picture that Bob and Sofia are the bad guys in the situation, not the other way around. She and Natasha could be a family.

“Eva? Are you okay?” Natasha asks her as Eva comes back into the present not in her dream world.

“Oh yea, sorry. I was daydreaming I guess. So what did you find out about my daughter?”

Scene Five – Will’s Apartment

Will finishes getting ready for his day, which is turning out to be a busy day. After the wedding, he had to come home and change quickly as he has to go to the hospital for a rotation then he has to write an exam at the hospital as part of his practicum. He reads over the chapter of his thick text book as he chews on a piece of toast.

While he reads, he finds his brain wandering to other aspects of his life. He thinks to Madeline; he feels bad that he hasn’t seen her as much as he would like to lately but he has been busy with work. He wonders if they could squeeze a date in later in the week. He quickly smirks to himself that he could get laid at the same time. Before he knows it, his mind is on Olivia and how they had hot sex numerous times in her office at the hospital. He shakes his head and scolds himself for thinking of his girlfriend’s mother like that.

He is glad when he hears a knock on his apartment door so he can take his mind off of the sexual adventures he was having with Olivia. He walks over to the door and opens it only to find Ryan standing there.

Ryan doesn’t wait before entering. “Will, I’m so glad you’re home. It’s been a long time buddy, what’s up?”

Will shuts the door and looks at Ryan. He is apart of his life that he was hoping to forget. For years, he knows that he helped Ryan and Jackson with the drug trade in Twin Peaks. He rejuvenated himself and wants to do good for himself. This is why he opted not to reply to the text message that Ryan had sent him a few weeks back.

“What do you want Ryan?” Will finally asks, already out of patience with him.

“Is that any way to talk to your friend?” Ryan replies with a devilish grin on his face. “I need a dealer, and you are one of the best I’ve ever had.”

Ryan looks at Will, hoping to see what he is thinking. He sees a young guy wearing scrubs with text books around him. Ryan would never admit it to anyone, but he is impressed with the way Will has changed his life around, the way that Will has. For a second, Ryan wonders if he could turn his life around. He quickly realizes that it’s not possible; people that have lead his kind of life never really get out of it, they never really are fully able to change.

“I’m not interested Ryan. I thought you would have got the picture by me not replying to your text message. I’m a new man, I’ve changed. I want no part of your illegal activities,” Will says in a stern voice to him.

Ryan is semi impressed. Will is actually taking a stand for what he believes in. He knew that getting Will to help him again would take work, but that’s why he came prepared. “I knew you’d say that.”

“Good, then you can leave without any fight.”

“Not so fast Will. I know your secret,” Ryan reveals.

Will gulps and glares back at Ryan. “What are you talking about?”

Ryan grins. “I know you’ve banged your chick’s mother.”

Will turns around in horror. How could Ryan possibly now this? Should he lie? Ryan wouldn’t just make something like this up; he must have proof, Will concludes. Will continues to rack his brain trying to think of a way to get out of this, but he comes up cold.

“What do you want?” he finally asks Ryan.

“Your help. You were the best dealer Jackson and I had! Come back, it’ll be worth your while,” Ryan grins. He quickly notices Will shake his head. “I’m not giving you a choice frankly. Either you deal for me, or your girlfriend learns the truth.”

Before Will can reply, he hears a knock on the door. Just what he needs, he thinks, another visitor. He walks over to the door and finds Olivia.

“Is this a bad time?” she asks him standing in the door way.

Ryan grins knowing he just got more proof on Will.

“It’s fine, I was just leaving. Will, I’ll let you know the details,” Ryan winks as he walks out of the apartment, feeling a sense of accomplishment.

Olivia watches as Ryan exits and Will shuts the door. Will comes over to her and sits next to her on the sofa.

“What’s going on? You look upset,” he says. Before he knows it, she collapses into his arms crying.

“I just … I didn’t know who else to turn too,” she says as he holds her.

Scene Six -- Twin Peaks Executive Hotel; The Honeymoon Suite

Andy and Trenyce enter the large honeymoon suite at the most expensive hotel in downtown Twin Peaks. Andy must admit, the suite is very nice.

“It was nice of Daisy to get us this room,” Andy says as he loosens his tie and takes off his jacket.

Trenyce smiles and nods. “Yea, she can be so sweet.”

“Do you need help out of your wedding dress?” he asks as he continues to disrobe out of the uncomfortable clothing.

“We should talk first,” Trenyce admits knowing that she has to tell him the truth. It has been slowly killing her inside. She loves Andy as her best friend and everything that he has given up for her. It’s time that he knows the truth.

Andy looks at Trenyce and arches his eye brow. “Okay,” he replies. “It sounds serious.”

Trenyce stands above Andy as he sits on the bed. “It is serious,” she admits. She quickly feels tears in her eyes.

“T, what is it? Why are you crying?”

“I’ve lied to you,” Trenyce says letting a tear fall from her cheek. “I haven’t been honest with you. I … I know,” she says through her tears.

Andy leans up on the bed not sure of what to make about Trenyce’s sudden confession.

“I know that you’re gay! And I know that you gave up Reese when you agreed to be the father of my baby.”

Andy is floored by her admission. For months Trenyce has led him on and lied to him about, everything. Andy feels his anger building.

“You knew and you let me walk away from Reese?” he asks dumbfounded. “Why would you let me through away the best thing that’s happened to me? Are you that selfish?”

Trenyce falls to her knees and holds Andy’s legs. “Please, I just wanted to make sure my baby was protected Andy! You’re the only one that could save my baby.”

“If you told the truth just ONCE in your life Trenyce, you could see that people are not against you! I can’t believe I fell for all your sob stories! I’m such an idiot! I … I have to go find Reese!”

Trenyce watches as Andy walks towards the door. “Andy wait!,“ she calls out to Andy.

“You’ve lied to me for the last time,“ Andy sternly replies, not turning back to even look at her.

The door slamming shut rocks her to the core. She continues to sit on the floor in her tears, knowing that she caused so many people she cared about pain.

Scene Seven -- Twin Peaks General Hospital; The Maternity Ward; Lamaze Class

Helen enters the large room with wooden floors. She looks around the room and sees couples together for the Lamaze class. She wishes that Adam was here with her, but she understands why he is not. She still also feels a little apprehensive about her failed memory from earlier once again. She knows that it has been happening more and more lately. She continues to tell herself that it’s because of her pregnancy.

She finds a spot on the ground and sits down. Next to her she sees a familiar face: Cassie.

“Helen, I didn’t know you were in this class,” Cassie says patting her growing stomach.

Helen smiles back at Cassie, having forgotten that she was pregnant with Shane’s baby. She has never really spoken to Cassie much before, even though she did have her wedding at her restaurant, but mostly because Helen is friends with Natasha.

“My regular class was cancelled. You’re looking great,” Helen tells her.

“Thanks so do you. Hey, do you want to sit with me? I would love to know someone else that’s pregnant at the same time as me.”

Helen looks at Cassie, her long blonde hair pulled back neatly into a ponytail and her big brown eyes sparkle. She couldn’t possibly be a negative force in her life.

“Sure, I’d like that too,” Helen says as she moves closer to Cassie.

Scene Eight -- The Legal Firm; Natasha’s Office

Eva continues to listen as Natasha informs her that because her daughter is of legal age, Eva really has no legal grounds on where her daughter is concerned.

“I’m sorry, I know that’s not what you wanted to hear. If your daughter was still a minor, it would be a different story,” Natasha offers Eva.

Eva smiles. “It’s okay. I thank you so much for looking into this for me. I appreciate your time. How much do I owe you?”

Eva digs around in her purse for her wallet. Natasha smiles.

“It’s okay, you don’t owe me anything. It was my pleasure,” Natasha replies to her. Suddenly Natasha notices Eva’s Chanel wallet. “Oh! I love your wallet!”

Eva looks up and beams. Of course her daughter loves Chanel the way she does. “Really? I got it in Paris when I was there last. It’s amazing, huh?”

Natasha comes around and looks at the wallet with more detail. For a brief moment, Eva’s hand touches Natasha. Eva feels her heart feel complete for the first time in a long time.

Suddenly, at the door of Natasha’s office Sofia emerges. She is about to knock on the door when she sees Eva McCloud with her daughter! Sofia gasps and walks backwards. What is Eva doing in Twin Peaks? She wonders. She can clearly see that she had made inroads with Natasha as well. Devastated, Sofia leaves unseen.

Scene Nine -- Main Street

Andy rushes down main street, still reeling from the news that Trenyce laid on him. She has been using him to get what she wants; the worst part is now he is married to her so he knows to get out of the mess will be tricky. Still, one thing is on his mind: finding Reese. He has to find Reese and reveal the entire truth no matter what. Maybe they could start to rebuild their love again.

He looks ahead and stops dead in his tracks. In front of him, going up to the apartments above the Sugarbowl is Reese. Only he is not alone. He is with Derek, and they are kissing.

“Come on up,” Derek says, grinning at Reese as they hold hands racing up the stairs, clearly going to have sex.

Andy watches and feels cold seeing Reese kiss another man. Andy feels his heart break inside, thinking he has lost his chance with Reese. He has moved on already; he doesn’t love Andy anymore.

Scene Ten -- Twin Peaks Executive Hotel; The Honeymoon Suite

Terrence approaches the door to Andy and Trenyce’s honeymoon. He is carrying a large bouquet of red roses. He quickly remembers seeing Daisy after the ceremony; she agreed to go ahead with the ski resort! Everything he has been working towards is finally paying off. If only he and Trenyce can put the past behind them. Put everything they shared in the past and move on … no one would ever have to know anything that happened. Terrence grins a devilish smile; he knows what happened in Detroit, what really happened in Detroit, must stay there forever.

He knocks on the door, but when no one appears to answer, he tries to open it. He decides that he’ll just leave the flowers as a peace offering for Trenyce. He enters the room and finds Trenyce on the ground crying.

“Trenyce, are you okay?” he asks rushing to her side.

Unable to control her tears, Trenyce looks at Terrence and growls at him. “Get away from me! Get away from me!” she yells at him.

Terrence steps back knowing that some thing must have seriously happened to make Trenyce go into this state. Her hair is a mess, her face is ruined with tears.

“I want you out of my life!” she screams at him. “You ruined my mothers life! I won’t let you ruin mine!”

Suddenly Trenyce looks at him in utter shock. “Oh my god!” she cries.

“What? What is it?” he asks concerned about her.

“My water just broke …”
